Scentbird was "born out of frustration with the "perfume graveyard" - expensive bottles of designer perfume collecting dust on your dresser or cabinet - Scentbird was created to provide an alternative that is both practical and exciting." When you subscribe to Scentbird, you'll get a $15.00 "credit" each month to buy a full sized bottle of cologne - this doesn't look like it is cumulative, and seems more like a member's discount.

Scentbird sends out authentic perfume each month in smaller vials for you to try them out, or switch up your scent more often. They also include a twist up perfume atomizer with your first shipment. You can order additional atomizers on their website for an additional fee. I received one this month as well in my men's subscription, but not my women's!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Scentbird Men's, $14.95 a month, box.

When you sign up, you fill out a survey to determine your scent preferences, and they recommend specific scents for you to try out. You add perfumes to your queue when you find one that you want to try which is how they choose what to send each month. If you don't choose one by the cut-off date, they will send you the scent of the month. Next month it is Black Bold by Kenneth Cole

Scentbird-Men-February-2017-Nottinghill

This month the next cologne in my line up was Notting Hill for Men. It has notes of bergamot, lemon, lime, jasmine, peppercorn, wood notes, and musk.

As soon as I pulled the little vial out of the shipping container, I knew I was going to like this scent. It's a very masculine scent. It is clean but isn't overpoweringly musky. I enjoyed it!

Verdict: As far as value goes, all Scentbird vials are the same size, 8 ml, or .27 oz. This particular cologne that I chose has a value of about $11.11 (based on Macy's 1.7 fl oz. size). If value is important to you with this subscription, I would recommend checking the prices on the colognes in your queue to make sure each month will be satisfactory as far as value goes!

For men's colognes, in particular, it is pretty hard to find a smaller size bottle for traveling if you don't want to take all 3 oz. of your cologne in your toiletries kit. The fact that we can choose colognes we like, in a smaller size that we can't find regularly is great. I love Scentbird for this reason! Plus, you get your $15.00 back in a credit in their shop for cologne, even if you don't love your choice for the month!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Scentbird is a horrible service. While the idea is fantastic, and they are legitimate and not scammers, they are hardly any better.

I’m happy that some people have good experiences, as I was very excited to try the service and love the idea!

However, if you look into it briefly, you will find COUNTLESS reviews and experiences similar to mine.

For Example-

It just doesn’t work. I just bought myself a gift of a 3 month prescription. I was billed immediately. No problem there. But I received no confirmation email, and most certainly received no email of the gift I paid for. On their site, I saw that the email it was sent to was mine. Spelled correctly, everything in it’s right place. There was a ‘resend email’ button next to that. I hit it several times. Nothing happened at all. No emails.

I entered a different of my emails, and repeated the process.

Nothing.

I contacted their customer support, of which there is no phone number available.

Nothing.

Just an automated response with no indication of resolving my problem or delivering my product.

More investigation revealed that of those whose orders go through, they are more often than not shipped late, if at all. Others report of being billed, and not receiving anything, even as the months change and the bills keep accumulating.

More often than not, you will have a bad experience with this company. Their diffusers are of poor quality, their customer service is even worse, and their problem solving and cooperation is non existent.

LITERALLY DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. There are many better options, that are cheaper to boot. For example-

Try ScentBox or Debonaire Scent.

JUST DON’T USE SCENTBIRD. 0/5 stars, all around awful experience.
