Medusa's Makeup Lipstick in Lydia - Value $12

Medusas-makup-vegan-beauty-box-march-2017-0008

This formula is creamy, goes on smooth, and has gorgeous pigment. The finish is demi-matte. The color is way too bold for me, but I can appreciate a good lipstick formula when I test one! (Swatched in lower photo.)

Medusa's Makeup Lip Paint in Get Lucky - Value $12

Medusas-makup-vegan-beauty-box-march-2017-0015

This liquid lipstick also has a matte finish and amazing pigment. Even more impressive? The staying power! Again, this shade a bit too bold for me, but I like the formula a lot, and I'll probably buy a more wearable shade now that I've sampled it.

Medusa's Makeup Eye Dust in Wasabe - Value $7

Medusas-makup-vegan-beauty-box-march-2017-0010

I'm always impressed with the Eye Dust formulas. The pigment and shimmer on these eyeshadows are amazing! Here is the eye dust swatched beneath the lipstick and lip paint:

I'm getting a mermaid vibe from the colors this month!

Medusa's Makeup Stick It Eye Primer - Value $8

Medusas-makup-vegan-beauty-box-march-2017-0012

This primer is a little oily going on, and I recommend using it sparingly - if it feels like you have oily lids, you've used too much. It definitely made the eyeshadow pigment pop a little bit more than without.

Verdict: This box has a value of $40. I think that's fantastic for a $15.95 beauty box that sends full-size vegan beauty products with free shipping. This is a great way to try out Medusa's Make-Up at a deep discount, and it's definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone!

Hello Liz! I love, love reading your reviews and I thoroughly enjoy your husband’s reviews as well. And who doesn’t love a review featuring Buckles! I am of South Indian descent, you know, Bollywood….I have much darker skin like Beyoncé and Halle Berry. Do you think it would be possible for you to ask any of your darker complexion friends to swatch some of these makeup items? I love these magical colors, but I have no idea how this would look on someone with my skin tone……Many thanks!

Just personal opinion, but I think these would be amazing on a darker skin tone!

I agree! I subscribe to Cocotique & Onyx Box, and due to the combination of my skin tone being on the lighter side & I wear minimal makeup there’s no way I can pull off some of the bolder makeup products they sometimes send (mostly lip products), so I pass them along to my darker skinned friends, and the products look amazing on them!!

Oooh, this might be my favorite month yet! Your arm, Liz, reminded me of an Easter egg 😀 I was afraid the lippies wouldn’t have much pigment, as sometimes happens with this brand, but they look amazing.

Hi KimberlyB, have you gotten your Vanishing Cabinet yet? Was just wondering how you like it ?

So I was thinking about cancelling this sub because I just haven’t been that excited about it. Thought maybe I had better things to do with $15.95/month. But then they do this! I love everything in the pouch. I had been thinking about buying that Lydia lipstick since I first visited the site, but held off in case they wanted to give it to me in the sub. I think they may have just saved a subscriber 🙂

I am wearing all the products today except the pink lip paint. The Lydia lipstick actually went on lighter than I thought, and they eyeshadow went on much brighter. Brighter than the Purple Reign we got two months ago – maybe because this time I have the shadow primer? I am a medium/tan skintone. They are both really pretty colors, but they do look different on different skin tones, and with different applications. Beautiful both in your picture and on my skin though. I’m also noticing that as about 2 hours have gone by, the green seems to be morphing into a golder, warmer green – much more wearable for me.
