Check out all of my old Arcade Block reviews to get more information on the original subscription. Check out all of our Geeky Subscription Boxes in the Subscription Box List. Rate, review, and follow this subscription on the Gamer Block: E For Everyone profile page.
You'll typically know at least 3 of the franchises featured before your box ships. It also looks like they're working towards monthly themes as well.
With the M For Mature box, you can expect items from games with more mature ratings.
You'll get a mini magazine that contains stories and product information.
You'll still get a $10 voucher to the Nerd Block store. Mine is free to the first use to redeem it!
Tomb Raider Shirt - Value $15?
This month's exclusive shirt features Lara Croft! The t-rex from the original Tomb Raider was quite the moment in gaming back then - so it's fun to see it brought back in this shirt.
Metal Gear Solid Carboard Box Pin - Value $5?
This month includes a pin - which may always be the case with this subscription (it's not guaranteed anywhere). How great is this pin? Again, this comes from another game changing video game - Metal Gear Solid.
Fallout Vault Boy Bobble Head - Value $23 on Amazon (different variations have different prices)
This month includes a Fallout Vault Boy bobblehead.
I've received 2-3 of these in other subscription boxes, and have yet to receive a duplicate - but, this one is my absolute favorite.
I got 'Luck' - but there were 7 different variations you could have received - what did you get?
Sniper Elite 4 Light
The next item is from the Sniper Elite franchise.
This little keychain projector projects a crosshair with its light.
Event[0] Steam Game - Value $19.99
This is one of the coolest Steam games I've received in a box - ever.
This is a first-person survival game where you are stranded on a spaceship. It's not about escaping and killing aliens, instead, it's about working with the AI and making decisions that build trust with the AI that gets you home. It's kind of like playing 2001: A Space Odyssey with a Mogwai soundtrack. It's cool.
I also love the packaging. The game box gives it more of the feeling that you're opening a video game. It's the small things to us old gamers sometimes.
The Revenge of Shinobi Art Print - Value $10?
The final item is a Revenge of Shinobi print and I LOVE it!
I'm typically not big on prints - but I love that this is simply the cover art of the game. I'd happily collect cover art prints of my old favorites!
Verdict: This was a great box for me. The game alone is fantastic and worth $20 - and everything else more than covers the cost of shipping. Now that I have received both versions of Gamer Block, I would say the ratings of the boxes are going to relate to which games are captured in the items and what type of Steam game you will receive. Overall, I am liking the change and the inclusion of a video game in every box! So far, so good!
