Beauty Report Limited Edition Box Review – Box A

On March 29th, we posted about the Beauty Report Limited Edition box from New Beauty. (This box has since sold out.)

Dermaflash - Value $189

This set comes with the Dermaflash rechargeable tool, and a cartridge of blades, plus a "prep" cleanser, and a "soothe" lotion for after you've used the tool.

FYI - you can only use a blade once, and a refill cartridge costs $39.

I've used this once and I liked it! It removes peach fuzz and dead skin. My face definitely felt softer and smoother after using. I also felt like my skincare routine worked better after using it - we'll see how this continues over the next few weeks. I will likely end up buying replacement cartridges.

Decleor Hydrating Oil Serum – 5 ml Value $24

I first fell in love with this oil serum thanks to the August Beauty Fix subscription box, so I’m thrilled to have another one. (And good news – this sample is small, but you only need a few drops per application, so it actually lasts a while.)

This serum is made with 100% natural oils, and it feels decadent on my skin, and smells lovely, too. If you haven’t tried it yet, you are in for a treat! 

Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream - Travel Size (5 ml) - Value $7.50

FYI - since there were concerns about expired products in this box, I'll be listing out all expiration dates on products that are marked. 

Dr. Hauschka is an excellent natural beauty brand and this day cream feels fantastic on my skin. It's a rich cream, but it doesn't have a greasy finish.

Trilogy Age-Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil - 5 ml Value $11.50

(Expiration Date Listed Nov 2019)

This serum is designed to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and boost collagen. It also leaves a slight dewy sheen on your skin. And the best part? It's certified organic!

Babo Botanicals Lip Tint SPF 15 Conditioner - FULL SIZE! Value $10

(Expiration date 01/2019)

This lip tint is all natural, made with 70% organic ingredients, and the formula is moisturizing and adds a little shine.

The pigment is almost non-existent, though. Here it is swatched:

Veneffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment – .1 oz Value $25

This lip product is designed to hydrate and plump your lips, and help prevent vertical lines.

I wish the application tip was your typical lip balm applicator instead of just a standard tube, but besides that, I have nothing bad to say about this product!

It’s a bit like a cream going onto your lips, but it absorbs well. It definitely hydrates my lips better than a lip balm, too. I’m not sure I can justify the $85 full-size price, but I will enjoy this sample!

Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub - 1.3 oz Value $7.60

The Michael Todd brand is great for ingredient conscious beauty products. I found this scrub to be gentle, and it left my skin feeling clean but not dry. Not a life-changing scrub, but a solid product!

Trufora Titanium Day Cream SPF 30 - FULL SIZE! Value $30

Expiration Date: 4/17

It's important to call out that this product has an expiration date of this month. You can reach out to New Beauty if you'd like a replacement product. ([email protected])

I googled "is it safe to use expired sunscreen?" and found this result. Definitely, do whatever feels right for you, but I decided to try it since it looked and smelled fine. In fact, it smells really lovely! The formula looks like a shimmery pink out of the tube, but it blends in to give you a subtle rosy glow. I really love the finish of this sunscreen, so I'm hoping New Beauty will send me a newer version I can use for a while!

These products are designed for different skin types (dry/sensitive, normal/combo, oil/problem). Of course, I had to try all of them. Again, I loved the clean scents of these formulas. No surprise, I found the cream to be the heaviest formula, and the lite lotion to be the lightest!

Expiration date? 3/15/2016? (This product has "3152016" listed on the bottom of the box. I'm not 100% sure if that is an expiration date, so I'm going to reach out to find out before trying these samples.)

Apothederm Firming Serum - .15 oz Value $11

This serum is designed to make your skin feel firmer and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The sample is a decent size, so I should have about 2 weeks to see results!

Tiffany Anderson Gavee Gold Liquid Gold Peptides - 8 ml Value $24.80

Be careful when opening this! I assumed it would be more of a gel/cream consistency since it is in a jar, but it's a liquid that easily spills.

This serum is made with natural ingredients, and it has a fruity scent. It's designed to help brighten skin and boost collagen. I liked the formula, I just wish the packaging made more sense!

Lycopene Skin Creme - 15 ml? Value $22?

(This cream does not have a size listed on the packaging, so I'm estimating on the size/value.)

This cream has almost a bouncy texture to it, but it was still easy to apply and absorb into my skin. I didn't find it to be super hydrating, but it gave my skin a soft and smooth finish.

Farmhouse Fresh Island Elixir - 2.4 oz Value $13

Marula Oil Rare Oil Treatment - 7 ml Value $5.65

I loved both of these products! The hand cream has a light tropical scent and moisturized my hands without any greasy feeling.

The oil is great for damp or dry hair - I only needed a drop to add some shine and tame frizz.

Le Mieux Bio Cell+ Mask - Value $10

Expiration: 2/14/2019

This mask was a little thicker than your typical sheet mask, but it was still easy to keep on.

I liked the scent and found it to be super moisturizing - great sheet mask!

Verdict: I think this is an incredible value box if you were lucky enough to be one of the first 500 boxes and get the Dermaflash. Even without that bonus, the value is still great (but I didn't calculate it since some products may be expired).
