Legion of Collectors ships bi-monthly and is always themed. This theme was DC Legacy.
It comes with a detailed card that lays out the month's choices. From time to time, they'll show concept art and original ideas with details on how they landed on choosing your items for the month. The cards are actually fun to read through and get a background of their thought and creation process.
Each month will always include a pin and patch - this month features a classic Green Arrow patch and Swamp Thing on the pin.
Ace The Bat-Hound Shirt - Value $15?
This month featured all legacy characters (surprise, surprise) - and the shirt was a 50/50 mix of Ace or Krypto.
I was happy that I got Ace, as I am much more of a Batman fan than Superman. I also love that it's a ringer tee and it's not featuring a POP version of the character. While I don't mind the POP character shirts - I find myself choosing the non-POP shirts more often, so this will get more wear.
Plastic Man POP - Value $25? from POP Price Guide
This month's POP is unique in a couple ways. The figure itself is just cool and it's Plastic Man - and I never thought we'd see a POP of him. I see these for sale for around $25 - but there wasn't enough data to list a value on POP Price Guide as of yet.
I thought they did a really good job in capturing the powers of Plastic Man. Outside of the Batman characters, I don't follow DC too much - but, honestly, this is one of my favorite POPs just because of the sculpt.
Batman and Robin Salt & Pepper Shakers - Value $15+ (based on Amazon pricing of non-exclusive shakers)
We also received a home item this month.
The classic version of Batman and Robin are ready to deliver justice along with your salt & pepper.
These porcelain figures are handwash only - if you even need to wash a shaker.
Adventure Comics Starring Aquaman #452 - Value $3.99 + Variant Cover
This is a reprint of an old comic featuring Aquaman vs. Black Manta.
Typically, the comic is a toss-in value-wise, so I don't mind getting an old reprint with a fun cover, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.
Verdict: For me, these boxes are ALL about the exclusive POP figure - that's pretty much why we're all subscribing, right? With that in mind - the figure was just an awesome sculpt, so I'm happy. I would say, outside of the figure and shirt, the other two items wouldn't be my first choice items - but, I'm still happy with this month overall.
