Look for unbelievably cute this sculpt is. Baby Groot is having the time of his life on Rocket's head! This was a great first impression for me!

Star-Lord + Milano Dorbz Ride - Value $20-25?

The second first for Marvel Collector Corps is the first-ever Dorbz Ride in the box.

Peter is removable from the Milano - but let's be honest, you're going to want to keep him in there!

Marvel-collector-corps-april-2017-0016

The sculpt for Peter and the Milano are nice and detailed - as detailed as a Dorbz figure gets. While I'm not too big of a fan of the Dorbz line, I must say - I'm a total sucker for Dorbz Rides!

Secret Empire #0 - Value $4.99 + Exclusive Variant Cover

This is the lead into a new story arc for a lot of the Marvel teams. The exclusive cover features Rocket and Baby Groot - because, why not?

Marvel-collector-corps-april-2017-0012

This is a pretty epic storyline - featuring Avengers, Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more! Get in on the ground level with this first issue.

Verdict: After tinkering around and including mugs and hats for many boxes last year - it certainly feels like they've started to focus back on what got them here - vinyl figures. The past three delivery have all been home runs for me - and I cannot wait for the Spider-Man Homecoming box in June!

What did you think of the April 2017 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 themed Collector Corps box?

After subbing to the Smuggler’s Bounty and following these Funko boxes, their reveal of the Rocket-and-Groot Pop got me to sub to this as well. I backordered the X-Men box, which arrived first, so technically this wasn’t my first Collector Corps box, but either way, what a great intro to the series!

This box also gives me my first ever Dorbz, and what a great one it is! I may have to start collecting some Dorbz on my own now.

I’m not so keen on Pop-themed shirts, but they’re definitely well designed, I’ll give them that. Even though I’m 35 years old and I feel the Pop shirts are a bit childish, I’ll still wear it to work lol.

I just unboxed mine today. I love the look of the Funko, but it doesn’t stand on it’s own. Did you not experience this with yours? It is really disappointing.

I had the same issue with Rocket tumbling over. He took my entire set of Civil War Pops arranged in life-like battle action down with him like so many dominoes, but I’m not mad or anything.

Anyway, I fixed it by by bending his head forward a teeny bit — his neck is just a big ol’ spring — to balance out the weight of Baby Groot pulling him down. It worked fine and you can’t tell at all. He still looks like he’s standing straight, and no power equipment required!

And on another thread, I’m really bummed about the Dorbz. I love the Milano, but I just can’t get past Star-Lord’s face. I can’t get into Dorbz at all. I wish it was a Pop, like Wolverine and his bike from the X-Men box. That’s my favorite ever. I guess I’ll be looking for something cool to swap the Dorbz for, but it does make me sad to see it go. I just wish I liked it more.

I didn’t have an issue with this – but it was brought up in the Disney Treasures review. People have told me to warm up the area of the figure that you want to adjust with a hair dryer. Once it’s warm enough, you can adjust the leg so that it’s more balanced and can stand once it cools down.

Andrew

Thanks for mentioning that, Eric. I have a Harley Pop (the roller derby one) that won’t stand on its own, so I lean it against others. I’ll have to try warming it up and adjusting the legs a bit to see if that helps!

I definitely like where they’re going with these boxes. I nearly canceled after year one. I like that they did something different with the Dorbz figure, which I’m usually not a fan of.

Year One was definitely the low point and it seems like they’ve been better since – not to mention, none of the other lines have had a Year One box…so they may have learned there.

I’m so excited for this! I knew it had to be good, for me, because I love Guardians of the Galaxy. And Every single item in this box is a hit for me. The only thing I don’t really want is the t-shirt (I don’t wear them) but my hubby does and he LOVES this one. I can’t wait for the pre-comic and the gamora pin, and the rocket and groot pop! But in all honesty EVERYTHING is getting a use. So EXCITED!

Honestly, I was going to cancel this subscription as I have so many, but they managed to keep me on board with two things.

1. The figures and T-shirt in this box, all of them have an excellent design and I can’t imagine trying to sell or trade any of them.
2. Spiderman! Now I’m much more of a DC girl, but I love Spiderman. Along with Deadpool, The X-Men, and Jessica Jones, Spiderman and the universe (especially Gwen Stacy) is the reason I like Marvel as well 🙂 though I have to admit all the characters in Marvel Universe are amazing 🙂

I can’t agree more – their exclusive sculpts have really been amazing recently!
