The Oxford Trunk is an online boutique that sells very funky ladies' clothing and accessories. I love their style! Their monthly mystery box gives you a choice among:

  • Boho, preppy, girlie, and classic styles
  • Large (3-5 items with a retail value of at least $85) or small (1-2 items with a retail value of at least $30, no clothing)
  • Pierced ears or non-pierced

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This review is of the Small Boho for Pierced Ears, $15 a month, box.

This month's package included a coupon for 10% off in the Oxford Trunk shop!

Just as a note, these are items that The Oxford Trunk does not carry on its website usually, so I don't have any basis for providing links or retail values usually. I have heard that they send a lot of their sample items, which would make sense, but I have no way of knowing if that's true or not.

Cage Ring

I actually already received this ring in my December box. At that time, I mentioned that's it's a little long to be a ring, and some readers thought it might be a scarf ring. That's a brilliant use for it! I still don't think I need two of them, though. I'm a little disappointed.

Laurel Wreath Necklace

This necklace is very cute! It's also very short, as you can see from the third picture. It won't fit on me as-is, but I have some chain extenders, so it's fine. I think these short necklaces are way cute, and they seem to be very popular at the moment also.

Verdict: I love The Ox Box, but I was pretty disappointed to receive a repeat piece this month. I like the necklace a lot, though, so it's a bit of a mixed verdict. I will say, though, that although I do not have any way to know the retail values of the pieces, I have always thought what I receive every month is well worth the $20 box cost.

Hi Anna, I was wondering if you had any info on how to subscribe to this box. I have been checking their website for the past month and it seems that all of four different styles of boxes and both sizes have been sold out for quite some time now. I tried emailing customer service and haven’t received a response. I thought maybe you or another MSA member had any more info. Maybe I’m missing something???

Hi Ashley. I ordered this box at the beginning of January and did not have this problem. I looked at the site and see what you mean. I will see what I can find out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Thanks, Anna!! Maybe you’ll get further than I have. But it almost makes me think with the lack of response from my email and the duplicate item you received…makes me wonder. Also a lot of the internet search pages were “not found.” Very strange.
