I’m very happy about this.
Have been a subscriber for almost 2 years and have been opting out of most recently because they have not offered proteins of this quality in quite some time and I don’t go for the chicken thighs!

Oh total bummer. I felt like every month they already had at least one meal comparable to the new featured “premium” meals….looks like now that are just going to force me to upgrade if i want a good meal, or be left to select from the “not favorites”.
Guess im out.

You don’t have to upgrade…. $11.50 per meal is the current price ($69 for 6 meals), but now for the same price it will include one premium meal per week. You could downgrade if you wanted and pay less, but your meal choice would be restricted (I imagine only certain meal combinations could be selected aka Blue Apron) and you would have to pay extra for the premium meals.

I for one think this is awesome, it looks like the premium meals will contain a premium quality meat (filet mignon? scallops? yum.) which their regular recipes have never included, I have been a subscriber for over a year and have never seen these. Salmon I have seen occasionally, but that’s only one of the meals shown.

Thanks for the pricing update, Liz!!! I got the email about the new meals but nothing about pricing.

While I do think the idea is intriguing, the current price is $9.99 a meal. The pricing model sounds like marketing that has been made popular by subscription models of the past. Basically, they increase the price of the current tier, and allow the user to opt out and go to a new lower tier if they prefer to keep their same price.

TL;DR: The current plan will be increased to $11.50 per meal per week, and the customer can choose to downgrade their current plan to a new basic plan in order to continue paying $9.99 per meal per weak.

I like this idea!
