Fresh-from-the-beach waves and tip-top tootsies are SO easy with our customer faves Sea Salt Texture Spray and Mint Condition Pedi Crème. The texturizing hair mist plays up your hair’s natural waves and feel without ever drying it out. And of course, sandal season wouldn’t be complete without smooth feet. Our skin-quenching cucumber mint formula soothes and moisturizes while Alpha Hydroxy Acid gently exfoliates rough, dry skin. Now you’re ready to hang ten!

I have a couple of questions about the first box promos. Can you get the free welcome gift AND the 12-piece polish set? Does the welcome gift just mean that for your first month, you get a free introductory box? And are these promos only for people who have never subscribed before, or would I be able to get them if I start my formerly canceled subscription? And lastly, does Julep do something for your birthday month? I can’t remember which beauty subs do that. Thanks for any tips!

Janel

I do know that you get 200 Jules with your birthday and 500 Jules with your Anniversary month. Hope that helps for that part of the question!

Ok, here is what I did:

Box: No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel, Alexandria polish, Sarai polish (those are 2 new colors)
3 Add Ons: Sea Salt Texture Spray, Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover, Janie polish

I was bored the last couple of months, but I’m really excited this time! I love the Alexandria color! Ahh! I’m having a hard time choosing. I want the SPF having redhead skin, for summer. But I want that salt spray too 😀 I think it’s going to be yet another add on 3 month!
I’m not all about matte polishes either but I just do the usual top coat.

Melissa

I’m not crazy about matte polishes, but you can put a glossy top coat on them to make them glossy. These look kind of sheer, though. I don’t like VNL (visible nail line).

After a lot of disappointing boxes I’ve received from other subs, I’ve decided that one great thing about Julep is you know what you are getting.

1. You can see the value of everything you add to your bag, so you don’t get a low-value bag compared to other subscribers.

2. You get to pick your items, so it’s not likely you’ll get stuck with a product you hate or don’t need.

3. It’s really easy to skip a month.

4. They don’t decide to just ship their boxes out a week later than usual, and I actually get them near the beginning of the month! (Of course there are people who have shipping issues, and I feel for you, but I’ve yet to see anything like the FFF spring boxes or Serendipity or Popsugar mystery boxes… I could go on.)

I like surprises, but I’m not happy with all my subs that think surprise items = an inconsistent product.

Hillary

Man. I want the sunscreen and the foot lotion and definitely some of the colors. Pumped! I think Julep is always my favorite sub. I always get to pick what I want.

Julia

I know, I wish I got to choose at least 1 or 2 items in ALL my subs. Sephora Play would immediately improve like 800%.

Andrea

I signed up last month for Julep and got the free welcome box and just paid the $3 shipping for my first box. I don’t recall exactly which promo code I used. For my first box I got the green sparkly polish that is pictured above, I got a mauve colored lip gloss that retails for $20 something and I got that tear drop shaped sponge that is pre moistened with a cleanser.. I think it retails for $15. I got a total of 3 items in my box. I also got a coupon for 50% off my next purchase. I’m not sure if I would like to get another box… I’m not a huge nail polish fan.. and for the value… only 3 items in a 25 dollar box, I’m just not feeling it.. I’m thinking maybe boxy charm or new test tube? I don’t know… new to the subscription addiction.. any input?! I do want to try their gel eyeliner.. I’m thinking about using that 50% off coupon and just buying an eyeliner pencil and canceling the sub!

There was a girl on here last week or sometime, that said other than her big 12 piece welcome nail collection, she hadn’t elected to buy a single nail color. So, you can get around buying lots of nail polishes on Julep with their option of choosing your own items in boxes, and skipping months here and their so allow them time to get in new things, or however you want to work it.
I wish I had done that, because I really oversaturated myself in the beginning of my membership! I went crazy buying nail polishes, and I don’t even do my nails that often! Nuts, right?! They had a big sale. I could have just used my boxes to slowly get polishes, or just get great makeup and skin care.

*there, sorry –apparently I can’t use appropriate grammar at this time of day uggg

Mandy

Julep also has an amazng line of cosmetics and skincare. Since you have the flexibility to choose what you want you might want to give them a shot. For the $25 cost of the box you will get $42 in nail polish and a nail art accessory such as little decals or tape to add to your mani/pedi (or you can replace any item for makeup, skincare, brushes, or nail care tools). I think the cost per value is much better than a lot of other subs out there like Peaches & Petals.

I thought I’d be the same after I received the 12 piece free polish. Well, I haven’t ordered anymore polishes, but I’ve fallen in LOVE with their beauty items. The bare face stick, night mask, sponges, eyeshadow stick are all AMAZING. Theirs releasing a new “Complection Collection” in 18 shades that look AMAZING. I love that they allow you to customize and regularly have deals, their CS is spectacular too. I never thought I’d fall in love with their Beauty items!!

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Me too. Love the skincare stuff and being able to skip months is great. I’m not a huge nail polish person and get enough of that from my other subs.

Hillary

I would say that Julep is great because you can really customize your box. You don’t have to pick anything from the current collection either. They have lots of things to chose from. I like it because I’m not getting a bunch of crap that I don’t use. And you can always skip a month if you want.

Reply ButtonReply

Monique

I was really hopeful that they were going to release their new Complection Collection concealer and other items this month. I’m definitely jumping at the wave spray. My hair is long and love the Ouia and want to try some others. It gets pricey for the Ouia

Amanda

Silly question, but can someone tell me how to sharpen or get more out of the gel eyeliners? I got one and I absolutely love it, but can’t seem to get my brain around the idea of what to do.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

They also sell a sharpener for their pencils. I got one for free with the anniversary eyeliner set last year. I can’t imagine it’s too expensive.

Reply ButtonReply

Jira

You can use normal pencil sharpener with it 🙂

Tina

I like the yellow nail polish & am curious about the sunscreen. I have dry skin and it is a bit sensitive. Hopefully it won’t make me break out.

Reply ButtonReply

Janel

Just to let you know, absolutely none of Julep’s skin products have ever broke me out and I have extreme sensitivity with Rosacea and Adult acne, FYI.. The Konjac sponge and the cleansers I use and the night mask lotion, it’s all great!

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

I’ve used it on and off and had no issues. It’s gel like, and applies smoothly. I have mildly sensitive skin, and it went on fine.

Reply ButtonReply

Marilyn

I want all of them!

Sharon in SE TX

Me too! Beautiful colors.

jira

I thought they were launching the base makeup collection 🙁 Really want to try that 5-in-1 cushion stick.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I heard it will be available in August.

Reply ButtonReply

mimi

Probably not the top lilac-y color or the white, but the rest of the nail colors look good. I don’t need more sunscreen, as my CC cream has sunscreen and I have other sunscreens for when I go out without that; besides, I rarely leave the house anyway (I work at home; I’m not agrophoric or anything). I have lots of foot cream, but might decide I need one more anyway.

Reply ButtonReply

darla

Yes! This month looks AMAZING! I’ve skipped the last few months, but will definitely be back with this collection!

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Oooh I really like some of these colors, especially that nice bright yellow. The foot cream seems nice, but I’m not sure I’ll use it enough.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Any foundation/cream I put on my face always has spf, so I won’t need the sunscreen; however, I’m curious about the sea salt spray and the foot cream. None of the polishes are appealing, as someone else said, I like the creme finishes. The colors are nice and bright though

Reply ButtonReply

Carolann

For those who have had the sunscreen before, does it have an odor? This probably sounds silly but I’m partial to sunscreens that have that classic coconut smell.

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

No classic coconut smell or kind of any scent at all! I love it lol

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I sooo want the sunscreen!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

No question, the polishes are pretty but I’m a creme girl, HOWEVER the sunscreen is amazing so I will be getting more of that! Mint creme looks great unless I can smell the cucumber, I hate the smell of cucumber 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Glad to hear about the sunscreen! I was thinking about getting that this month and now I definitely will! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

I love the sunscreen. I selected it for my first box even though it was early winter and I live in Chicago, but my dermatologist advised that I should wear sunscreen every day. It’s possibly the sheerest, lightest formula I’ve tried.

jenn

luckily, this month is an easy pass for me. I think.
