PBJ Smoothie Stick - FULL SIZE! Value $14.95

Birchbox-February-2017-0017

I love this lip crayon! It's creamy, it adds a little moisture, and the pigment is great. Here it is swatched:

Birchbox-February-2017-0018

This is a very wearable shade for me, and I love the semi-matte finish.

Birchbox-February-2017-0009

Bumble and Bumble Bb Repair Blow Dry - .5 oz Value $3.20

This hair cream smells lovely (like all Bumble and Bumble products I've sampled), and it is designed to help protect your hair before you blow dry it. It's a light formula so it doesn't weigh down your hair, and I've also tried it on dry hair just as a styling cream - it worked well!

Birchbox-February-2017-0011

Vasanti Eye Wonder 2.0 Super Powered Eye Cream - 3 ml Value $6.30

I've sampled Vasanti's face scrub many times before (I love it!) but this eye cream is new to me. It has all the things I look for in skincare: no detectable scent, absorbs quickly, and hydrates skin!

I can't say I noticed any differences between this cream any many other eye creams I've sampled, so it isn't something I must have and will buy in full-size, but I'll definitely use up this entire sample.

Birchbox-February-2017-0007

Acure Purifying Fruit Peel - .5 oz Value $8.20

This peel is made with active fruit enzymes, so it has a tropical fruity scent! I love the Acure brand (it's one of my go-to lines for affordable and ingredient conscious products), so I was excited to try this!

You leave it on for about 5 minutes, then rinse with warm water to remove. My skin sometimes reacts to peels, but I had no issues with this one. And it left my skin feeling soft and smooth!

Birchbox-February-2017-0015

CLEAN Reserve Perfume - 1.5 ml Value $1.40

Birchbox-February-2017-0013

This perfume is described as a blend of "mandarin oil, rose, lily, musk, saffron, and amber." It's not for me, but I will give it points for having a different scent profile than what I'm used to from perfume samples!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $34 - that's great for a $10 beauty box. In most cases, the curated box has a good value, so I recommend always picking it if that's a priority for you. My favorite item this month is the lip crayon - it alone is worth more than the cost of the box!

Found a loophole for the coupon. The item I wanted to buy was $46. Birchbox shop has a deal right now that if you buy something for $35, you get a free mystery sample pack (worth $10). I added the mystery sample pack to my cart, bringing my total up to $56. Then they took $10 off for the coupon, and another $10 off because the sample pack was free. In the end, I got my item and the sample pack for $36.

I found a loophole too! When I placed my order… I made the total go up to $52, by adding a bunch of stuff, some I didn’t even want just so I could get my total over $50 for the promo code. Then I added the $10 mystery gift, then the $10 Gimme10 promo code. I then went on to check out and right at the very last place order, they also have an edit order button… so I went to that and deleted all the other stuff I didn’t want, except for 3 different kits, I think 2 Laura Geller kits and a benefit kit. Well… my total ended up being $20, PLUS.. it still kept the $10 promo code and the $10 mystery pack!!! I was so happy!!! I was scared that they were going to send me an email saying they couldn’t fill my order, but they didn’t and it’s now on it’s way!!! But, when I tried a few days later on a different email account, they already fixed the glitch. But hey.. it might still work for someone else. Oh boy, I hope BB ain’t reading this…lol!

I left Birchbox 2 months ago and its boxes like this that make me so glad I did. The small samples they send always left me feeling disappointed and sad.

I love Clean perfume. I’m absolutely obsessed with Reserve Warm Cotton, but Skin is great too. My sister got me a sample of Reserve Warm Cotton but I really think I have to suck it up and buy a bottle. I’m not a huge fan of the colors from the PB&J sticks, but I’m glad it’s a good match for you!

I haven’t tried Birchbox but I do follow the reviews. I have to say this is the first box that has ever attracted me from this sub. I like all of the brands offered. This is a perfect package for my needs. Can do without anything scented with “cotton” or “clean” though.

Clean is the brand name, they have a lot of different scents. Not gonna lie, Reserve Warm Cotton is the best perfume I’ve ever smelled in my life. But I like those type of scents, lol

My items were so uber-tiny and skimpy this month! 🙁

My (first) box was so, so, so disappointing.

I signed up for a year because I figured it made sense financially. Does anyone know from experience – will they cancel your sub and refund your money, minus the full cost of the boxes you received? I.e. If you paid $99 for a year, would they refund $87 if you cancelled after your first box?

I will wait to see what happens with next months box, but I am far from satisfied with this box.

Same….after a year in….I’m STILL WAITING to get to select the box I want…NOT ONCE have I ever got to select the one box I want…but yet, I keep it because they show one spoiler that oh, I want that…which is in the box…I NEVER GET! But…I justify it as…its $10…but…yes, I’m mad monthly with them…get Ipsy…ten times better! You can review your items…YOU tell them the kind of items you want…they send you those items only. For instance…yes, I’m 46…I DO NOT want any skin care nor body care crap…I do not care if THEY THINK I’m old….send me what you send 20 year olds! I only want make-up….ipsy is about the only sub (and I sub to pretty much all of them) that allows for full customization. I have my profile filled out no skin care, no face wash, no body products, no masks…yes to nails, tools, and makeup! I think after my first bag or two….the only time I got a mask was last month and I got 2, but that was in addition to my 5 items, making my Ipsy have 7 items…clearly I wasn’t complaining about it, as I had bought all 3 of my girls Ipsy subs for Christmas….none got the exact same items out of the 4 of us. The 14 and 18 year old neither got masks, only got 5 items…the 23 and I got almost the same items, and the masks? except she got a makeup brush that I didn’t get, can’t remember I think I got…get this…a manna Kadar product 😂 in the place of her makeup brush (2 of my girls got brushes that month, both different brands and kinds of brushes)
Trust me…for a $10 sub…if you don’t already have…do Ipsy! Sorry to hijack a birchbox with Ipsy talk, but I’m REALLY IRKED………just came back from buying their twice as gold set or whatever it is….I had points expired a few days ago and like 150 more were expiring tom….have I gotten ANY NOTICE? NOPE! How nice!

Melissa

It seems pretty obvious that you haven’t enabled email notifications on your account yet. When you get the notifications, they tell you when your points are expiring and you get the chance to choose a sample or a curated box every month.

Ann

IPSY is pretty flexible if you work with their customer service. I’ve been happy with this sub. I’ve been getting it for about 1.5 years now.

Jadette

I got the following in my curated box:

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle
dr. brandt® microdermabrasion skin exfoliant (my 5th sample of this in the last 2 weeks)
Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads
Obliphica Professional Seaberry Serum – Fine to Medium
The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick

I think it’s funny that for a month that is supposed to celebrate lips, I received only 1 lip item and 2 hair items.

Would be interested in trying the Collagen Eye Pads.

Outside of the dr. brandt item, all of the other products are new to me and products that I will at least try, so I am happy (not super excited though) with this box.

I didn’t even receive a lip product. I received three face products and an eye shadow. 😏

My Birchbox this month was a total disappointment. The only item I was excited about is what I had selected. I find it really annoying that there are so many perfume samples. There was one perfume sample that I ever liked in the years of subscribing. They need to start doing it like Sephora…the perfume sample is a bonus and not one of the samples.
The lip product was the Laqa&Co lip color that was supposed to provide moisture all day. First off, it looked like someone had already played around with it since the color was everywhere and second, it dried out my lips.

Great review! I loved everything in my box! I was scared of the lip color at first too, but it I put it on lightly and with a little clear lip gloss and it looks great!

I didn’t choose the curated box, I rather have the surprise. In general I was fairly disappointed because all of my items were (for the most part) tiny sample sizes. But I will say there were some nice items in it, even if they were very small.

I got the Dr Lipp Miracle Balm, it was fine and my lips felt moisturized. But in general I wasn’t too impressed.

I got dry shampoo (I’m still new to using dry shampoo) and it was okay.

My lip product was the Laqa avo lip butter in Ninza. It was actually lighter than it looks (which I was happy about). The first time I used it it clumped up into my lip line, I was not pleased. When I tried it again (this time exfoliating my lips first) it looked much better, and no clumping. I’m still not a huge fan, but I’ll use it until it’s gone.

I also received Vasanti Brighten up Enzyamtic Face Rejuvenator. I used it once and it was nice, plus the sample is a nice size.

My last product was my favorite (I even decided to buy it because I loved it so much 😁) was the Supergoop Daily CC cream. I’ve actually never used a CC cream before, but the way it made my make up look, I had to buy it. I’ve used this daily since I received it, a little goes a long way so I thought it was worth the splurge. My makeup lasts longer and it definitely helps covering up the redness and evening out my skin tone.
