Good To Know: Sci-Fi Block, like all other Nerd Blocks, does not have a monthly theme - but you will know at least a couple of the franchises that will be in the box before it ships.
Each delivery includes a card that details the items in the box.
There 2 new things to mention in this delivery - first, it looks like they are only sending out eCredit to the Nerd Block store now:
Feel free to use my code!
And second - they are rebranding this box in January:
It looks like you'll be seeing fantasy items in the box as well.
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea being attacked by a giant squid. While I'm not a massive fan of the book - I just like the shirt because it looks like something you'd find on Threadless!
Death Star Pencil Holder - Value $10-15?
This little chrome painted Death Star is 3 inches tall.
It doesn't have a ton of detail, but it's sure to be the shiniest Death Star you'll own.
Star Wars Alderaan Tie - Value $15-20?
Dressing up for the holidays? Now you can sport the demise of poor Alderaan.
Poor Alderaan was one of the planets to feel the full wrath of the Death Star. I like the design of the tie - and it's really shiny, so you're sure to stand out.
Star Trek Borg Puzzle Cube - Value $15-20?
This adds to my collection of Rubik's Cubes - my favorite still being the Hellraiser Puzzle Cube!
It's kind of tough to see what you're supposed to match up from cube to cube - but that makes sense when you remember what a Borg cube looks like:
Terminator 2 Shot Glasses - Value $10?
This month included two shot glasses as well.
You'll receive a black Skynet and a chrome Terminator shot glass. They're disappointing, though, both graphics are crooked on mine - did you have this problem?
Fleet Pin - Value $5-10?
Lastly, they include a fleet pin from Starship Troopers! I've never been that big on pins, but this is definitely one of the better ones!
Verdict: December was pretty good for Sci-Fi Block. I like most of the ideas for products in the box, but some of them had some quality issues and that knocked some of the items down a bit. I'll be interested to see where they go as they re-brand in Sci-Fan Block in January.
What did you think of the December Sci-Fi Block?
