Now, onto the items!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0014

Chapstick Total Hydration Natural Lip Scrub - FULL SIZE! Value $5

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0015

I LOVE the Chapstick Naturals Lip Balms (thanks, subscription boxes!), so I was excited to try this natural lip scrub from the same line. It's a sugar scrub made with peppermint, so the flavor is fantastic, and it is moisturizing thanks to the many different oils in the formula!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0012

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion - .25 oz Value $1.50

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0013

Normally I love Burt's Bees natural scents, but I think I would have preferred this day lotion to be unscented. The Clary Sage scent is subtle, though, and the lotion formula is lightweight

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0019

Revlon Kiss Balm in Sweet Cherry - FULL SIZE! Value $5

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0021

This product is new to me, and I'm a fan! It's a tinted lip balm that gives a beautiful sheer wash of color, with shine and moisture, too. Here it is swatched:

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0024

And the cherry flavor is fab, too!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0009

Nexxus Comb Thru Finishing Mist - 1.6 oz Value $1.50

I got this in the Target Beauty Advent calendar, and I'm happy to have more of it! This is the perfect type of hairspray formula for me. The hold isn’t firm, so you can still run your fingers through your hair, and the scent is subtle.

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0016

eb5 Intense Moisture Anti-Aging Cream - .5 oz Value $3.80

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0017

This is a new brand to Target Beauty Boxes!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0018

I love that it is ingredient conscious, and it feels lovely and gentle on my skin. For a thick cream, it absorbed surprisingly quickly, too!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0010

Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse - 2 oz Value $1.50

This product is designed to help remove dulling product buildup and enhance shine. It’s free of parabens, phthalates, synthetic colors or fragrances, and it is color safe too. (Plus it smells like lemons!) I've received this in a few subscription boxes in the past, and it always makes my hair feel really clean - I highly recommend it!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0007

Amlactin Moisturizing Body Lotion - 2 oz Value $3.15

This creamy lotion is extra moisturizing and perfect for dry winter skin (it is fragrance-free, too.) If I could change one thing about it I would make the formula was paraben-free, but other than that, it's a serious lotion for hydration!

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0023

This box also included a card with L'Oreal Revitalift Serum and Cream samples:

target-beauty-box-january-2017-0022

FYI - if you prefer your skincare unscented, I would avoid sampling these - they both have added fragrance.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $21.50. I think that's a good value for a $10 beauty box, but it seems a little low compared to other Target Beauty Boxes. The full-size lip products make this box worth the $10 for me (I would pay full-price for each), and everything else is a bonus. I'm especially impressed with the eb5 sample!

I received my Jan Beauty Box yesterday, 1/30. It came with the enclosed coupon, however coupon was only valid until 1/29. Why wouldn’t it be good until the end of the month atleast? 🙁

Thanks so much for letting us know that the 10.00 target box went down to 7.00 I got one right away. I wish I could have gotten the 5.00 box it looked great to.

I bought one the day they originally came out, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ChapStick sugar scrub — far better than any other sugar scrub I’ve tried. I also really like the Revlon balm, which I got in Sweet Cherry. Knowing I might get another flavor/shade seals the deal of buying another box! Now we’ll see if the coupon from the first box will be valid to buy another box.

About those teeny L’Oréal foil packets (and most skin care foil packets) — there usually is enough product for two uses, and I’m soooo tempted to try closing the packet back up, maybe with tape, and putting it in a little baggie and trying it the next day. I know you’re not “supposed” to do that for sanitary reasons or whatever, but if it’s not going on my lips or the waterline of my eyes, it seems like it would be okay.

This box is on sale for $7! I finally caved and nabbed one.

Got this when it first went on sale, but I just grabbed a 2nd box. That price drop is just too good to pass up! 😀

Lunalee

I got my boxes (ordered 2)! Love them, for the balms I got one Fresh Strawberry and the other one Crisp Apple.

I just received this today and I was missing two items! Both of the moisturizers are missing… I guess I’ll have to call Target and see what they can do. I don’t even know if I want a replacement box honestly. 😂

How’s the lip balm? That’s seems to be the only winner…

Reply ButtonReply

Cassie

Just go to the website and chat with a representative. They will probably just issue you a partial refund for the two items. If they mention sending a replacement, just ask if they can give you a refund instead. Target customer service is usually really nice and accommodating.

I would like to receive the $10.00 Target January Box. Can you please help me what I have to do. Thank you.

Lunalee

Hello Nicolette,

The link for the box is above or click on the Target Box picture and add to cart to purchase. ☺ They are still available!

Nan

FYI – the Advent calendar is $14.99 again.

I ordered both of these boxes, and both arrived today! I’m really excited! I loved the lip scrub and the hair spray from this box, and I really loved the other box, with the hair stuff (I’m apparently way into hair stuff right now), with the Shea Moisture, Carol’s Daughter, Miss Jessie’s Quick Curls packet! Also skin moisturizers! I’m super excited about all of it, really!

Don’t mind me, I’m sitting beside this ginormous box of Candy Club that arrived and I’ve eaten my weight in sugar :0 I don’t think I can handle this box coming every month.

Reply ButtonReply

Siren

In looking at the costs of these boxes, I’m surprised that the $5 box is the one that is so amazing, because I’d have thought that would be the one that cost more! That one is my fave! I love the other one too, but that $5 box is killer for me! I just checked to see if it was still available, just in case (it’s not). For $5, it really lit up my life!! 😀
Don’t get me wrong, the $10 box is great, but wow, that $5 box!

Reply ButtonReply

Veronica

Just got both of my boxes and I’m super happy. The Revlon balm I got was the peach flavor and it smells delicious! The lip scrub is is also awesome!

I also had issues with the shipping. I ordered both boxes at the same time and had separate shipping. Box 1 was “Tendered to USPS” on 1/6 and no other movement until today when both boxes just said delivered. Box 2 did arrived as expected. Either way nothing was damaged or missing so I’m happy with everything

Hi… very helpful because i had not received my two boxes yet i just saw my tracking information and just one have arrived (i am at work now) i hope the second one will be delivered by tomorro…or maybe the information has not been updated yet.

I wanted to know if you have a review for th $5 box?

Reply ButtonReply

DeanaCal

Last month when I got two boxes, the shipping notices came a few days apart, but had the same tracking number for both. Both boxes still arrived, but about a week apart. I’m sure the same thing is happening again. This month, I ordered a $10 and a $5 box for me, and one of each for my daughter who has a different address. I got all four tracking numbers, but both $10 boxes are stalled getting from UPS to the post office in a town a couple of hours from mine. One of the $5 boxes is scheduled for delivery today, and the other $5 box hasn’t been scanned since January 6, in Indiana. I’m in California. I’m just going to wait for another week and see what happens. That’s what I did last month and I eventually got everything.

Kira

1/11/17 this box is still available.

Becca

I received my $5 box today. I have noticed that the coupons in both January boxes expire on January 29th so you can’t use them for next months box. They used to last until the beginning of the next month. Not happy about that. It seems pretty calculated and shady.

Reply ButtonReply

Siren

Seems like the last time I tried to use one of those coupons on the beauty box, it didn’t apply anyway, because it wasn’t categorized a beauty item. I could be mistaken, though (I might be thinking of the Advent calendar).

I am so VERY disappointed! I ordered both January Target boxes just after 6 a.m. Eastern time. I received an order confirmation email, and it was showing that I ordered both boxes in my Target account. My card was originally charged $16.05, and I received two separate shipping emails. However, both emails contained the same tracking number. Although odd, I thought maybe for some reason they were shipping both boxes together. However, when I received only my $10 box yesterday afternoon, I decided to contact Target customer service. Nolan was not much help. He said I should receive it by this Wednesday, but he couldn’t tell me why I didn’t have a separate tracking # for the $5 box. I chatted with Sonia today, and she said she would refund me for the $5 box. I told her I had only been charged for the $10 box, but she gave me a refund anyway and apologized. I received an email confirmation for the refund, but it hasn’t shown up on my card yet. I am extremely disappointed. The CS reps would not come out and admit it, but obviously Target oversold the $5 box and was not even going to tell me. I just had to figure it out for myself. 🙁

SML

I had something similar happen, and my $5 box showed up today, so you might still get yours!

Reply ButtonReply

ME

I’ve had this happen very often and I receive the boxes days apart (almost 1 week during Christmas). Even this one I received one on Friday and the other one yesterday. Good luck.

Cassie

Oh!!! Well, maybe mine will still come then. Here’s hoping!

Nan

Do you really think that’s what happened? I keep hoping mine will miraculously show up in my mailbox.

Reply ButtonReply

Cassie

I’m not sure Nan, but that’s the only thing I can think of. If I was still supposed to receive the box, my original charge of $16.05 would probably still be there. I’ll keep you posted though. Maybe it will eventually show up. I hope yours does, too!

Cassie

I just reread my post and realized I left out a missing piece of the puzzle. My card was originally charged $16.05 for both boxes with tax. However, I noticed yesterday the $16.05 was no longer there; it was now only showing a $10.70 charge.

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

The probably changed the amount to account for your $5 refund/credit. That’s how they normally handle most of my refunds.

Diana

I liked the box but I was hoping for something a little bit “glammy”. It’s a great value or the price.

Anyone have experience with a lost box? Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday, but it hasn’t been scanned by UPS since 1/6. UPS told me they consider it “lost in transit,” and asked me to contact Target for a replacement. The Target agent wanted me to wait until 1/17, but I pushed back on that idea and she agreed to send out a new one. The email I received from Target said: You recently contacted us about sending a replacement for item(s) in your order. To complete this request, Target must receive the item(s) to be replaced by the date(s) listed below: 1/17. What? Are they asking me to send them the one I don’t have??? Also, in the new order that was created, it stated the price as $10. Are they charging me again? Ugh, I know this isn’t Target’s fault (this is my third lost UPS package in one month…) but this is annoying!

Reply ButtonReply

Sammie

My box hadn’t been scanned by ups since pick up, on the 5th. UPS said that it was because of the snow in certain states. Some UPS sites weren’t delivering due to road conditions. My box finally scanned today and should be arriving by Thursday. My original sleuth date was supposed to be yesterday.

Wendy

Same here. Mine has not moved since getting to Atlanta on 1/6. There have been no updates and I also received only one shipping number when it says both of my boxes shipped at different times. Not quite understanding what is going on.. I will check my bank statement though and see if charges processed. Thanks for letting everyone know about the issues.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Atlanta mail has been messed up the past few days because of the weather that started Friday afternoon. I had a bunch of packages delayed by pretty much every shipping service that are now starting to trickle in. (Except the one from Amazon that UPS lost…)

Lunasol

That is a standard email that they send when someone is requesting a replacement of an item. I received the same email when I had to request a replacement of an item that I received damaged. The sales rep told me to ignore it. It’s a standard email they send.

Reply ButtonReply

Lunasol

As for the $10 they are not charging you again. They need authorization to do that and it is a lost item by the carrier not you

Constance

Wish they would restock the $5 box…

Reply ButtonReply

Sally

Me too. I wanted to sample almost everything in that box. I am feeling better about the $10 box after Liz’s review.

Reply ButtonReply

caroline

The coupon I received in my December box had already expired. Bummer! Not good for a first time Target box purchaser.

Reply ButtonReply

Darcie

Caroline, call or email Target customer service and they will take care of that expired coupon. Their CS support is awesome!

Reply ButtonReply

caroline

Oh, that’s great! Thanks for letting me know!

Kathlene

I really enjoyed this Target box!!!! And I was even missing an item! My box was missing the lip scrub and I contacted customer service and they are sending a whole new box (should arrive today) which is perfect because I thought about buying a second one after the first one arrived. I’m obsessed with the Revlon lip balm! I received peach and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s hydrating and smells so good. I will use every time and definitely worth $10 for 8 items (especially since most of the items will give multiple uses)

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

This is by far my most favorite Target beauty box. That Revlon Balm? OMG are you serious! I literally went out the next day and bought more. I am obsessed! I love the Nexus hairspray too. This was a total 10/10 box for me!

Reply ButtonReply

Courtney

Am I the only one that ordered both boxes and have only received the $5 box? I just got that one today but the other one doesn’t look like it shipped yet, but I bought both at the same time.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacie

You’re not alone – I ordered both and they’re shipping separately for me too. No idea why lol

Reply ButtonReply

Dana

I had ordered one of these, and loved it so much I ordered a second. I’m obsessed with the Revlon balm – I got the cherry, also. Hoping my second box has another color. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

LB

Me too! I thought there must be something wrong with me when everyone else seemed like they liked the $5 box so much more. I only bought the $10 one and just came back today and bought I second! I will absolutely use everything in this box and wanted to buy the two lip products anyways so it was a no-brainer. I got the strawberry balm and am hoping for the cherry in my 2nd box.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Argh! I was so set to not buy this when it came out, but it looks so much better when you review it. Looking forward to the lip products, and I need an unscented lotion for my desk at work. Definitely makes it worth the $10

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie

I passed it up to until I saw this! Dang it all 😉

Reply ButtonReply

Ria

Right!!! Darn I so wanted to pass on this box. Guess I’m getting a target box

Reply ButtonReply

Lunalee

Same thing happened to me, lol. I caved after this review.

Reply ButtonReply

tam

I didn’t order one when this first went on sale but I’ve changed my mind. I want to try that lip scrub, lip balm, and burt’s bees lotion. Thanks for another great review Liz.
