The box I was sent to review was for a girl aged 2-3 years old. One side of the information card lists all the items in the box with their retail value. The other discusses major milestones for the box’s intended age.
BeginAgain Balance Boat Shape and Color Puzzle - Value $11.05
This is a great beginner wooden puzzle for teaching shapes, colors and of course practicing hand-eye coordination. My daughter enjoyed doing this puzzle much more as a balancing activity, rather than having it flat because she’s already three years old. She had fun stacking the pieces in many different ways.
Le Petit Matisse Watercolors - Value $12.00
These 2-ounce bottles of primary colored liquid watercolors are plant based and can be mixed to make many other colors. They can be diluted with water to last even longer. I like that Hoppi Box included art supplies this quarter!
Hoppi Box Exclusive Fabric Memory Game - Listed Value $28
This Hoppi Box exclusive is made with vegan leather and soft fabric. The animal matching game is great for promoting memory skills. The matching cards are made on the West Bank by refugees and low-income women artisans. I think these memory cards are just darling and my daughter loved playing with them.
MyLand Horse By Kid O - $19.95
My daughter adores this horse and rider. The rider is what powers the horse to make noises. If the rider is in the “saddle” the birds will chirp softly and if you make the horse gallop by moving it up and down with your hand then you will hear galloping hooves and neighing sounds. If the rider isn’t in the “saddle” then the horse is silent. It was fun watching my daughter discover how it all works on her own with no prompting from me. A simple, yet innovative toy, and I love the color palette as well.
Verdict: I was very impressed with the curation of Hoppi Box. I like that they send high-quality full-sized toys from brands I know and respect for their sustainable practices, as well as introduce me to new brands that my family is excited to discover. This is not a box of plastic junk you can get at the dollar store. I think boxes like this are more about curation, so I was pleasantly surprised that the value I came up with was $72. I am excited to see what they send next quarter!
