SNL Land Shark Tee - Value $15?
This tee is a Retro Pop Box exclusive! I don't remember the SNL skits very well, but I do remember my mom and her sister endlessly calling each other and saying they were the Land Shark. It makes me nostalgic for those times! But ICYMI, you can see the Land Shark (1975) here!
The Fonz "Stay Cool" Magnet - Value $5?
I loved Fonzie when I was little. I think I watched Happy Days well into the 80's, too! Now I just think about how odd it was that such a wholesome show had a "thug" character that was so nerdy! He was great. Anyway, the Fonz is welcome on my fridge door anytime.
Star Night Light by Lava Lamp - Value $9.99
This nightlight is awesome! The star changing color is really pretty, and it gets brighter as the room gets darker. I think Lava Lamps were a 60's thing, but this is supposed to be reminiscent of the disco days.
Here it is in action!
Puka Shell Necklace - Value $16.95
I have a very vague recollection of... men? Wearing these necklaces? Did I make that up? Or block it out? In any case, this is the Fun Fact item fo the month. I'm sorry you can't see the fun fact too well in the picture, but it says:
While California surfers made the puka shell necklace cool, David Cassidy made it THE accessory of the 70s. The white shells glared brightly against his tanned chest and girls around the world lost their minds. Everyone who was anyone immediately went out and bought a puka shell choker for themselves and then lathered on the coconut oil and baked themselves in the sun.
Mary Tyler Moore Sticker - Value $2?
This is another Retro Pop Box exclusive item. One thing RPB does pretty consistently is pay homage to celebrities from the era when they pass away. That's such a nice feature of this subscription. My mom was a huge Mary Tyler Moore fan, and I remember watching it with her when I was little.
Verdict: I love my 1970's Retro Pop Box so much! Everything this month was a win! I am impressed with how consistently good and on point Retro Pop Box is. The value of everything this month totals about $49, which is great for a $25 box.
What do you think of the 70's box from Retro Pop Box? What's your favorite decade?
