BecoBall with Rope - Value $12.36 USD
I had never heard of BecoBall before but I am really impressed by this toy. The ball is made from rice husk rubber and the entire toy is eco-friendly and non-toxic. I have to say it is extremely durable feeling and appropriate for a large dog. Oliver is a 13-year-old Bassett hound, so, unfortunately, he isn't up for a lot of play and tugging these days. However he enjoys going to our local dog park, so we're going to share this toy with our neighborhood friends.
Here is a closer look at the rice husk rubber. It is a substantial 3" diameter and has a nice weight to it.
GooDog Grain-Free Sweet Potato Bones - Listed Value $6
Now, this is something Oliver really enjoys - treats! He doesn't have any allergies, but I feel good knowing these are grain-free and made from sweet potato. The back of the package notes the ingredients and nutritional info, along with the size of the treats. They also handwrote the expiration date, which is careful attention to detail that I appreciate. The price of this bag is more expensive than your big-box dog treats, but I'm willing to pay more for a safe product made by a small business.
The packaging denotes size small, but these treats are the perfect size for Oliver. Here he is about to enjoy a star:
He loves these treats! They are pretty odorless, so he doesn't bark at his treat bowl (like when Barkbox treats or Milkbones are out), but when he sees me with one, he heads my way.
Pride Bites Mojito Toy - Value $9.99
How cute is this squeaky toy? It's about an inch thick and again very durable. There's a sticker on the front that promotes that this was awarded Best Dog Toy, but I'm not sure by which organization. Regardless, it's super cute, floats in water, and is machine washable. Oliver gave this to his Chihuahua cousin, who although smaller, has been carrying it around happily! Ragan also received this toy in the December RescueBox - make sure to check out her review too!
Rockin' Paws So Rockin' Clean Shampoo - Value $15.99
The first item in the box we can share is this cleansing shampoo. I learned when Oliver was a puppy that it's best to take him to a groomer instead of giving him a bath at home, so we have not tried it on him. However, humans can also use this product! The shampoo consists of a blend of rainforest oils and after testing this on my hand, my skin felt soft.
Something I totally appreciate is that this shampoo arrived securely taped so it would not leak. Bravo Surprise Pawty!
We also received a sample of Rockin' Paws Coat De-Matting and Shine Serum, which is made from avocado and jojoba oils.
Vince SF Store Dog Smartphone Stand - Value $9.99
One item for pet owners is this red cell phone stand, which I totally love. At first, the value of the product seemed a little steep, but then I realized it is a handmade item, which makes me appreciate this item more. For me, it's the kind of item I always need but have never bought. I'm constantly crafting and like to watch tv and listen to music on my phone, so now I won't have to prop my phone up against something random nearby. Vince SF Store also carries dinosaurs, elephants, birds, cats, and mustaches - so cute!
My phone feels secure in the stand and remains upright. Overall this is a quality item.
Dog Bone Carabiner - Value $0.53
New subscribers also receive this small carabiner in their first box, and I have found it to be pretty useful. Usually, when we take Oliver for walks, I grab my bulky key ring, but this is a nice solution. I hooked on the necessary key and clipped the carabiner to Oliver's leash. This will be perfect in the summertime when we're not wearing coats!
Roll of Earth Rated Waste Bags - Listed Value $0.87
As a bonus, subscribers received a bonus roll of waste bags. These have come in handy on our walks!
Verdict: This was a good first box from Surprise Pawty and I'm looking forward to next month. The value totals $55.73, which is great compared to the $39.99 a month cost (including shipping). Oliver is not able to use all of the products, so, unfortunately, a lot of the value was a miss for us, but we have been able to share safe products with other dogs we love.
