Aritaum Ginger Lip Scrub 12 g/0.42 oz - Value $10
This is a hydrating lip scrub that contains ginger and sugar to keeps lips moist and flake free. I own several lip scrubs, but this is the first one that claims to be a hydrating scrub. In reality, it performs more like an intensive lip balm. It kind of feels like solid coconut oil with bits of ginger and sugar crystals mixed in. Overall, it doesn't do much in the scrubbing department! However, the thick, occlusive nature of the product makes it very moisturizing, and a little bit goes a long way.
Goodal Waterest Lotus Water Cleansing Tissue - Value $5
I was first introduced to this cleansing tissue in the August 2016 3B Box, and I loved it! The Lotus Water Cleansing Tissue is part of the Waterest line, which features fermented seed oils. The tissues have a soft, luxurious fragrance that I can't get enough of. Just one wipe is enough to clean off all my day makeup. The material is also very soft and very gentle, perfect for any skin type. Also, this is the perfect size for travel!
Manyo Factory Galactomy Clearskin Toner 158 ml/5.3 oz - Value $26
According to PinkSeoul, this toner gently cleanses and moisturizes the skin, prevents skin dryness, fights inflammation and blackheads, tightens pores, and improves skin tone. It states on the bottle that it contains AHA and BHA, which are both gentle chemical exfoliants that are especially great for acne-prone skin. The bottle has a spray applicator, which is perfect because I can apply directly to my face instead of needing to use cotton pads. The toner is neither hydrating nor drying, but it absorbs very quickly and leaves skin prepped for the rest of my skincare routine. I have nothing but good things to say about this product!
Petitfee Collagen & CoQ10 Hydrogel Eye Patch - Value $18
These are hydrogel under eye patches that are infused with collagen and Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to help rejuvenate and soften the skin. There are 60 patches (or 30 pairs) total.
The patches are clear and soaked in essence. There is a slight fragrance but it goes away quickly. A mini spatula is provided to help pry the patches apart. I recommend sticking these in the fridge, too, for a chilled masking experience.
Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Cream 45 ml/1.5 oz - Value $10
This was in the December 2016 PinkSeoul Plus Box, and I have been using it to great results since then. It is a lightweight gel cream that melts into watery consistency once massaged into the skin. The fragrance is a soft, watery floral. The cream contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid, and it helps with hydration and brightening overall skin tone. Also, it is suitable for all skin types. I like to use this as my day cream because it absorbs quickly and leaves skin soft and smooth with no residue.
Clio Pro Play Eyelash Curler - Value $3.25
This month's accessory item is an eyelash curler (with one pad refill) from Clio. I'm so excited to see Clio since it is rarely seen in subscription boxes. Its sister brands, Goodal and SooAe, do make more appearances, though.
The curler performs well as far as I can tell. I actually like it better than my old curlers because the curvature matches my eye shape perfectly. Never has curling my lashes been this painless!
SNP Animal Dragon Soothing Sheet Mask - Value $3
I first sampled this in the November PinkSeoul Mask Box. It is a sheet mask with a dragon printed on the cotton. It contains coconut water, licorice root extract, and knotweed extract for calming and soothing properties. The fit is only average because the dragon print makes the mask stiffer than regular ones, so it doesn't adhere to all the contours of my face. The watery essence absorbs quickly after use, but it does leave a slightly sticky residue.
Nature Republic Real Nature Mask in Green Tea - Value $1.50
I received this mask in the December PinkSeoul Mask Box and had a generally positive opinion on it. This mask provides deep hydration with green tea. The mask itself is very wide! It reaches past my hairline and almost hits the ear. The scent is a combination of alcohol and added fragrance. The essence is watery so it absorbs quickly after use, leaving my face hydrated and soothed. However, I do notice some residual stickiness on the skin.
Etude House Royal Honey Essential Emulsion sample
Included in the box but not listed on the card are two samples. This emulsion is creamy and of light to medium weight. It smells like honey. It absorbs pretty quickly and leaves skin smooth and moisturized. A quick search online tells me this sample is 7 ml.
Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask sample
This wash-off mask smells exactly like watermelon Jolly Rancher candy! It is a mask of gel-like consistency. My face honestly didn't feel any different before and after. In fact, I think I had a reaction to it-- my cheeks and chin now have lots of tiny non-acne bumps on them. I'm pretty bummed...
Verdict: PinkSeoul hit it out of the part with curation this month! The item variety suits my tastes and the brands are all amazing. I love the Manyo Factory toner, and I'm so happy to receive backups of the Goodal cleansing tissue and Mizon gel cream. The total retail value is around $76.75, which is almost twice the cost of the box.
