Included was an information card with a list of the items for the month. There was also a letter detailing their charity efforts.
Although a lot of the items are custom-made for the box, the makers are selling similar items on Etsy. So I have usually linked to their Etsy shops and taken the values from similar items.
Beanie Style Cap with Cat Ears – Value $12.28 USD
This is really soft. It’s one of the most comfortable beanies I have. I like the sequins on the ears, too.
Woolen Kitten Charm from Infinite Fluffs – Listed Value $4.92 USD
I couldn’t find this exact charm by itself so I linked to a similar item. The stuff in this Etsy shop is so cute. I think this needs to come to my office where there is not nearly enough cat stuff.
Cards from Bubble Cat Shop – Value $6
I never seem to have cards when I need them. These would work for any number of winter occasions (including January birthdays, of which there are several in my family).
Snowflake Cat Collar – Value $8.59 USD
My cats don’t wear collars (they are indoor-only cats) but this is super cute and I am collecting all the ones I receive from subscription boxes in case there is ever a time that I need them. (This one will be for Monkey. He is sometimes poorly-behaved and the bell will help alert me to his activities.) These are made in the UK.
Natural Cat food from Meowingheads – Value $1.34 USD
One of the fun things about this box, for me, is the opportunity to try cat foods and treats from the UK that I’d never see otherwise. Sneaky and Madison thought this was pretty great (the main proteins are whitefish and chicken).
Cat and Snowflake Necklace – Value $15.96 USD
This is very cute and just my style (I prefer delicate jewelry and will wear either silver-tone or gold-tone items). It is a good length to go with most of the items in my current wardrobe, as well.
Valerian Gingerbread Man – Value $3.28
Oh, is this thing stinky. Valerian cat toys smell like old gym socks stuffed with cheese or something. But Monkey had so much fun with this. (I could only find this as part of a set of three – these are from Germany – so I took 1/3 the cost of the whole set.)
Rose Cottage Pillows Shelf Sitter – Value $15?
I could only find this item as part of a “cat shelf sitter of the month club” in the Rose Cottage Pillows Etsy shop, so I divided accordingly. Even though this is winter-themed, I will totally keep it out for the whole year. There are some fun pincushions in this shop, too. (That is one great thing about this subscription. I get to poke around Etsy shops and look at things I’d never have come across, otherwise.)
Cat photos ahead…
Madison chows down while Sneaky comes up for air.
Mr. Kitty kept trying to get at the food. I had to keep pushing him away. I felt so bad for doing so, but this is definitely not something he can have.
Words cannot express how much Monkey loved this gingerbread man toy.
Still eating!
Ha! I caught Mr. Kitty with his eyes open.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $67.37 for the December 2016 My Purrfect Gift Box. That is above the cost of the box plus shipping even to the United States and one of the best values I’ve seen for this box for awhile. I liked that we got winter-themed items without getting the exact same Christmas toys and such that every other cat subscription sent out this month. This was a fun box for me!
