I selected the anti aging box. I only received one of the masks, however in the sample reveal it shows two of the masks. Anyone else order this spotlight box and only received one of the masks ? Thank you!

Very informative ladies! Thank you! I’m new to birchbox, and concidered beta. Now I think not. I’ve never tried boxycharm, why so great??

I love that this is a terrible grasp st trying to gain back all the people that left during last spring’s mass exodus. I have never been sorry I didn’t get a box or item choice etc I have seen since unsubbing. They wanted to move away from subscription boxes is what they said…well looks like you’re trying to do sub boxes again, increasing the price, and not offer a whole lot from the complaints on here. Guess that move to trying to do brick and mortar isn’t working out so well, and people still aren’t buying as much from their shop since points got taken away…I still would love to see their sub numbers from early last year to now. I remember some people were waiting for their year subs to run out, so I’m betting more have dropped as months went on for 2016.

I must say I’m a little disappointed in the pick one skip one section. They don’t give you very much in the pick one section but in the skip one section they give you so many options. I wish that they were reversed. Like in the makeup your only choice is lipstick/lipliner and I’m guessing it will be the Benefit Double the Lip.

Cancelled after the March box. Not sorry

I cancelled Birchbox and got a email from Birchbox and it said they have more choices and so I resubcribed a hour later. Choice Beta and was charged 10. Contacted Birchbox and said I wouldn’t get Beta for April. Super upset. I’m getting Mays Beta. Then I’ll see if I keep it. So this is why I resubbed and not cool. It shows Beta but I cant get it because Aprils was paid for when I resubbed.

You would think for a 50% price increase a month they would give you at least an extra product sample each month. Giving you the choice to skip months and making you pay more for it is like saying you’re going to want to skip because they can’t curate a box worthy of getting every month…??

I like the dry skin one and the curated box

I’m gonna wait for Birchbox to throw the leftover beta boxes in the shop for $10..

Luna

That’d be cool if they sold the beta boxes as one-off “curated” boxes. I’m no longer subscribed to Birchbox, so even if they sold them for $15, I’d be willing to buy them if they looked appealing to me.

I think the overflow of these extra choices will definitely pop up again in some form. Maybe as a GWP, or new subscriber gift, or a $10/15 curated shop purchase. If it’s put in the shop, it’ll probably be for $10 sub / $15 non sub price. Which I think will irritate those who paid $15 for it in their monthly box. So much overflow from their LE and kits pop up in GWP, sub gifts, etc.

Lily

I cancelled sub😒 Moving on to your top list! BoxyCharm here I come!

I know, beta for $15 or Boxy for $21. Simple decision.

Are they still doing the pick-and-skip option? It looked like the options for that change each month so I am curious to see what this looks like.

I had to email them to see it. If you received an email from birchbox that says reveal your beta options it should take you to the page where you can pick and skip. That’s the only way it worked for me.

Hope this helps!

It does, thank you!

I have very few boxes from Birchbox, so I signed up a few days ago and selected Beta. I chose the anti-aging box — looks perfect for me! Plus, it’s all skincare, which I prefer 90% more than makeup!

I’m in agreement with the first 2 posts. My sub is up very soon and at this point I have no desire to renew it. I’m surprised that they are so busy and have a waiting list. Maybe due to downsizing??

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda P

The waitlist is only for the beta program, there is no waitlist for regular subscriptions. They probably planned out the test and procured all of the samples ahead of time based on an estimate, and their estimate turned out to be too low. I am also suspicious that they are trying to stagger sign ups because a lot of people will sign up out of curiosity for April and then cancel immediately.

Made the switch as soon as I read this. Selected the spotlight on dry skin box. It has so many things I’d really like to try.

Still no new or exciting products, I think i got nearly all those samples in my 6 years with Birchbox.

Chelsea

Exactly! Glad, I cancelled in February after 4 years. Nothing new here.

Same, I’m dissapointed that I’ve already reveived 2 samples from each box. I’ve only been with Birchbox for about 2 years.
