PLVSH Style Subscription Box Review – March 2017

PLVSH Style is a subscription styling service for plus-size women. They describe themselves as "Concierge Styling, Exclusively for Women Sizes 14+." I love this type of box! When I signed up, I had to fill out a pretty in-depth questionnaire regarding my size, style preferences, and lifestyle in order for them to select pieces that are just right for me. Selections for each subscriber will (and should) vary.

PLVSH sent this info sheet with details on each item and a brief explanation of why each piece was chosen for me. I really like knowing that everything was hand selected for me!

17Sundays Embroidered Boho Blouse - Cost to keep $89.95

Just LOOK at that beautiful embroidery! It's just gorgeous! This top is 100% cotton viscose and has that fun, crinkly effect. I love this top, but I'm wondering if I can pull off a cream colored top. It also feels a little big on me.

Alison Dominy French Cuff Blouse - Cost to keep $149

Sorry to cut my eyes in this picture, but I have to admit this outfit made me feel a little silly! This is an exquisite top, with french cuffs, 100% crepe de chine poly, and shiny gold buttons. But, the color is too bright, and this is way too big on me! I think it would be better if I sized down maybe even 2 sizes, but I think it would still be too long generally and too long in the arms.

Eloquii Double Weave Slim Pant in Polka Dot - Cost to keep $89.90

I won't go into another diatribe about Eloquii. I am not a fan, and these pants are an example of why. It would be best to say they are simply not my style. I will say, however, that Eloquii's pants are probably the most high quality, durable construction of any pants in the plus-size market.

Vince Camuto Floral Print Blouse - Cost to keep $89

Is this a large floral print blouse that's actually slimming? Could it be? YES! A thousand times, yes! I don't know how, but this works. I think this could be a summer work blouse standard.

NYJD Ruffle Printed Tank Blouse - Cost to keep $108

This top is prettier on me than I thought it would be, and I love the red and blue combination. I feel like it's a little big in the shoulders, but not too much. I kind of wonder if it will be slipping around everywhere, though. Maybe I should exchange it for a size down? NYJD does run just a little bit big.

Verdict: I am a huge fan of PLVSH Style! Save the one outfit, I really liked everything I received this month. I love the Vince Camuto top! I also like that PLVSH sends me things that I would never try out for myself. It's good for me to get pushed out of my comfort zone a bit sometimes. I enjoy trying on higher-end pieces, and I like knowing that the pieces were picked just for me!

I know you said they are not your style, but I adore those polka-dot pants!! They are fabulous!

Anna, that Vince Camuto blouse is 30% off right now at Lord and Taylor. The rest of the tops are all way too big. The sleeves on the cream and pink ones are 4″ too long and the body is at least 6″ too long. The floral is all bunchy around the shoulders/front. Unless you are going to get them altered, I’d send them back.

You are so beautiful and you get a lot of nice things from boxes; I wouldn’t keep ones you aren’t totally in love with, including the fit.

Aw, thanks tpop! Sage advice.

I got a Vince Camuto top in a similar (or maybe the same) print in Trunk Club, but a different style. I loved the print, but unfortunately the one I received had a really weird fit on me.

However, the style and cut of yours are totally different and it looks great on you.

The prices for this sub are insane!

I agree. I like subscription boxes to try something new but how do people spend retail prices on brands that are always clearanced? Like I literally bought a shirt from TC that was 60% off the very next week at the rack.

The Boho top is lovely but the sleeves are so long they would annoy me. And you look absolutely adorable in the last ruffle top, but the cost!!

Thanks Julie!

You always look great. My question is- how do you have the room for all these clothes?? 🙂

Anna

Thanks! And lol! Um, yeah… I have clothing issues…

I read this review and your DIA & Co review back-to-back and it really seems like your DIA stylist just “gets” you better than this stylist. A lot of what I see from this sub seems very “mature” (for lack of a better word) and I say that as a 49-year-old. DIA’s choices seem to fit your youthful, vibrant personality and style so much better.

The first shirt with the embroidery looks beautiful on you! I really hope you kee it because you totally pull the look off well. I’m a sucker for some gorgeous embroidery and it would look so nice with a number of different tanks underneath paired with a nice jeans and shoes! Aww anyway, I loved it on you. Love seeing your reviews and getting to vote on outfits. Thank you for doing what you do!

Anna

Thank you so much, Lisa! You just made my day!

I second what Lisa said. I coldnt believe that the poll has most people voted to return it. You look great in it, it’s my favorite on you.

The last couple items are really nice on you but the prices to keep are just too unreasonable. I think you can get a njdj shirt much cheaper than 100 bucks at 6pm website.

Anna

Thanks M! And that’s a good tip, too.
