Amy Rose Baseball Cap - Value $10.00?
We don’t play Hedgehog and there seems to be a lot of Hedgehog stuff in this box but this month we’re okay with it since Cira really likes this baseball cap. It’s cute!
I found a similar cap on Amazon but it is black.
Frozen Glow Tattoos - Value $2.99
Even though we’re not big Disney fans in this house anymore, I’m usually okay with getting Disney products since they make great gifts. Some little girl is going to love these glow tattoos!
National Geographic Kids Magazine - Value $4.99 (single issue)
My daughter loves getting this magazine in her box each month. This month we liked the Scaly Superhero information. I explained that the people that write books often take inspiration from real life and it’s easy to see that here.
Disney Infinity Figure – Fear from Inside Out - Value $14.99
We don’t have Infinity game so this is a real bummer for us. This is a pretty specific toy for Nerd Block Jr. to send out - higher value and distinct market. I certainly hope we don’t see more toys like this in the future.
Sailor Cats ShirtPunch! T-shirt - Value $15.00?
We’ve never watched Sailor Cats but Cira didn’t care because this shirt is really cute. We still take issue with the unisex sizing but most of the t-shirts we received Cira likes and will wear for bed or to play outside.
Dorbz Groot Vinyl Figure - Value $9.38
Groot is clearly the cutest character from Guardians of the Galaxy but this is a PG-13 movie so I’m not thrilled about the inclusion of this item. My daughter hasn’t seen this movie and this box is supposed to be geared toward ages 6-11. I think this is another bad choice for this month.
Verdict: My daughter really looks forward to getting Nerd Block Junior for Girls but I’m not thrilled about this month. My daughter loves getting new toys but typically there is at least one item that either is defective or completely not usable for us. Although we like the t-shirt, I wish nerdBLOCK (and ShirtPunch) would separate the sizing by gender so it would fit better.
This box (with shipping) is about $30.00 now which seems high for a t-shirt and a couple toys my daughter likes each month but there is also at least one gift item for current or future use. I’m usually on the fence about this box despite that my daughter enjoys it. The value is not good if you only use/like a couple items each month. The total value of the items on in this box is typically pretty high. The April Nerd Block Junior for Girls included about $54.35 worth of toys for a $30.00 box (includes shipping cost).
