Heartless by Marissa Meyer – Retail Value $19.99 (On Amazon for $11.85)

Book Summary from Amazon:

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland―the infamous Queen of Hearts―she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.

Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

In her first stand-alone teen novel, the New York Times-bestselling author dazzles us with a prequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

I'm SO excited that this was the book selection for November! I'm a HUGE fan of Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles series, and will now read any book she writes! So far, I'm really enjoying this Alice in Wonderland retelling, too.

And this book also came with a letter from Marissa Meyer and a quote card:

How beautiful is this tin? Even the base is thoughtfully done:

And the inside of the tin lid:

Now that I'm done obsessing over the tin, I can tell you that the tea is fab, too!

It's a sweet, floral and fruity, decaffeinated tea.

Double book months are always a nice bonus and I love the cover art!

Lastly, we have an exclusive magnet design by Evie Bookish.

And each OwlCrate box now comes with an exclusive pin to match the theme!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $49 (using the Amazon sale prices and my estimates of some of these exclusive items). I think that's a great value for a book box, especially with the curation, exclusive items, and bonus book extras that OwlCrate includes each month. The Wonderland theme was perfectly done, too!

Love the look of this box.

The tea doesn’t sound like a flavor I’d enjoy, but I’m completely gaga over that tin – it’s art!
