Wei Beauty Chinese Rose Foaming Cleanser, 1 oz - Value $5.67
I have received some products from Wei Beauty before and generally like their formulas. This is a cleanser with a pearly sheen, cushiony slip, and soft rose fragrance. It doesn't produce super plush foam but the lather is enough to feel like you're doing a good job cleansing. After washing my face, the skin feels refreshed without any tightness or dryness.
My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Mask - Value $1.62
My Beauty Diary is a Taiwanese brand and makes very popular sheet masks (they're even sold at Target!). This mask contains squalene, an oil that's naturally occurring in the body and acts as a moisturizer. The watery essence has a powdery floral fragrance and the fit is nearly perfect! After masking, the essence takes a while to dry down, but when completely absorbed, my skin is left soft and perfectly hydrated. There is no residual feeling except for the cheeks, which only feel slightly tacky. Overall this is a wonderful mask!
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, 1 oz - Value $3.28
DHC is a Japanese brand. This is THE classic cleansing oil and a holy grail product for many people. It works beautifully as a makeup remover, dissolving things like foundation, waterproof eyeliner, and matte liquid lipsticks with ease. Just remember to use with dry hands and face. The thin, slippery formula smells like olive oil (it is the first ingredient after all) when you first apply it to the face. After adding water, it emulsifies into a watery, milky liquid that washes off very easily with no greasy residue afterward. This is one of my favorite oil cleansers and I'm so happy to get a mini version to bring on travels!
SKINRx MadeCera Cream, 0.17 oz - Value $3.62
I was first introduced to SKINRx and its MadeCera line via last month's 3B Box. MadeCera is a compound word of ceramide and Madecassoside, which helps soothe, heal, and regenerate damaged skin. This cream aims to heal and repair damaged skin. A little bit of this formula goes a long way. Just a pea-sized amount to my dry forehead and nose hydrates and seals in moisture all night long. I'm happy to report that even my oily skin can handle this cream without feeling heavy or greasy.
The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Nose Strip - Value $2.17
This 3-step nose strip kit helps to remove blackheads and tighten pores. I don't use nose strips because apparently, I have a low pain tolerance. I know lots of people love it, but for me, the ripping part is 100% miserable and 0% satisfying. Go figure! This month I was lucky enough to recruit a friend in trying this kit out.
Step 1 is a damp nose patch that softens up sebum. After Step 1, you use a cotton swab to wipe away the excess sebum. Step 2 is the actual nose strip. You apply it to a damp nose, and after a while, the strip hardens like a cast, and you rip it off to remove blackheads. Step 3 is an essence-soaked patch that helps to tighten pores. According to my friend, the nose strip from Step 2 didn't give noticeable results, but she did like the essence from Step 3. I should note that she didn't have true blackheads either, so it's likely the nose strip wasn't being used to its fullest potential.
Verdict: This was a solid last month from 3B Box. The total value is $16.36, which is a little higher than the cost of the box. I am particularly fond of the curation this time around because there are great brands from a variety of origins. My favorite product is the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Even though it's not a new product for me, I will most definitely use it till the last drop.
