Shea-Coco Conditioning Co-Wash, 8oz - Value $9.99
This all natural co-wash condition is intended to soften, detangle, penetrate and protect hair from damage. A few key ingredients include sesame seed oil, shea butter, and coconut oil. Its paraben free, vegan, and non-GMO. The act of co-washing is washing your hair with conditioner as opposed to shampoo and is said to be a preferred method for those with curly hair. I have yet to try this new method of washing my hair, but it seems to be effective and popular.
From Natural Hair How to Use:
Conditioning Co-wash For Co-Wash- Thoroughly wet hair and apply Shea Coco Conditioning Co –Wash to hair and scalp. Massage product through hair and scalp. Rinse and repeat.
For Leave-in conditioning after Co-Wash: Thoroughly wet hair and apply Shea Coco Conditioning Co –Wash to hair and scalp. Massage product through hair and scalp. Rinse lightly leaving some of the Shea Coco Conditioning Co-Wash on hair. Finger manipulate through hair and style.
For Leave In conditioner: Can be used daily. Apply to wet or damp hair. Work the Shea Coco Conditioning Co-Wash into the hair from the scalp to the ends. Use fingers to detangle and style.
Shea-Coco Curly Hair Curl Soufflé, 8oz - Value $9.99
This product is intended for those with curly hair to define curls with no frizz and for those with medium to thick natural hair. My natural hair is not curly but I have a friend whose hair is thick and curly who this would be perfect for. So, I will be passing this on for her to enjoy.
From Natural Hair How to Use:
Daily curl defining and moisturizing on wet hair: Apply a liberal amount to your hair from scalp to the ends, finger manipulate and style. Works best after using Shea Coco Co-Wash and Leave in Condition. Add a little of the Shea Coco Monoi oil for additional shine and moisturizing.
Daily curl defining and moisturizing on dry hair: Part hair into sections and apply a liberal amount to one section at a time from scalp to the ends, finger manipulate to desired curl definition and style. Works best after using Shea Coco Co-Wash and Leave in Condition. Add a little of the Shea Coco Monoi oil for additional shine and moisturizing.
Shea-Coco Condition-Daily Leave-In Conditioner, 8oz - Value $9.99

Shea-Coco Monoi Oil-Natural Serum, 4oz - Value $9.99
This multi-use serum is meant for my hair and skin, from repairing split ends to a styling aid to applying to my body to keep my skin soft. I applied this product to my dry hands and my skin soaked it right up.

Detox Shampoo and Moisture Madness Masque Foil Packets - Listed Value $4.99
This two-step process is meant to detoxify all the grime and impurities from my hair. I will be taking this to my hairdresser in a few weeks to use. My hair will need a good detox. How to use:
Step 1 use detox shampoo to rid hair of impurities, build up, and unclogged pores.
Step 2 hydrates and replenishes hair’s moisture, strengthen strands, and adds a protective barrier against damage.
Shea Coco Natural Hair Style Cream, 8oz - Value $9.99
This styling cream is good for daily styling, twist outs while defining curls and reducing frizz and is non-greasy.
From Natural Hair How to Use:
Daily use for styling: Use on wet or dry hair. For daily styling, apply a liberal amount to your hair, massage or finger manipulate to form your curls or to just moisturize your hair.
Twist Outs/Two strand twists styles: Apply a liberal amount to the area before two strand twisting the hair. Works great on individual two strand twists or on twist rows. Let set for an hour or overnight if you intend to un-twist your hair for a twist out. Add a little of the Shea Coco Monoi oil for additional shine and moisturizing.
Cornrows/Braid-Outs: Apply to hair before cornrowing to achieve smooth and even braids and detailed braid outs that last. Add a little of the Shea Coco Monoi oil for additional shine and moisturizing. Hair Softener and curl definition: Apply a liberal amount to hair and finger, brush or comb through. Add a little of the Shea Coco Monoi oil for additional shine and moisturizing.
Verdict: This Cocotique box has a value of $54.94 which is incredible for a $20 box with free shipping. I appreciate having the entire Shea-Coco Collection in this month’s box but it was a bit much, and an entire box of hair products was not appealing. A mixture of other beauty products would have been nice. They have various takeovers that feature black-owned businesses which is great, but this takeover was meh, for me. Nonetheless, I will use most of the products. From what I have seen on their Instagram page they have takeover boxes often. Also, having my box arrive damaged was a bummer but luckily only a small amount spilled out of the unscrewed cap of monoi oil natural serum and the other items were in good condition.
What do you think of Cocotique's “Taliah Waajid takeover Box”? What Women of Color boxes have you tried?
