Now, onto the items!

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0016

Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Illuminating Primer - FULL SIZE! Value $36

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0017

Yay for full-sized Juice Beauty! I really like their Phyto-Pigments line (I've sampled a few of the lip products) and I recommend this line especially if you are looking for natural/organic makeup.

This primer did exactly I expected - it gave my skin a subtle luminous glow. It's a very natural looking finish (i.e. no sparkles) and made my skin feel a little smoother and primed for foundation. Unfortunately for me, I use a full-coverage foundation, so the subtle illumination is lost under it, but if you have more sheer coverage (or no foundation at all) I think this is a great primer.

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0014

Smart FX Volume Extend Mascara - FULL SIZE! Value $12

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0015

This mascara formula was great for adding length and lash definition. I had no clumping issues even with multiple coats. BUT! Volume? Not so much. I'd recommend this if you're going for more of a natural look.

Good to know: A few readers also mentioned they had flaking issues with this formula.

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0010

LaRoche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream - 3 ml Value $2.30

This CC Cream is designed for redness-prone sensitive skin! The formula gives sheer coverage, and SPF 30, too. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0012

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Lip Satin in Cashmere - FULL SIZE! Value $48

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0013

This formula is..interesting! It is described as their "unique blend of glycerine and pure pigments glide on effortlessly and dry down for a perfect semi-matte, long-wearing, velvety finish."

I really like this color - it's very wearable for me. But the finish feels a little tacky/weird. If you have any suggestions on how to deal with that - let me know!

Here it is swatched beneath the CC cream:

SkinMedica Total Defense and Repair Sunscreen - 1 oz Value $29.50

I'm used to TINY SkinMedica samples from Beauty Fix, so this full-ounce sample is a nice change of pace! This formula is fragrance and oil free, water resistant, and provides SPF 50 coverage. It's one of those sunscreens that is pretty heavy duty, so you have to rub it in a few times for it to disappear, but totally worth it! This is luxe sunscreen!

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0008

By Terry Baume de Rose - 3 g Value $18

Beauty-Fix-February-2017-0009

Another luxe beauty item to round out the box! This By Terry balm is one of those cult classic beauty items! You can use it as a lip or nail/cuticle balm. It has a super subtle rose scent and instantly improved the look of my cuticles. (I prefer lip balms in stick or crayon form, so this will be strictly nail-use for me!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $145! That's an amazing value for $24.95. Not every item was a hit for me this month, but I still feel like I got my money's worth and more.

At first glance, this box seemed light, since they usually include one or two more items, but the value is higher than typical. What do you think of the February 2017 Beauty Fix box? Do you prefer fewer items and higher value or more items?

As of today 2/17 - this box is still available if you sign up!

This seems like a very very nice box for $25.

I am beyond thrilled with this month’s box! Love the rose lip balm and the Kevin Aucoin is a perfect nude along with a Laura Gellar lip pencil I have. It lasts a long time and doesn’t feel tacky on me so I’m pleased. The mascara is flaky after the first coat, bummer. The illuminating primer is great when mixed with a tpuch of moisturizer and foundation on those days I forego my CC cream. I’m curious to try the CC cream and going to check the expiration date on the sunscreen now!! They took good care of me last month when my Manna Kadar lip primer came broken.

I’m more than a little angry that some customers are receiving free replacement boxes and/or pricey gifts to compensate for the expired SPF while others, myself included, are being told to suck it and get nothing. There should be a standard response for all customers. Since this is my 4th expired product in just over a year, I AM DONE. Undoubtedly the most inept customer service of all 92 beauty and lifestyle subs I had over the last 5 years, and believe me, I’ve had some horrible experiences so this says a lot.

It looks like you swatched the primer between the cc cream and lip gloss?

Heather

try mixing the primer with your foundation!!

I broke down and bought a full size by terry baum rose with their 20% off sale. It is by far the best product for dry lips I’ve ever tried. I am absolutely in love with it. I had bought a juice beauty foundation in that line, and it blends horribly, but the primer is wonderful. I didn’t notice a tacky finish to the gloss, but it didn’t seem to stay on long for me. Still, pretty color, so I will use it. Mascara was very flaky for me, as well. Not horrible, but too much to become an everyday use mascara for me.

That balm is heavenly. I lucked out and placed a customer service call about the expiration date on my skinmedica item, just wanted to get a replacement item for that, or any random skincare item same general value, and she just immediately said they would send me another box…so I ended up with two of everything. Sister got the primer and second lippy and loves them, I got both the balms though. So so so good. It works nice on little dry spots on face in a pinch too!

I bought this box and I loved it! I found that with the mascara if I used a lash primer, (I used Lancôme definicils lash primer) and then used this as a “top coat” it didn’t flake or get crusty. I also found the Kevin Aucoin lip satin strange like Liz said but if you use a lip stain first (let it set completely) and then use this lip satin it gives a beautiful gloss effect. I hope this helps?

Liz received an expired sunscreen too! Look at her picture- 1/17 expiration date…

I was upset to find my sunscreen expires next month, but the fact people are being sent ones that are already expired is completely unacceptable.

I really like the lip and nail balm, but right on the box is says ‘free sample, not for sale”

Thanks for the review I just signed up again after over a year break. Anyone know what the beautyfix gift with purchase is?? Gwp was added to my card and I have no idea what it is

Jenell

This was my first box and my free gifts with purchase were the Cellution C topical vitamin C .25 Fl Oz and the Pangea Organics facial cream italian red mandarin with rose 1 fl oz.
I had the chance to get $10 off or the gift with purchase and I’m glad I went with the gift with purchase.

Marissa

Wow thanks for the response that sounds like a great deal! I hope I get that or something similar. The Rose will have to be gifted or swapped though since I can’t stand the smell 🙁 makes my head hurt

Melissa W.

What was the coupon code for the gift with purchase please? Or where to find it. I looked everywhere and I can’t find it.

Michelle

Definitely reach out about the sunscreen expiration date. Within 72 hours, I received a $165 RV skinmedica gift set as a replacement and am aware that others did also. Pretty impressive recovery on one expired item in a $25 box.

I got no response but did notice a credit of $3.xx on my credit card. I would have appreciated some type of response. The credit could have easily been missed.

I received the same. More than made up for the expired product!

Can y’all tell me how to tell stuff is expired? I bought three of the boxes at xmas time that everyone was complaining were expired (had bought as gifts) got 3 all the exact same items….after reading the comments of everyone’s stuff being expired I called them, they told me none of my items were expired and that was that…I was left to keep all 3 boxes of…..probably expired items…that are still in their boxes, as I’m NOT giving expired face products as xmas gifts to people..I told them that when I called…they didn’t care! ‘

So, now, I probably have another expired item this month too?

I remember seeing someone saying there was a site you could check items? Any help would be appreciated! Because I had ZERO luck with my 3 expired boxes at xmas….

Thanks in advance!

Jazzy

Me too! Pleasantly surprised! Definitely made me feel like they care about their customers.

Was really disappointed with the expired sunscreen. This is the second time that I have been sent an expired product.

Kristen

Mine was expired also. I sent them an email and they are sending me a new one.

Reply ButtonReply

Donna

Unfortunately, that didn’t work for me. They just apologized and said that according to the mfg, it is good for three months past that day. Oh well, I tried.

Was really disappointed with the expired sunscreen. This is the second time I have been sent expired product!

Has no one noticed that its the February box but the Skinmedica sunscreen expiration date is 1/17?

Reply ButtonReply

abidina

It seems that everyone had different expiration dates – mine is unfortunately for March, but it’s just a deluxe sample version so that seems reasonable-ish. Dermstore has great CS, though. Just reach out.

The primer is very subtle. Even with no make up on i couldn’t really tell that much and i put a lot on. I like the kevin aucoin lip product, no stickiness for me but it is the exact same color as my lips. So I can’t see much except shine. I kind of miss the accessory/non-skin care item this month. I look forward to see what they throw in.

I was actually excited when I saw the spoilers but for once I’m glad I waited and saw the review without buying. This box is totally worth the value but nothing I need or don’t have 5 of already I need to use up. Thanks Liz for keeping it real!

abidina

Okay, this is weird because I saw everyone complaining about the Kevyn Aucoin Lip Satin but it had the exact opposite effect on me! It felt like I had no product on my lips at all, but the color was there. It was the lightest, most airy formula I’ve ever used. It didn’t last very long, but I really liked it.

Now what I’m FURIOUS about (lol) is that I’m gonna have to buy that $60 lip balm because it’s divine.

Michelle

Couldn’t agree more about both lip products!

Linda

I have that lip glide and ive triedseveral other kevin ones and none have been sticky or patchy like yours… 😲…i think somethings off…maybe its frozen or settled? Eeekkk….this is actually one of my favorite formulas of all lipies …. should be more like a velvety powdery thin but super pigmented and not drying stain almost…not goopy like a gloss or thick like a liquid lipstick😕
Sorry yours is off 😣 the rest of the box looks great…. cant wait to try the primer, maybe its a good sub for my algenist illuminator
