UPDATE: As of late 2017, Morgans has rebranded as Public Goods. They still offer a free membership trial similar to the one we've reviewed here, but the appearance of the products and some of the products themselves may have changed.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Morgans sent us numerous essentials to try!

Before getting into each item - let me try to explain how the Morgans subscription works.

Morgans gives you 3 different ways to purchase their products.

  1. One-Time Purchase: Simply select the product you want and click 'Ship Once' to place your order.
  2. Recurring Monthly Shipment: Select the products you want to receive monthly and click 'Ship Monthly'. You will pay full price for your selections each month until you unsubscribe.
  3. Membership: Select the products you want and click 'Pay 75% Less'. From here, you'll have different options of how to proceed. See Below.

Screen Shot 2017-02-10 at 3.08.58 PM

If you choose to become a member, you'll pay a monthly fee ranging from $8 per month with an annual subscription (the total coast is paid upfront) to $12 per month (paid monthly) until you cancel.

The benefit to becoming a member is that, for the cost of one $12 product, you'll get every product they have available at about 75% off of what you'd pay without a membership - so your shampoo costs $3.31 per month instead of $12 per month. This will make it easier to stock up on all of their products on a monthly basis, should you choose.

If you buy 2-3+ products a month, the membership cost is worth it - and you can get your first month free, so it's a low-risk way to try out this brand.

OK - still with me? Here are some of their products.

Morgans-February-2017-0017

Moisturizer - 4oz - Cost $12 (Member price: $3.03)

The first item I've sampled is their moisturizer. It comes in a pump to easily dispense. Overall, I like the product - it has a fragrance, but it's just a minimal scent - and it's done a great job moisturizing my hands.

Morgans-February-2017-0024

Soap - 5oz - Cost $6 (Member Price: $2.84)

I love the smell of this soap - there's a subtle citrus scent.

Morgans-February-2017-0023

The soap also includes some moisturizer for added smoothness.

Morgans-February-2017-0010

Morgans-February-2017-0011

Shampoo - 8oz - Cost $12 (Member Price: $3.31)

This has a very similar citrus scent - it smells like there is a touch of orange. Since Morgans provides one line of products, it makes sense that they'd have a similar scent.

Morgans-February-2017-0008

Morgans-February-2017-0009

Conditioner - 8oz - Cost $12 (Member Price; $2.91)

You guessed it - same simple and subtle scent to the conditioner. My needs for shampoo and conditioner are basic, so these have been great.

Hand & Body Wash - 8oz - Cost $10 (Member Price: $3.63)

The scent is echoed in the final bath item, the body wash. I like that there is no variation to choose from - if you like it, you like it - it makes it easier for me to buy a product when I don't have to choose between a ton of different scents.

Morgans-February-2017-0014

Morgans-February-2017-0015

Deodorant - 2.5oz - Cost $9 (Member Price: $3.49)

The deodorant is almost a mix between a gel and hard deodorant. Again, the scent is the same as your shower products - so you'll be fully unified post-shower.

Morgans-February-2017-0018

Razor Handle - Cost $18 (Member Price; $11.02)

This is really just a one-time purchase - you can add it to you first delivery and remove it from subsequent deliveries. It's well crafted, with good weight and the wood composite handle gives it a nice classic barbershop look!

Morgans-February-2017-0020

Razor Blades - Cost $10 (Member Price: $3.04)

Once you have your handle, you can keep stocking up on a pack of 4 blades each month.

Morgans-February-2017-0021

These are standard 3-blade razor blades.

Morgans-February-2017-0006

Morgans-February-2017-0007

Shaving Cream - 6oz - Cost $12 (Member Price: $3.31)

This is the first product to diverge from that citrusy scent, instead, you'll find a nice refreshing peppermint - I like it!

Verdict: I like each of the Morgans products I received, although I haven't used the razor products since I'm a bearded person. My favorite part of Morgans is the removal of choice paralysis. If I need body wash, I order the product called body wash, and so on. That works better with how I shop! As a creature of habit, I tend to stick with products I know I like - so this can be an easy way to ensure that I'm always in stock without even thinking.

What do you think of Morgans?

I was getting this box for awhile and really enjoyed the simplicity of it. I really only stopped getting it because my husband missed the “fun” smelling stuff. He apparently was using my bath products because he liked the smell.

I do not know if they still offer it but you could also order toliet paper through them. It was great stuff.

Though the idea is great, some of the ingredients make me raise a brow and the fact that so much is coconut based takes the option of even trying it out of the equation for me.
The moment I find a sub that has the option of really being coconut-free I wont even think for 2 seconds at membership.

What the heck is the ‘great moisturizer’ that is listed as an ingredient in the soap? That concerns me a bit…

Reply ButtonReply

Morgan

Vegetable Glycerin is a great moisturizer. It’s a mistake on these boxes. Sorry about this.

Jackie

I was just about to comment this! Had to do a double take when reading that “wait what great moisturizer??”

They actually have pretty great ingredient list and exclude so many bad things!

Id say they are 87 TIMES better than most brands out there!

I don’t get this. How are they going to make a profit with this business model?

Reply ButtonReply

Morgan

We sell our products at cost. We charge $12 a month membership. All our profit is in that $12. It’s a win win. We make exactly $12 a month per customer. Customers get all our products at true cost.
