The first thing I saw in my box was a thank you/contact card.
My Story Ribbed Cross Neckline Sweater - Value $35?
(96% cotton, 4% spandex; hand wash cold, line/hang dry)
I really don’t wear a lot of white, but I love this little criss cross neckline trend that’s been going on lately. This sweater has a looser fit to it – if it were any larger I wouldn’t wear it. But I’m fine with the fit because that’s probably just the design, and it’s still flattering. It definitely seems like a nice transition piece into Spring!
Hers & Mine Drape Cardigan – Value $28?
(95% polyester, 5% spandex; hand wash cold, line/hang dry)
I wasn’t sure I’d like this sweater when I first pulled it out of my box but it is so soft and comfortable! The sleeves are nice and long, too, which I love. The fabric feels a little slinky and is lightweight, so it’s perfect for a Spring layer. Here, it’s shown open but I also really like it tied in the front, shown below:
Not a style I usually wear, but I think it’s cute and really flattering. This isn’t something I’d think about picking up myself but after trying it on, I like it.
Ella Mara Floral Hoodie – Value $30?
(95% rayon, 5% spandex; machine wash gentle, tumble dry low heat)
The floral print and colors of this hoodie are so pretty! The fabric is soft and comfortable, too. It’s a lighter weight hoodie which is, again, great for Springtime/transitional weather. My one comment is that this hoodie seemed to have a smaller fit – a little snug in the top/shoulders and especially the sleeves. It still fits okay, but I would think that this size large would fit more comfortably on a size medium. If you’re someone who tends to wear snugger hoodies then this would be fine, but if you’re like me and like some comfy wiggle room in hoodies, a size up would fit better.
Umgee USA Tote
This tote is a pretty pink and has a Umgee USA design printed on both sides. It’s a well-constructed, simple, canvas tote. It’s handy, but it’s not something I would consider a fashion accessory or anything, but that’s okay because it’s just an extra bonus subscribers got with this box. I’ll probably use it for groceries or toddler toys and books for the car.
Verdict: I had a fun time with my first Citrus Hill Clothing Mystery Box. I was pleasantly surprised to like the tops more once I tried them on, and I like the theme of Springtime Sweaters – not something I would have thought of, but all three items are great transitional pieces! However the page for this box says that the items fit true to size, but I thought the hoodie ran small. The white top may simply be designed to have a looser/tunic-esque fit, but the fact that one item has a looser fit and one item runs snug means I couldn’t just size up for the box to get a hoodie that fits me better, because then the white sweater would be too big on me. I really like the look of the floral hoodie but I think it’s just a bit snug for me to reach for as it is.
The value is a little hard to estimate for boutique brand items, too, so I estimated based off what I know of boutique brands from my other subscriptions. I’m good with what I got for the price, which really comes out to $25/top – all in all, I’m happy.
What do you think about Citrus Hill Clothing Mystery Boxes? I am looking forward to seeing their future themed boxes!
