The Best Fitness Subscription Boxes - Voted by Subscribers!

We live and breathe subscription boxes here at MSA, and we know our readers do too. This January, we surveyed YOU for your favorite boxes across several categories, and we're happy to finally be able to share the results!

Competition for Best Fitness Box was so fierce: there were only 5 clear reader favorites! So read on to see which boxes topped the charts in the Fitness category, and then check out which box we've got out eye on for 2017.

Best Fitness Subscription Boxes

1. Avenue A by Adidas, $150/season

addidas-avenue-a-december-2016-0006

Avenue A by Adidas is a quarterly fitness and running subscription box. Every season they send subscribers at least 3 premium fitness items, most of which are sized. You can expect a mix of shoes, apparel and accessories selected by celebrity curators who exemplify style, fitness and performance.

We've been impressed with the overall value of this box, and we love that they're trying to make the box work for everyone: For the Winter 2016 box (pictured above), Adidas polled our readers for feedback about whether to include a lifestyle shoe or a running shoe -- and ended up including both thanks to reader comments!

2. FabFitFun, $49.99/quarter

fabfitfun_092016-005

The FabFitFun Box is a quarterly lifestyle subscription box from FabFitFun.com. Each season they send you a box of $100+ worth items in categories like beauty, fashion, and fitness.

FabFitFun is not a strictly a fitness-only box, but they usually include one fitness related item: in 2016, FabFitFun subscribers received a yoga towel, toeless workout socks, and a yoga mat strap.

wodbom-january-2017-review

MSA's Fitness Box to Watch in 2017: Ellie, $49.95/month

Ellie-february-2017-0004

Ellie just recently relaunched, and they're on our list to watch in 2017. Every month they ship 5 items for active lifestyles, including both apparel and workout gear (like resistance bands, massage rollers, etc). You can get a preview every month and have 5 days to skip if it's not for you. This is a great alternative to Fabletics if you're looking for fitness fashion, especially if you want to add some gear to the mix, too.

Okay first of all FFF is not fitness why is it in here? And second your missing some great actual fitness boxes. Miss muscle box and Hit box just to name a couple.

I just tried Barbella box and that one is awesome as well as the other 2 I mentioned above.

Didn’t see BuffBoxx on here. Surprising how they offer male and female boxes and have the supplements the others offer. PLUS, I get a premium article of clothing EVERY month (usually Under Armour, as of late) and workout equipment…for under $50 a month! Looks like I made the right choice!

Seeing as FFF hasn’t put an actual fitness item in their box since fall, I have a hard time seeing it on this list (which is a shame because I have always LOVED their fitness inclusion). A “TV subscription” does not cut it for me.

I know Bianca Jade left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths the last time her box was reviewed on MSA (and quite honestly, I almost cancelled my subscription because of it), but I do think her MIzzfit box is truly excellent and well curated. Like all boxes there are hits and misses, but the last couple of boxes have been outstanding. This month was all skincare and had an RV of almost $170 not including the vouchers. It was one of those rare boxes where I actually like and will use every single item.

I love Bianca Jade’s box! I look forward to it each quarter. I think she curates them very well and I usually end up using most of the items in the box. With her last box, I immediately started using the sonic face scrubber and face wash and I love them. <3 🙂

Me too! This is the best my skin has felt in a while.

I cancelled after a box that seemed to be all free samples but her last couple have been on an upswing (although she still has a distressing tendency to tease items that are only in the box in the form of discounts or golden tickets). The ones that were good though were really really good.

Love Avenue A by Adidas! Totally worth the money – you get four times the value you pay for, even more and it fets you ready for the season! I stopped buying sneakers ans just sticking solely to Adidas!

Foxy Boxes is one of my faves and their boxes have improved with the new owner (whom likes to have subscriber feedback and desires).

Beware of Ellie. If they run out of the promoted items in the monthly box they substitute items and sizes, yes sizes. I received a shirt instead of a tank and a bra in wrong size in my February box. When I emailed they said they substitute instead of canceling. That is unacceptable in my opinion. I got a shirt I didn’t like and a bra I can’t wear. I should have been offered the option to skip. Also, their customer service is terrible. Phone is never answered and you have to email several times before getting a response.

I just came across these reviews from March 2017. I subscribed in November 2017. No problems with my first box.

In December, I wanted to do the alternate outfit & was unsure if I did it correctly.
I asked Customer Service, who said I had. We went on to talk about when mine would ship (based on when you initially subscribe) & she offered to move up my billing/shipment date.

When it shipped, I noticed it said the month’s main outfit, not the alternate. I immediately sent a message so hopefully they could catch the error.

They were very apologetic and are letting me keep that outfit and have also sent out the alternate at no charge!!

So far I’m very pleased with Ellie 🙂

I’ve been following this box since the relaunch and comments like this make me nervous! I haven’t had issues with other subscription boxes that a lot of people face, so I’m still slightly tempted.

I may give it a shot if there’s a really good sale, varying subscriptions (every other month, quarterly, etc) or if I see the brands included start to mix up a bit. I think there’s only so much Marika I’d want to buy – which I can get at discount retailers anyways.

I love the idea of it though.. reasonable flat fee for a whole outfit and other items. Other fitness apparel boxes have the styling fee and then you still have to purchase everything individually (besides Avenue A).

Thanks so much for the heads up! I had my eye on this one but I think I’ll steer clear now.

Im with you. They sent me the wrong size bra and wrong sized shirt too. I also didnt get the water bottle because i used the msa discount code. I cant use the clothes and its impossible to get anywhere with cs. Definitely watch out for this one….and not in a good way.

I prefer the boxes with a blend of clothing, gear, and snacks. Buff Box has mystery boxes for $15 right now.
