This box includes two soaps. This little card gives you the scoop on what's inside. I noticed the info card includes a SoCal Valley Almond Soap, however, I received a Mineral 21 Dead Sea Mud Soap. I reached out to Saffron and they confirmed the info card was misprinted.
Mineral 21 Dead Sea Mud Soap - Value $9.99
Even though this isn't the soap noted on the card, it seems to have similar exfoliating qualities to the almond soap the card described.
The gray half of the soap has some grit to it. It's not too coarse, but I still felt the scrubby power of the minerals on my face and body. It has a really fresh, almost piney fragrance. After using it, I definitely felt fresh and clean. And my whole shower smelled great!
Lemon Drop Soap - Value $9.99?
This soap came wrapped in this simple printed paper. Even before I unwrapped it, I could smell the lemony scent.
The main selling point of this soap is the scent, which is sweet and citrusy. The swirls of yellow running through this little block of soap definitely capture the lemony vibe. I'll definitely keep this soap handy, but if I saw it in a boutique, I don't know that I'd spring for it. It just didn't strike me as super special.
Verdict: This Saffron box was okay, despite the mix-up in the soaps listed vs. the ones included. Saffron soaps go for about $9.99 each, meaning that you get about $20.00 worth of soap in this $14.99 box. I really liked the exfoliating mineral soap, as it really matched the needs of my skin. But $9.99 still feels like a lot. That's doubly true for the lemon soap, which wasn't bad but wasn't anything out of the ordinary to me, either. That said, I do appreciate Saffron's emphasis on natural, quality ingredients and pretty fragrances.
