Our Top 10 April 2017 JustFab and ShoeDazzle Picks!

2017_Shoedazzle-and-justfab-top-pics_POST-HEADER

I've been reviewing ShoeDazzle and JustFab the last few months and excited to start sharing my top picks at the beginning of each month!

On the first of every month, both subscriptions release new styles to their site, along with personalized options to your boutique (for JustFab) and your showroom (for ShoeDazzle). As a VIP subscriber, you have until the 5th of each month to purchase whatever clothing, shoe, or accessories item you'd like. You also have the choice to skip any given month. However, if you don’t pick or skip by the 5th of each month, you get charged $39.95 store credit to spend any time.

Let's take a look at the items I'm most excited about for April!

ShoeDazzle:

ShoeDazzle-April-2017-Bag-Model

Brick Handbag - VIP Price $29.95 (regular price $44.95)

Yellow everything! I love seeing this goldenrod shade of yellow on the ShoeDazzle site. I think an easy and cost-effective way to incorporate a bold color like this is with accessories. The Brick handbag is faux leather and about 8"X7". This size is perfect for day trips or even concerts and music festivals that will be ramping up soon this spring and summer. I think the VIP price is great too! If yellow isn't your favorite color, this bag also comes in black and a bright poppy red.

ShoeDazzle-April-2017-Romper

Bell Sleeve Romper - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $56.95)

I was immediately drawn to this floral print, most likely because of the primary color shades incorporated. And the nice pastel blush background can work with a lot of different skin tones, which makes me love this piece even more. Rompers aren't always the most comfortable piece of clothing, but I like that this one is more covered up. The higher neckline and bell sleeves help the silhouette to look a bit more practical, especially if you wanted to wear this to brunch or swap it out for the usual sundress. This romper is available in sizes XS-3X and also comes in black and cayenne red.

ShoeDazzle-April-2017-Shirtdress

Cuff Sleeve Shirt Dress - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $56.95)

The color of this dress is called "cloud chambray" which is spot on! I love the wash and cut of this denim shirtdress and think this might be my top April ShoeDazzle pick. It looks relaxed enough to thrown on for a casual day out and can be paired with everything from sneakers and booties, to various heeled sandals. The back appears to hang longer than the front, if the 36" length sounds too short. The fabric composition is 67% cotton and 37% rayon so I would anticipate it feeling more like a lightweight chambray than heavy denim. This shirtdress is available in sizes XS-3X and also comes in olive and blush.

ShoeDazzle-April-2017-Sneaker

Chasma Sneaker - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $59.95)

Speaking of sneakers, how adorable are these faux leather eyelet-looking lasercut sneakers?! In addition to white, they are equally awesome in the tan colorway available in all sizes. There is a contrasting underlay that allows for the design to really pop. Besides adding a feminine edge to the shirtdress above, I think they'd also look great with distressed denim and graphic t-shirt.

ShoeDazzle-April-2017-Bathing-Suit

Off Shoulder Ruffle One Piece - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $56.95)

ShoeDazzle and JustFab Swimsuit Shops have recently launched! I started reviewing both boxes last fall and didn't even realize they sold swimwear. This was my favorite style out of the bunch; I am drawn to one-piece suits that offer something a bit different style-wise. And between the floral print and off the shoulder ruffles, this swimsuit is making me want to travel to a tropical destination as soon as possible! ShoeDazzle notes a "true to size" fit and love that they also suggest shorts as a coverup, so that the off-the-shoulder ruffle bodice can double as a top! This swimsuit also comes in solid black and solid white. What are your thoughts or experience with their swimwear in the past?

Juhlia Sandals - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $62.95)

How wild are these sandals?! The cognac colorway are my favorite because they seem the most colorful. The black colorway is primarily blue tones and the white is very pastel - both great options too! The retail price is higher than their average sandal, but you can see there's a lot of quality detailed beadwork that has gone into them. And you can't go wrong with poms for summer, so all in all, they look like a great deal for $39.95. All colorways are fully in stock!

JustFab-April-2017-Dress

Easy Woven Dress - VIP Price $16.95 (regular price $35.95)

JustFab recently launched a Closet Steals shop, which includes essential tops, bottoms, and dresses, starting at $12.95. A simple a-line dress for $16.95? Sign me up! This style is 100% rayon and available in sizes XS-XXL and also comes in the color cinnamon. I really like the cuffed sleeves and gathered, but loose-fitting waist. This dress can be paired with leggings until summertime and bold statement accessories (cue the sandals just above!) would defnitely elevate this wardrobe staple.

Bandana - VIP Price $6.95 (regular price $12.95)

The bandana is certainly having a moment right now! And for $6.95, it's a great low-risk add-on to try out. This bandana is approximately 33", has a traditional bandana-looking paisley print, and also comes in blue. If tying it around your neck isn't your thing, it can also be rolled and tied as a headband. Either way, this basic piece of fabric can add a cool retro vibe to a plethora of outfits.

JustFab-April-2017-Jacket

Crochet Bomber Jacket - VIP Price $29.95 (regular price $56.95)

I am a big fan of different textures, and similar to the ShoeDazzle sneakers above, I am really drawn to this crocheted jacket. The fabric composition is 60% cotton and 40% rayon and looks lightweight. This bomber also comes in a nude blush colorway and both colors are fully stocked in sizes XS-3X. Again, this would be a versatile springtime piece, that can be paired with everything from denim and a contrasting colored tee, or patterned swing skirt and button down, to a black bandage dress JustFab also models with this jacket.

Olesya Sandal - VIP Price $39.95 (regular price $59.95)

It's hard for me to resist a quality looking wood platform sandal that looks reminicient of the 60's and 70's. I like everything about this sandal - not only the chunky wood platform, but the stud details, and the soft suede with cool side cutouts. These may be my top JustFab pick this month and I can't wait to pair them with the ShoeDazzle shirtdress! In addition to cognac, this sandal also comes in black, yellow, and denim - all sizes in stock.

This month, I definitely gravitated towards feminine, casual spring styles and colors. What do you have your eye on this month from JustFab and ShoeDazzle?

Sarah – I love your reviews! I totally disagree with prior posters about this being a sales pitch, honestly people, lighten up! This is clearly girl time, pouring over a virtual catalogue together, what did you like/what inspires you in the new releases kind of post. I happen to really enjoy it! I live in a house of boys and this website is my girl time! Keep on doing what you do, Sarah (and Liz!) it’s very much appreciated!

I got the Olesya sandals in black and can’t wait until they get here! I like these posts, but I also have to disagree on the kindergarten art project sandals. Lol

Hmm… this post seemed more like a plug for the Fab company- they own JustFab, FabKids, Fabletics, ShoeDazzle et al. Didn’t have the feel that MSA posts usually do, it felt like too strong of a sales push IMO. All are overpriced for what they are, especially the bandanas. You can get those for a dollar at Walmart!

I have been a member of all of these companies since their inception (except FabKids since I don’t have any) and really, its not the same vibe as say PSMH or FFF, even tho its a subscription based payment model.

Anyway, I miss the old MSA blog posts that didn’t feel so sales pitchy.

I’m going to have to agree with this comment too. I was so thrown by the Pom Pom sandals that I didn’t really read the rest of it thoroughly. It does sound like a sales pitch. I’m curious as to if there’s any compensation being given by the company for a feature like this? I know that hasn’t been the case in the past and I would think that MSA would stick to their rules, but this post seems weird. It’s different from other posts. I felt like items were being pushed on me by a salesperson and less like this is what the author is going to purchase (or already purchased). this month.

This is not a sponsored/compensated post. It’s an idea we had since Sara’s reviews of Just Fab and Shoedazzle are really well-received. We thought it would be fun for her to share more items she’s interested in since she can only review one item a month.

Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the feedback!

I’m going to have to disagree with you on those poof ball sandals. They’d be perfect if it wasn’t for the poofs. It reminds me of the muppets. And while I adore the muppets….yeah…

There were some similar flat sandals with multicolor straps in pink or blue and I thought those were much prettier.

I also agree with the $12 bandana comment. You can get them at the Army/Navy store for a lot less and in every color.

.

Agree! This post came across with more emphasis on “wear this because its on all the common magazines and websites because the industry keeps trying to make poms happen.”

I don’t understand these these post or these companies. JustFab and ShoeDazzle are owned by the same company, have the exact same premise, and as far as I can tell, have the exact same merchandise. I believe the inventory is linked as I have checked size availability for products on both sites and it has been exactly the same. Apparently, there are big ego names linked to both sites; maybe they don’t want to merge? It’s just very weird.

I got the Olesya sandal in yellow and love them!

Wow. $13 for a bandanna seems absurd to me, especially since you can get one for like $2 or $3.
