Wigglebutt Box is a subscription box for dogs. Items are chosen based on your dog’s size (choose “small” at under 20 pounds, “medium” for dogs 20-50 pounds, and “large” for dogs over 50 pounds). You can also specify how tough your dog is with his or her toys (“gentle/1,” “average/2,” or “ruff!/3”). For those of you who read my dog box reviews, you’ll know Nyx is in the “ruff!” category.
My helper strikes again.

There was an information card detailing the items in the box – this month had a Valentine’s Day theme (though it did arrive after Valentine’s Day).
See’s Candies Puppy Love Chocolates (4.8 oz) – Value $5.90
For reference, the information card was clearly marked – no chocolate for dogs! Wigglebutt Box usually includes one gift for pet owners. This was in good shape and I tried a few pieces last night. They were delicious. And very high in calories. But delicious. (Note: this is on sale now because Valentine’s Day is over. The original price was $7.85.)
Best Bully Sticks 12” Odor Free Bully Stick – Value $4.99
Unfortunately, Nyx can’t have bully sticks due to her IBD. But there are a lot of dogs in my extended family who would appreciate this so this will get passed on to one of them. I can’t comment on the “odor-free" part because I have a terrible cold at the moment and can’t smell a thing. These are made in the USA, which of course is super important with dog chews.
Seasonal Kerchief – Listed Value $6
There has been a seasonal kerchief in every Wigglebutt Box I’ve received, I think. Nyx doesn’t quite get posing for the camera (I did get a kind of good shot of her wearing this; see below). But I do want to point out that these typically fit her quite well, even with her thick Rottweiler neck. (I took the value from the information card.)
Amazon Basics Dog Waste Bags (1 roll) – Value $0.22
There is usually a roll of Amazon Basics dog waste bags in Wigglebutt Box. I actually have bought the 900-pack of these after discovering them here. They are about the cheapest ones I have found but still good quality. I use them to pick up after Nyx but they are also handy receptacles for when scooping out my cats’ litter boxes.
Zippy Paws Squeakie Pad Ladybug – Value $5.99
We have a lot of ZippyPaws toys, thanks to subscription boxes. I feel like the quality is getting better, too. This lasted Nyx a little while (until she pulled one antenna off). Be prepared for a very annoying squeaker.
Petstages Sling Sock – Value $6.99
This is a pretty basic ball-in-a-sock toy. We played fetch with it some in the living room. I think it would be even better outside but it was like 11 PM (and cold and windy) when I gave Nyx these toys, so maybe another time.
Preppy Puppy Large Heart Gourmet Cookie – Listed Value $3.99
Preppy Puppy is a wholesale only site so the value here is taken from the information card. I am guessing from the information card that this is cheese-flavored? Anyway, I have learned from Facebook that Preppy Puppy is in Massachusetts and their treats are wheat, corn, and soy free. I like it when subscription box companies support smaller businesses like this!
Fruitables Crispy Bacon and Apple Flavor (7 oz) – Value $3.39
These are certified organic, they are sourced and made in the USA, and they are free of wheat, corn, soy, artificial ingredients, colors, and preservatives! They get pretty good reviews on Chewy.com, too (click the link in the product name to see). Note that this is a sale price; MSRP for this size (according to Chewy) is $5.99.
And here are some shots of Nyx in the kerchief and enjoying the ladybug toy. She was pretty hyper for these photos.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $37.47 for this month’s Wigglebutt Box. Since some of the above prices were sale prices, you would probably be safe in assigning at least a $40 MSRP to the items in the box. Either way, it is a few dollars above the cost of the subscription. I liked that the value was pretty evenly spaced among the items and that there were a lot of (size appropriate) items in the box, which I feel minimizes the risk. And Nyx had fun with the toys!
