Every month has a different theme, and April's theme was INVESTIGATE. It features franchises like Stranger Things, Batman, Jessica Jones, and The X-Files!
This month's box turns into a little CSI kit! This contains clues to solve the new Secret Order of Keys challenge as well.
You'll get a booklet that will feature information about the month's theme and franchises.
You'll also find information on each item in the box.
Investigate Pin - Value $5?
Every month, you’ll get a Loot Pin. It will be themed and grant you access to some digital loot - I love the little tape recorder and the hidden 'old' Loot Crate logo!
This month's pin gets you issue #1 of X-Files (2016) and issue #1 of X-Files: Origins! It also looks like you'll get double the free digital comics - they've also given us access to Metropolis #1 and #2!
Stranger Things Shirt - Value $15?
I'm not sure that I could love this shirt more? I'm loving the design of the Stranger Things graphic - it's like a throwback to an old school comic book cover. That seems very appropriate for a show that felt like a throwback. This is perfect.
Jessica Jones Q-Fig - Value $15-20?
Yay! This is the first Q-Fig from the core crate in 2017 - and it features Jessica Jones. Double win!
We didn't get a lot of demonstration of Jessica's power on Season 1 - but I'm hoping for more of that on The Defenders.
I can't get enough Q-Figs. I'm definitely a serial collector - but this is right up there with POPs for me. This month's figure is one of my favorites to-date.
Batman Color Changing Mug - Value $10-15?
Batman is represented in coffee mug form this month. Add some hot liquid to reveal more detail:
This reminds of the final bit of Batman: The Arkham Knight where all of Gotham is locked down and driven crazy by gas. I do appreciate that it's the classic 90's Batman logo, though!
X-Files Pencil Set - Value $5?
The final item in the box was a small one - it's a set of 4 X-Files themed pencils and a sharpener.
It feels like a toss-in item. I'm ok with that because the value is high on the other items - but people who subscribed solely for X-Files could be disappointed. Our resident X-Files fan was super excited to get these!
It also included a bonus little pamphlet to use while solving this month's Secret Order of Keys questions.
Verdict: The shirt, figure, and mug knock it out of the park for me this month - so I'm satisfied with the items, even if one of the items is a pencil set. That's not even counting the digital comics and pin, which add value to this month's haul as well. But, I'm curious to hear what you have to say! Let me know in the comments.
