Now, onto the items!

Beautycon-March-2017-0032

Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Eye Shadow Palette – Value $34

Beautycon-March-2017-0034

This palette has a magnetic flap closure and a combo brush with a blender brush on one end and a liner brush on the other end.

Beautycon-March-2017-0035

There are 6 matte and 6 shimmer shades. (You might recognize this palette from the POPSUGAR Limited Edition Holiday Box!)

Beautycon-March-2017-0033

(BeautyCon sent me this spoiler early to answer any questions you might have about it.)

Here are all the shades swatched:

Popsugar-limited-edition-for-her-winter-2016-0043

The pigment is good! (Some of the lighter shades don’t show up too well on my skin, but will work great as base shades.)

Beautycon-March-2017-0013

The BrowGal Convertible Brow: Powder to Pomade Duo Universal - Value $35

Beautycon-March-2017-0014

This set can be used as a powder with a dry application, or as a pomade when applied with a wet brush.

Beautycon-March-2017-0015

The pigment in these colors is great. (Swatched in lower photo.) And the pans are a good size for a brow powder - I think this will last me a year!

Beautycon-March-2017-0008

It also came with a spoolie/angled brush for application.

Beautycon-March-2017-0024

NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in Rose Petal Pop - Value $8

Beautycon-March-2017-0025

This creamy stick has excellent pigment with a hint of shimmer. It sets to almost a powder finish immediately, but I still found it to be easy enough to blend out.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Beautycon-March-2017-0030

Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Rust - Value $14

Beautycon-March-2017-0031

This liquid lipstick has decent staying power, and major pigment payoff. (I was worried with the "rust" color it would have orange undertones, but this ended up being a very wearable color for me!)

Here it is swatched beneath the NYX and above the brow powders:

Beautycon-March-2017-0036 Beautycon-March-2017-0027

Garnier Micellar Makeup Removing Towelettes - Value $6

Beautycon-March-2017-0029

I'm still using my Micellar water from the Winter Beautycon box (I love it for stray eyeliner/mascara marks), and I'm loving these wipes, too.

They are fragrance-free, gentle, and get the job done!

Beautycon-March-2017-0011

Luxie 516 Duo Fibre Powder Brush - Value $22

Thanks to subscription boxes, I have quite the Luxie brush collection now! The brushes are gorgeous and work well, so that's fine by me!

Beautycon-March-2017-0012

This vegan brush is super soft and designed to be used for blending out powders.

Beautycon-March-2017-0017

IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush in Peach Sheen - Value $14

Beautycon-March-2017-0018

This blush is a peachy pink with golden shimmer. It is stunning! I'd say it is close to the cult-classic NARS blush, but a bit peachier. (And I just realized I'm missing the swatch photo of this - so I'll take the picture and add it asap!)

Beautycon-March-2017-0020

Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil – .33 oz Value $7.40

Beautycon-March-2017-0021

I’ve sampled this dry oil before thanks to subscription boxes, but it is still such a treat to receive in a box! You can use it on your face, body or hair to add a little shimmer and glow. (It looks super shimmery in the bottle, but it blends out well once applied.)

Beautycon-March-2017-0022

OGX Orchid Oil - Value $8

This oil spray is designed to help protect color-treated hair. (But even if you don't have color treated hair, I think you might like it!)

The scent is lovely! And it's a super lightweight spray that didn't weigh my hair down at all. It made my hair feel softer, and maybe a little shinier, too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $148! I think that's an amazing value for a $36 quarterly box. I think they included a good mix of brands, and I'm thrilled that everything is full-size besides the NUXE oil.

I just subscribed, thinking I would get this box…..but I just realized it’s already shipped out….:(
Does this mean I’ve payed for a box I will get in 3 months ..lol
Most subs send the current box as your first….hoping that’s the case here
Anyone know?

Heather

I just ordered mine over the weekend and got it today so you should still be able to get this one! The blush in mine was completely shattered but I contacted customer service and got it sorted out immediately and they’re sending me a new one.

Reply ButtonReply

Noelle

I contacted cs through live chat and was told if I ordered today, I would get the spring box…super excited…I will use everything in this box…!

Helen

They will send this one if they haven’t sold out. Maybe reach out and ask. I’ve had good responses in chat or maybe you could try their Facebook page.
Good luck, it’s a great box!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOX AND EVERYTHING IN IT!!! Boxycharm is my favorite and then this one second!!!

Jess R Balliet

Thanks for all the input everyone. I opened this email from a few days ago for the beautycon coupon to subscribe. But after reading all these comments, I’ve decided to pass. To whomever only wanted the Luxie brush, you’re not the only one! It’s the only item that really interested me, too 🙂 I LOVE cargo, but that pale palette is very unappealing. I’m still using my awesome Buff palette from Boxycharm winter. The Nuxe sparkly oil a really nice product. I like to run some through my very dark hair for just a touch of shimmer!

Reply ButtonReply

Christie

I will say that this palette surprised me in a good way. I thought it would be very neutral and nothing special, but the color combos that are curated are really fantastic, at least on me. Admittedly I work in a courthouse and don’t go crazy with my eye makeup on weekdays, but it really was more vibrant and less neutral than I expected. This whole box was a great hit for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Christie

I just want to say (in case anyone chose not to try it) that the IBY blush is absolutely PHENOMENAL. Great color, easy to pick up the right amount with a single sweep of a good brush, just an all-around great find. I even like it better, dare I say, than my favorite NARS blush *gasp* something I never thought I would say. If you’re on the fence, go ahead and try it, ladies!

Myly

Same here. I absolutely love what I see in the Spring 2017 box. I’ve just subscribed and can’t wait to get it.

Reply ButtonReply

Cary

Thanks to this review, I just subscribed. After unsubbing from various others (GlossyBox, Petit Vour, and Birchbox), I’ve been looking for a new one that’s up my alley. Hopefully the next three boxes will be just as awesome.

Julia

I judge my beauty sub boxes by how many items I can actually try. This was my first Beautycon box and I have to say that I’m very very pleased. I am anxious to try/use every single item in the box. Maybe they all won’t work out for me, but that’s all right. The main reason I sub to these boxes is to receive and try new things that I wouldn’t normally find or try on my own. I was thrilled to see so many full sized products that actually work for my skin tone/hair type.

In comparison, I also received my first Boxycharm this month and I couldn’t use a single thing in it due to the crazy shiny colors of everything they sent. It’s all up on swap if anyone is interested. So I’m very pleased with my Beautycon box and I’m looking forward to the next one!

Reply ButtonReply

Christie

Ditto on the Boxycharm. This is the first time I’ve felt the need to use the swap site despite receiving 5+ beauty boxes. I’m not keeping anything from this month’s box.

I just unsubbed from boxycharm to try this one. I’m excited about all the products!!

Well my iby blush was busted when it arrived 🙁

I’m interested in the lip liner and liquid lipstick from Boxycharm

Did you get the e-mail from Beautycon? I haven’t even received my box yet (due to arrive Monday) but I got this nice e-mail a few days ago. See below:

Dear Beauty,

It has come to our attention that some subscribers received an IBY Pressed Powder Blush that was damaged in transit. We want to make sure we are able to address this issue right away, so if your box arrived with any damaged items, please contact [email protected] or reply to this email and we will immediately make arrangements for the item(s) to be replaced.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience and are so grateful for our wonderful family of subscribers! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Before I got my box I got an email from BeautyCon letting me know there was an issue with the blush being possibly damaged. If my blush was broken I should email them for a new one. Got my box and my blush was busted so I requested a new one. Nice to see they were ahead of it.

Reply ButtonReply

Blondage

My blush was busted up too.

Reply ButtonReply

Virginia

I signed up hoping for the winter box. Got this one instead still wish I’d gotten the winter box but the one is good too.

Reply ButtonReply

Jodie

I had originally signed my daughter up for this box and she just loves it! I did get this one and I think it’s a great box of products for the price. I do already own these shadows from pop sugar this winter so I’ll put them up on swap but it was a great deal and I’m sure someone will love them

Reply ButtonReply

Elle Em

I was so excited to get that Cargo eyeshadow palette from PopSugar and I have to say that it has been pretty disappointing. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Blondage

I agree. Most of the shades are way too powdery and patchy.

Reply ButtonReply

Rosemary

This looks like a great box. I have most of these products already from other subs, so I wouldn’t be happy about the duplicates. That said, I love everything in this box that I already own. Very good curation.

Reply ButtonReply

JennyF

I just received my Spring Beautycon box today and I have been so excited for it to get here ever since I found out that Beautycon was curating it themselves this season! They did not disappoint either! This is my 5th box and although they usually look to have more items, this season there were mostly all full size products! I have to admit I was really hoping for gift card or something personal from Beautycon like in all previous boxes, but this box had me at the beautiful Cargo eyeshadow pallet! I do not subscribe to Popsugar, so I have not already received one and I fell in love! Somehow although my eyeshadow and eyebrow pallets came in perfect condition, my mineral pressed powder blush came completely damaged and I contacted CS right away and they were great and apologized! She told me she ordered me another one and it would be shipping in a few days! She even asked if anything else was damaged or unusable due to the powder getting all over the inside of the box during shipping and I was honest and said that I can easily clean off the powder and the other items were good as new again, but it was nice that they asked and probably would have replaced everything that was effected had I been untruthful! I love beautycon and everything that comes along with being a subscriber! Great customer service! I think they have strict policies and they are clearly stated and placed to be seen and read before purchase and if you are concerned about future charges or cancellation policies then you should read carefully before subscribing, but even with everything being very clearly stated on their website I would have to say they’re still very leaniate with letting people cancel outside their window! I can’t wait to use all of the incredible products!

Reply ButtonReply

JennyF

I received my replacement blush in the mail Friday! Thank you Beautycon! It didn’t come damaged this time. Very beautiful color!

Reply ButtonReply

Chris

I was very concerned about canceling (the site had no option to do so at the time) from reading people’s comments. I canceled before the time to do so, I simply Stated that I was giving plenty of notice and did not authorize renewing the year or any charges past the last box. They where VERY kind, clear, and precise in their response and I had no issue. I did however have an issue when I started the sub…..I know for a fact I started the new season but I received the previous. I even had screenshot photos of their social media, but they didn’t want to correct their error. That is mainly the reason I canceled, I felt I was ripped off. I think it’s a good box, I simply couldn’t get past my main issue.

Reply ButtonReply

Toni

It looks like a great box.Is it bad that I really only want the Luxie brush because I’m trying to get the whole set ?so the rest would just be extra stash! So shipping isn’t included in the price? I’d like one but I’m not willing to be locked down for a year. Please let us know when the coupon is working again😀

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

As someone who has quit most of my subs, I’m actually really, really excited for this! Looks great 🙂

I’m excited to try the cargo palette and the brow powders. The only items I have are the Nuxe oil (which I actually just finished, I’ll take all the free samples y’all don’t want lol. I adore that stuff!) And the DLS because I too bought it in the ipsy offer. Will be a good gift tho 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Vickie

Hi all, am curious about how everyone uses the Nuxe Oil? I have another bottle that I haven’t touched and was wondering if others use it for skin or hair? Would love some ideas! Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

Well this box is only worth $84 at most since I will not be using the Cargo Palette, Luxie Brush, or OGX Oil, still debating about a few others, but at least it’s worth $36 (a little less for me since I did annual last summer) I guess but I wish the spoilers went up sooner so I could have skipped this box. This is my last box and I definitely want to cancel since FFF and Boxycharm are so much better. I am worried they are going to charge me still since I heard that they are scammers. This is not the worse box, that would be Fall 2016, but I think all 4 have been underwhelming and I would not recommend this subscription box, especially if they scam you when you try to cancel. 🙁

My spring 2017 FFF box cost me $60 free shipping ($10 extra to get both pieces of jewelry) and it has a value of like $460 which is mind blowing. My February Boxycharm had like a $145 value for only $21 free shipping. These two are just a reference to how much better they are than this $36 ($29 + $7 shipping) one. Some food for thought. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Chris

Amanda, simply send an email that they are no longer authorized to charge your card or any account on file. Be clear on when your last box is and shipping charge as well and that they are to discard any payment info they have for you as they are no longer authorized to have it after ……date. I canceled early and had absolutely no issue. They where very kind, clear and precise in their response. That email is your proof that you said stop, you are committed to purchasing any left in your annual or year but not after. If your charged again you simply dispute it using your proof. But again, I had no issue.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I just deleted my credit card info from my profile to keep them from charging me. I got one box, saw the previews for the next box, didn’t like it and it was past the cancel date. Worked like a charm.

Thea

If you can switch your payment over to Paypal, you should. I signed up with a PP account, so when I sent them an unsubcribe email, I unauthorized them that way. I never got any sort of response to my email, so I’m glad I could do it that way. Hopefully that’s an option for you.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Vela

Won’t my card still be on file and won’t they be able to charge my PayPal so I’ll get screwed either way?

I'Asha

Avoided looking at the spoil this morning. Then my box actually arrived. I like and think I’ll use everything in this box. I’m not sure how to apply the brow powder/promade. I’ve only used pencils. I’ll have do a little video watching for that. Also, I’m surprised by the eyeshadow pallet. I would expect more vibrant colors for spring. I guess it’s good for natural looks. Overall, impressed.

Like others mentioned, would have like something like accessories or something to offset all of the makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Monica P.

This is a great box. Can’t wait to get it. I find it interesting that people are complaining about there being 2 oils and 2 blushes. One oil is for hair and the other for your body so very different. As for the blushes one is power and the other is a cream strobing illuminator so different as well. The winter 2016 box had 2 mascaras and 2 lipsticks and I don’t remember people complaining about the. I thought that box was amazing as well. Love that BeautyCon is mostly makeup products and gives such a great range of brands.

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

I was looking thru this trying to figure out why I got a completely different box today, my first box with them. Figured it out: I got the Winter box — which I love, one of the best beauty boxes I’ve ever gotten with regards to how many products I’ll use. This box? If I get it, probably everything except the NYX and the towelettes will be put up for swap. Wow. And that new cancellation policy, wow again; I’d better check and see what mine says.

Reply ButtonReply

L

I signed up just now bc I want everything in this box… will this be my first box?

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

I would imagine so, yes. You could email them to ask if you wanted to be sure.

I looked up my account details, and I can’t tell whether I’m locked in for a year, but this box shipped the day after my winter one did, so I guess I’ll be getting it tomorrow.

Andrea Draper

Love the variety .. Most of the items I wouldn’t brought hoping next seasons is going to be more like the Winter box. So far their best box.

Reply ButtonReply

Dinah

This box is great!!! I will use everything in this box. Kudos to the curators. The only thing missing is mascara.

Reply ButtonReply

ReviewStuffz

You can actually use the brow pomade as a very natural looking mascara, just wet it first and use the spoolie.

Reply ButtonReply

Kendra

I literally bought the same DLS lip cream in an Ipsy Offer 10 minutes before seeing this review… oh well, now I have a Christmas present for somebody already!

Reply ButtonReply

Mallory

Note that their cancellation policy is now different than what it used to be:

“By clicking, “Complete Order,” you are purchasing a year long subscription with a total of four (4) Beautycon Boxes, which will ship every 3 months. Each order will be charged to the card you provide today, approximately every 3 months. Please note, exact shipment times may vary. By purchasing a Seasonal Subscription, you agree to an initial and recurring Seasonal Subscription fee of $29 or the then-current Seasonal Subscription rate, and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges, including $6.99 shipping and handling. Any applicable discount will be reflected at the time of checkout.”

So if you don’t want a year long subscription, I would advise against it.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I almost subscribed when the previous box came out, but when I read the disclaimer above, I read it to mean that only annual subscriptions can be purchased, and I only wanted to subscribe for 2 or 3 boxes. I interpreted the “Seasonal Subscription” to be for those that don’t want to pay all of the money up front, but rather in installments. If I knew for a fact they would let me know do a non-annual subscription, then I’d reconsider probably subbing to this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

I signed up before I read and understood this disclaimer. There must be a distinction between a seasonal and annual subscription. My account indicates “seasonal”, so I understand that to mean I can cancel after I receive this box. I sent an email that if that was in not in fact the case, I wanted to cancel immediately, as you have 24 hours to cancel per their FAQ. I have not received a response yet. Liz, might you be able to clarify that with them? I certainly do not want be locked in to 4 boxes.

Helen

I think I’ll have fun playing with the makeup in my last Beautycon box. I like that there’s a cool pink blush and a more peachy one for ‘natural’ days. lol
Once again, the brow powders are far too dark for me. But this is a continuing problem. I’ve searched high end and low for a very light ash toned blonde and only have a drawer full of rejects to show for it.

*If anyone has any bright ideas I’d love to hear them.*

I just dropped another bundle on Benefit’s range of brow products. Their ‘cool-toned’ blonde looks positively ginger on me. And too dark!

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

If you bought those Benefit products in a store, return them. Just about every store will take back cosmetic products you don’t like and refund you if you have a receipt and are within their specified time frame. There doesn’t have to be anything wrong with it – you just have to not like it. Assuming you don’t abuse the system and become known as the cheap lady who wears everything once and then returns it, you should have no problems. Even if they won’t refund you, you should be able to get store credit, unless the product is clearly used frequently or discontinued or something like that.

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

I did return the Benefit brow products to Ulta and got the money refunded. I felt a little guilty even though I’m a Platinum member. lol

Jess R Balliet

Have you tried Gimme Brow by Benefit Cosmetics? My brows are black, so ask the pencils and such I would receive from subs were ALWAYS too light. I went to Gimme Brow and they have several shade options, including a couple blonde options. If you haven’t yet, check them out. Hope I was able to help you 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

HalliLikeBerry

Have you tried Anastasia? Their “taupe” is my absolute favorite.

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

I work for Clinique and we sell a brow powder in a very light shade (wheat), also a fine liner called soft blonde, and a sharpen pencil called honey. Please give them a try, stop by the counter and you can try for free, but they are great and VERY light!

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

I just had a browse on the Clinique site, very interesting. I hadn’t come across these products. I’ll wait until I can get to a store to test them out – it’s not possible to gauge the shades online. Thanks!

Carolina

Have you tried Colourpop? They have one called “Blondie” that is described as a “light cool-toned ash blonde”.

I’ve used their brow pencil and it works great, but I know a lot of people really love the pomade.

If anything, they are just $5 to try!

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

Thank you Carolina! I’ve used the Blondie pencil in the past and it’s certainly a better match than anything Benefit and ABH et al produce.
I’ll definitely try the pomade – the reviews indicate that it will be a tad lighter.
Brows on fleek!

Marion

I’ve been wanting to try the Nuxe oil cause it looks so pretty in the bottle, even though I usually hate being shiny. So I’m pretty stoked about this. I’m really excited about the micellar wipes, too.

Reply ButtonReply

Lorraine

They are scammers when it comes to trying to cancel. Took me 3 emails and a same time lync message where she said i would get a cancellation in my email 3 days ago and to date, I still don’t have one. I already posted about this earlier this week, but BUYER BEWARE!!! They are frauds

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

If anyone really wanted out of their agreement super badly they could always cancel their debit card and have a new one sent. I understand it could be a hassle but at the same time sometimes it takes extreme measures. I’d rather deal with getting a new debit card then wasting what $90 something. Just a little idea if anyone really needed out.

Reply ButtonReply

Tia F

I’d advise anyone to NEVER use your debit card…ever – ever – ever. Always use a credit card. There is too much risk of id theft, I’ve experienced far too many hijacks of cards to have my bank account exposed like that plus you do not have the same protects if you use a CREDIT CARD. Just a big ol’ warning from someone who has gone through a hella process to get back funds that someone transferred ach to bermuda and I only ever used the debit card once years ago online. Always use your credit card or paypal and keep an eye on your statements. ID theft is a multi-billion dollar business for a reason. This looks like a decent box but I have a ton of eyeshadow palettes…I could probably open a store at this point. The DLS lip is a great one, I love the lasting power of it and all of their colors somehow look good on me, sometimes I blot a bit more with the darker shades but really, they are awesome. I love brushes but I think I’ll skip this box this time. I’ve subbed before and had the same problem with cancelling but kept emails on file so my cc reimbursed me because the company would not.
