Ellie is back! And it's now a workout wear + gear subscription!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Ellie-February-2017-0002

FYI - I did receive the water bottle featured on the inside of the lid - but it came in a separate shipment. It's a large bottle, and the rose gold is gorgeous:

Now, back to the box!

Ellie-February-2017-0003

The Subscription Box: Ellie

The Cost: $49.95

The Products: "Every month you’ll receive 5 amazing items for your active lifestyle. Your usual box can include a sports bra, a top, leggings or capris, a jacket, accessories (a tote maybe), and a piece of equipment."

Balance Collection Lima-A-Rita Tank - Value $20

Ellie-February-2017-0018

This tank is a poly/spandex blend, and very lightweight - it's a great layering piece.

Ellie-February-2017-0019

It has a loose fit and coordinates well with the next item:

Marika Tek High Impact Bra - Value $30?

Ellie-February-2017-0015

I couldn't find this bra online, so I'm estimating the value.

Ellie-February-2017-0016

This bra has lined, padded cups that are not removable. As you can see from the first picture of this bra, it already has a shape, so you have to fit the shape, not the other way around. For me, it wasn't a perfect fit, so this bra was a miss for me.

Ellie-February-2017-0020

Marika Legging - Value $50?

(Again, estimating the value.)

Ellie-February-2017-0021

I really like the fit of these pants - not too constricting, and the fabric is really stretchy, too.

Ellie-February-2017-0022

And if they are going to include a pattern, I like that it is all grey and black. The neon tank is enough pop for me for one outfit!

Ellie-February-2017-0013

Drawstring Bag – Value $2?

They included this exact same bag in last month's box, too. I hope this isn't a regular addition - I can only use so many identical small black drawstring bags!

Bally Total Fitness Jump Rope - Value $14

Ellie-February-2017-0008

This is a well-made jump rope! It has roller bearings and the foam grips make it easier to hold, too:

Ellie-February-2017-0009

And if you want to shorten the rope, you can untwist the caps to cut the rope:

Bally Total Fitness Foot Massager - Value $15

Ellie-February-2017-0005

This is a hot or cold roller, so you can put it in the freezer, or in hot tap water to adjust the temperature.

Ellie-February-2017-0006

I've tried foot rollers before, and I like this one because it has a little give to it. (Others I've tried are a completely solid plastic.)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $131 (that's using some product value estimates.) I think that's a great value for a $50 workout clothing subscription, and I like the workout accessories they included, too. If you are thinking of subscribing, it's good to know that these pieces are likely going to be older stock, but it didn't feel like older inventory since the outfit is coordinated - I really appreciate that part of this subscription.

I wish the bra was a better fit for me, but otherwise, I really like this box.

Don’t order from them! I was a member on the first round. I skipped months when it started to get bad, I also happend to get a new debit card with new numbers and never updated the info with Ellie. I did keep them on Facebook and got to see all the angry customers that were not a lucky as me. I unfollowed and forgot about them. Tge quality of the items I did get way back is amazing so when the came back I waited until March so they could ‘get the bugs out’.
I should not have. My order has still not shipped after 5 days and I can’t get anyone to answer me back. Now I see that the ‘skip button’ is not working on the website.
I should never have sucked back in.

So disappointed, I just received this box and I DID NOT receive what was pictured! I received a lime green sleevelees v-neck lime green tee and a solid black sports bra!! The tee is ugly and looks like a man’s tee, I would never wear a sleeveless tee! Had I known that they would send whatever they wanted instead of what was pictured I would have NEVER ordered anything from them. I made the BIG mistake of ordering the march box before I received this box. I don’t appreciate the bait and switch. When I purchase an item I expect it to be what I purchased or the option to cancel my order if they cannot fulfill it!! Buyers beware!!!

Same thing here Nina!! Just opened my box and not happy at all. I am so over this bait and switch with boxes.

And there large is more a small/medium in my opinion. I can’t wear the large and that’s what I usually wear.

Emily

How many ounces does the water bottle hold? Contemplating trying this (with a really good discount code!) and that would be a good perk- so many boxes send small water bottles, having a large one is a huge plus for me.

As a public school teacher, I save all my extra bags that I get through subs and donate them to my school. Plenty of kids need gym bags and book bags. I even donate old Ipsy bags as supply pouches. School counselors are usually the best people to get in touch with because they know the needs of the students better than most. Just save up for a while and then drop them off at a school near you.
Just an idea! 🙂

Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t thought of that.

How does this compare to fabletics? Whats better quality/fit?

Mallory

So is there a sizing feature/customization element? I would be worried getting a sub that is mostly clothing if I risk them not fitting me every month. Otherwise, this box looks like it may be worth it!

Fyi- if you used that 50% off flash code- feb24 I think it was- you wont get the rose gold bottle. I used the code to jump on board and no bottle for me. I emailed them and they said you don’t get a bottle if you used the discount. I promptly cancelled my membership for this box. I think that’s kinda shady to not even mention it with the code. Oh well. I’ll stick with Adidas box instead 😕

Thanks for this to! What is the Adidas box?

Avenue A by adidas …. quarterly box of workout clothes & shoes & accessories. High quality & good cs.

Pilar

Since you get like 5 items I guess if you think each item is worth $10 each than its a great value.

Did you have to post a photo as instructed on box to get water bottle? I though it was in all boxes as a bonus.

Allison

It wasn’t in my box, so I emailed them and they sent it to me. I didn’t have to post a picture.

Wendy

Thanks Allison. Sometimes I feel like you have to participate in social media to get all the perks of sub boxes and I don’t.

Wendy

I thought the water bottle was included in each box. Do you have to post to instagram to get this? I have cancelled so many subs due to the social media aspect. Not everyone participates. Kinda discriminating.

Me too. I hate being forced to advertise for places and annoy all my friends that way. If that’s a ‘requirement’ it’s not for me either. Glad I’m not the only one!
