Every month, Target launches a beauty box, and it sells out very quickly. This month, they released two boxes, a $5 and $10 box. This is the review of the SOLD OUT $5 Box.
(The $10 box is still available - check out my review of the $10 Target January 2017 Beauty Box to see everything included!)

Now, onto the items!
Colgate Enamel Health Whitening Toothpaste - FULL SIZE! Value $3
I love getting toothpaste in subscription boxes (and thus, never having to buy it), and I'm impressed that we got a full-size toothpaste in this box! It's a super minty gel/paste formula designed to help with enamel and replenishing calcium while also making your teeth whiter. After trying it out a few times, I can say that I like the flavor and my teeth felt super clean after using it - so far so good!
Mane ’n Tail Shampoo - 2 oz Value $.40
I feel like this is one of those beauty products that has been around forever and has a big following! I keep going back and forth on whether or not to use products with sulfates on my color treated hair, so I'm donating this one (it is made with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), but if you've sampled this and recommend it, let us know!
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner - 2 oz Value $3
This might be my favorite item in the box! I LOVE the vanilla scent, and it's a light conditioner, so it didn't weigh down my hair - but it definitely made it softer. (And you can use it on wet or dry hair!)
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion - 50 ml Value $.90
Admittedly, this is one of those products I've seen in drugstores but never bothered to look at closely. I had no idea that this lotion is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, gluten, sulfates, and dyes! It has a sweet, coconut scent, and the lotion absorbs somewhat quickly (it feels a little oily at first), and definitely leaves your skin moisturized!
Miss Jessie’s Quick Curls - 1 oz Value $2.75
I've sampled this product before and it works pretty well for my hair. (I have naturally wavy hair with some curl.) It gave me slightly more defined curls, but I think I probably need to try it with scrunching my hair more and maybe drying it with a diffuser. Let me know if you have any curly hair tips!
(FYI - this product contain parabens.)
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes - 7 wipes Value $1.40
Another staple I'm ALWAYS happy to receive in a subscription box! I've sampled these wipes many times before, and they are great! No fragrance added, gentle on my skin, and works on waterproof eye makeup - all good things!
Vaseline Intensive Cocoa Radiant Lotion - 1 oz Value $.30
This lotion is much lighter than I was expecting! And it absorbed almost instantly! It gave my skin a bit of a health sheen, too.
(FYI - this product contain parabens.)
SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Shampoo - 15 ml Value $.40
SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Conditioner - 30 ml Value $.90
While I normally don't love getting foil packet samples, these are good for one full use, and I love the SheaMoisture brand, so this sample is a welcome addition to the box! (Plus I still keep reminding myself, this is a 5 DOLLAR BOX!)
If you aren't familiar with SheaMoisture, they are one of my favorite inexpensive ingredient-conscious brands. This shampoo and conditioner set isn't overly rosy, and the conditioner is double the size of the shampoo sample (both things I appreciate!).
Verdict: This box has a value of about $13. I think that's a good value for a $5 beauty box, especially considering that it also came with a $3 beauty coupon! (I really hope Target does more $5 boxes in the future - it's such a great value!)
