December’s theme is “Festive Baking.”
Hamptons Lane includes a booklet that details all of the items included in the box.
The booklet also provides recipes and cooking tips.
I received a card promoting the add-on items for this box, too.
Eat This Tipsy Peach Preserve (5 oz.) - Value $10
These preserves are made with fresh peaches and a splash of “The Knot” Irish Whiskey, which provides a hint of caramel flavor. Hamptons Lane recommends trying it over ice cream, with savory ricotta dip, or as a glaze for pork. I tried it on a slice of bread (photos below!) and I really enjoyed it. I also love the packaging. The glass jar sealed with a rubber ring somehow feels both vintage and modern.
Butter & Scotch Hot Toddy Sugar (8 oz.) - Value ?
This next item was made just for Hamptons Lane subscribers, so it’s unavailable for sale online. The sugar is infused with lemon and cinnamon, and it can be used in baking or to rim cocktails. I’ve been using it to sweeten black tea, and I love how it adds an extra kick of flavor.
Rancho Gordo Premium Crimson Popping Corn (16 oz.) - Value $3.75
It’s rare that I make popcorn without using a microwave, but I’m happy to put in a little bit more work for this specialty corn. The small kernels are red, but the corn pops up white. It’s fluffy, soft, and really tasty!
Rosemary Soberdough Brew Bread - Value $8.95
I received some soberdough in one of my first Mantry boxes, and I was really excited to try another flavor! To bake this up, you simply mix together the provided dry mix with a bottle of beer, cider, or sparkling water and bake it in the over.
The first time around, I tried the Buffalovin’ Wing flavor (which was AMAZING with fried chicken!), and this box included Rosemary Soberdough. It smelled incredible when it was baking, and I love that my whole house smelled yeasty and herby while it was in the oven.
I tried it with some of the Tipsy Peach Preserves, and it was great. The peach and rosemary flavors worked really nicely together!
6 oz. BIA Cordon Bleu Textured Ramekins - Value $19.56
Hamptons Lane always includes tools or equipment in every box, and this month I received these lovely ramekins.
I’m a big fan of white dishes, and I love that the different textures add subtle visual interest.
Best of all, these ramekins are microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe!
Verdict: Not including the custom sugar, the total value of the items in this box comes to $42.26. With the sugar, I think it’s safe to say this box meets or exceeds the cost this month. I think this month’s theme is perfect for December, and I absolutely love the ramekins!
