This new Boxycharm vs GlossyBox vs BeautyFix series compares my subscription every month to give you a good idea what you can expect from these popular beauty subscription boxes. (Boxycharm and GlossyBox are both $21 a month, and BeautyFix is $24.95 a month, so they seemed close enough in cost to compare!)

Check out my Birchbox vs Ipsy vs Sephora Play post series too!

Important to know: With Glossybox and Boxycharm, there are certain items that all subscribers will receive, but the remainder of items in the box will vary. With BeautyFix, all items are the same for all subscribers. (With the exception of perhaps different colors of a beauty item.)

Verdict: All good boxes this month, but my favorite is BeautyFix. The value is really incredible this month, and I love that they included so many high-end ingredient-conscious beauty brands!

What was your favorite box for April? And what was your favorite product?

Here are my general suggestions for which box to pick:

Boxycharm: If you are looking for full-size makeup, this is the box to go for. They consistently send out makeup in addition to haircare and skincare products. (You will quickly build up an impressive eyeshadow collection with this subscription box!)

GlossyBox: This is the best box if you're looking for trying out brands that you typically don't see in the US. You'll get a mix of US and EU brands. The one downside is that values of these boxes can vary depending on which variation you get, so make sure you're happy with the main spoiler items that everyone gets if you're thinking about signing up.

BeautyFix: This is my go-to box for sampling a lot of high-end skincare products. They usually round out the boxes with a few makeup and haircare products, too. You'll get a mix of full-size and sample-size products.

Beautyfix is a winner if you’re ok with not getting any or much makeup like me. I’ve been getting it for about 9 months and loved every one. Lots of high end skincare. My favorite item this month was the Veneffect lip product. It’s been the only lip product to get rid of my flaky lips. I also have GB and like it too but hard to beat beautyfix.

I loved the Boxycharm vs GlossyBox vs BeautyFix. I started out with 7 (including Ipsy, Julep, So Susan, and others). I also signed up for the top 3 mentioned above. I still have BoxyCharm (LOVE IT) and BeautyFix (LOVE IT). GlossyBox was too irregular and I thought overpriced for the small items I received. Oh, the other I LOVE is BeautyBox5!! That’s a good one!!

I haven’t tried Beauty Fix, but I have tried Boxy and Glossybox. Glossy was a huge disappointment. I always got the lowest valued box and products that were not the best. Boxy is great however.

Is it unusual to still not have a beautyfix spoiler on the first of the month? Not that I’m impatient or anything 😉

I believe it takes a couple days before that month’s box goes up for sale. They don’t release spoilers, so no one will know what’s in it, until it’s up for sale. So, yea, might be another day or two.

Definitely Beauty Fix!!! This box had products I’ve been meaning to buy but didn’t have $50 to spend, but at $25??? YES!!!!! I loved BoxyCharm but after they couldn’t replace my broken Ofra highlighter and deposited 4,000 charms in my account I realized how overpriced their items were and how unfair that experience was for me… I can’t buy anything but JUNK with the 4,000 charms. 😑 The Ofra Highlighter is what I was mostly excited about!!!!

I’ve been trying to tell people that for a while about Boxycharm – it’s brands you’ve never heard of for a reason: cheap, private labelled stuff. Sure, they throw in nicer things here and there, but when I reflect back on all the $$ i had spent on BC (hundreds), I realize I consistently use about $40 worth of products from the boxes. Most of it gets used a couple times during the month I received it and then gets trashed

I tell ya, I’m glad I quit. Already at $84 saved this year!

I hear ya… not worth it. Especially if they can’t replace broken or missing items! I guess the excitement of being surprised is what I pay for, but what’s the point if I come on here everyday for spoilers?! 😑😂😂

Claire

Mine was broken when it arrived and they said they’d replace it in my next box…is that not what really happens?!? This was my first box & the highlighter was pulverized when it arrived.

They told me they were out of stock! 😑

BoxyCharm is consistently my favorite, but BeautyFix is usually pretty good, too. Glossyboxes have mostly been misses for me, although I did like the ColorPop lippies this month.

i love this site. i just found out about beauty subscription boxes. i guess i live in a cave. now i’m obsessed. last month, i bought a subscription to: ipsy, birchbox, sephora play and beauty fix. (i got a little excited). i was not impressed with the $10 boxes. i guess i realized that i wanted FULL size products. So, i canceled them all. However, BEAUTY FIX was PERFECT! i don’t think $25 is that much to spend per month on a lot of products and many of the products are full size. i also thought the box was more age appropriate for me. it was super fun opening it up and i liked everything – some things i even LOVED. i am sticking with this box and i’m hoping i will continue to love it! 🙂 i am also looking into a purely organic box too – any favorites? i am reading all your reviews and have saved a few to come back to. i’m excited to see what they will all have in their may boxes and how you review them. 🙂

Pearlesque is my fave!

i’ve been eyeing this box – i might have to try it too. 🙂

Check out Benevolent Beauty. For some reason the reviews on this box don’t always excite me, but the actual box is so amazing. Beauty Fix is my favorite, but Benevolent is right up there in second place.

I recently discovered BeasutyFix and I love it! Boxycharm is great for make-up lovers. I tried Glossy Box but cancelled immediately- though they have the best packaging, they seldom rarely give full size samples, sadly.

Beauty Fix is my all time favorite box!

Beauty fix is always a winner for me. I’m truly never disappointed with them.

I love seeing these three boxes comped against each other. It definitely helped me commit to discontinuing my glossybox sub. This month it almost seemed like a target box to me, granted a great target box, but still a target box. Whereas BeautyFix seems to knock it out if the park again and again.

Many thanks for helping me narrow down my sub list…I needed a little kick!
