stylogic-february-2017-note

This month, I received a note from my stylist that goes into some detail about her choices for me. I like the fact that she includes great styling suggestions!

This is the invoice that was included in my box, showing the cost of each item that I decide to keep.

When I signed up, I had to complete a style quiz to create my style profile. It included sizes, but also what kinds of looks I prefer, how I like my clothes to fit, and whether I am looking for work, event, or travel clothing. I did notice that casual was not an option. In any case, I would expect items to vary substantially from subscriber to subscriber.

Black Cold Shoulder Handkerchief-Hem Top - Cost to keep $65

I love this top! The colors are perfect and the cut is really flattering. Cold shoulder tops are not always flattering on me, but this one is, I think. It's also a nice comfortable knit.

Starling Wash Bootcut Jeans - Cost to keep $75

I am always wary of light wash jeans, but I think I really like these! I don't think the wash is fattening at all, somehow. I love the bootcut, and that they are just about the right length for me as-is. They also have a bit of spandex in them, and they are super soft and comfortable.

3/4 Sleeve Crochet Shoulder Blouse - Cost to keep $65

Wow, the crochet work is really beautiful on this blouse. I like it a lot! I think it's pretty flattering, too. It's just that the fabric is a chiffon and has no stretch to it, so it's a tiny bit uncomfortable. I can't decide if it's cute enough to overlook that minor discomfort.

Matte Jersey Shift Dress - Cost to keep $85

I like the idea behind this dress, but I don't think it's particularly flattering. I'm also not wild about these colors together.

Taupe Tie-Up Ankle Boot - Cost to keep $69

I am also wearing these booties in the picture with the dress if you would like to see them on me. These boots are super cute! They're just a wee bit tight, though, and they are synthetic so they probably won't stretch well. I think these have to go back.

Verdict: I loved my package from Stylogic this month! I think my stylist really paid attention to my likes and dislikes, and I couldn't be happier about that! I absolutely love the floral top, and I think I might be falling in love with these jeans, too! I think Stylogic is a great styling service, and I really appreciate the personalized attention.

I would never sub to a clothing subscription that does not list brands or accurate pricing. At those prices, they should be decent brands- yet they don’t list them ( I wonder why).

Looking at the links – the top looks so much better on Anna than it does on the model. How often does that happen?? 🙂

Anna

OMG! That never happens, but thank you so much Asha! You are too sweet!!!

In looking at the links Julie provided it appears the two items are Macy’s exclusives (only sold at Macy’s); but they are obviously the same items as Stylogic sent, it makes me wonder: 1. How does Stylogic source their items (do they have a partnership with Macy’s), and 2. Do they deliberately inflate some of the prices, since the original price on the shirt is $44.50 (Stylogic’s price is $65), but the original price of the jeans is $79.50 (so slightly more than Stylogic’s price of $75). I’m very curious what they say to the price matching.

Kathy

They told me that they do not price match, so I discontinued my boxes.

I agree that the first outfit is so flattering and cute! The strong colors work really well with your complexion. I like the second top and the crochet but it’s a bit washed out in color. Plus, if you don’t think it’s comfortable, you’ll probably never wear it.!

Anna

Good point Ang. Thanks!

Sarah

I like the cold shoulder top on you a lot! That’s really saying so much because I do.not.like. cold shoulder tops at all!!

Anna

Thanks Sarah!

Aria

You are adorable and I love that you take the risk and ask for feed back. I like the jeans, but they seem a little long on you. Are you going to hem them? Wear them with a chunky heel peep-toe bootie?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Aria! You’re sweet. Yes, I was thinking since these are just a hair too long I would just manage them with heels. Good thinking!

Amy

Is this subscription less expensive than Stitchfix?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Hi Amy, it looks like the styling fee is $5 more for Stylogic, butboth boxes deduct that from whatever you keep.

Melissa

Everything was flattering and fun, but the dress. I bet you could find cuter shoes too! I LOVED both tops–beautiful!!!

Anna

Thanks Melissa!

I based part of my vote on your review. Liked it all on you! I do agree that pattern location on the dress could be much improved. As far as the second blouse and booties, whenever I’ve made a purchase I don’t completely love and feel comfortable in it ends up not being worn. The exception would be heels and formalwear. Nobody ever bought a Prom or Wedding dress b/c it was as comfy as their favorite sweats.

Great points, Teri!

The cold-shoulder top is AMAZING!! KEEP IT!

Thanks Asha! I think I will!

Really thought the jeans and cold shoulder top looked great on you.

First of all, I adore that cold shoulder top on you. Secondly, the placement and design of that paisley on the dress is downright… Inappropriate? Gross? Lol oh dear. Maybe it’d be better started at the chest like Julie said. 🙈😮

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

It’s like stylized lady bits to highlight your…lady bits?! Hahaha!! It must have been designed by a man! 😛

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

O.M.G. Haley! Sarah! Y’all! I did not even think about that. Wow! Ew! Yikes!

Haley Faye

Unfortunate in the very least, LOL.

Julie B.

Cute looks. I found it hard to vote because I like the two tops, but personally wouldn’t pay the listed prices. As for the dress, I really liked the two designs but it would’ve been cute if the paisley started up at the chest.

Anna

Thanks Julie!

Lisa

The first outfit looks fantastic! Keep the jeans and the cold shoulder top! Cute. 🙂

Tammy

Yes, yes to the first two too!

I like the second shirt, but it pales in comparison to the first.

Anna

Thanks y’all!

I so agree!!!! The first outfit is super flattering!!!
