Each box comes with a booklet detailing the month’s products and prices. Art of Organics’ theme this month is “Detox” and the products are intended to purify, buff, clear and soothe your skin until it’s glowing. The abstract print on the booklet was done by Kristen Drozdowski from Michigan whose screen printed paper goods are available at Worthwhile Paper.
Prim Botanicals Debauchery Detox Body Scrub (4 oz.) - Value $19.50
First of all, I just love the name of this scrub. Debauchery Detox is meant to ease the effects of a night filled with debauchery i.e. excessive drinking, overeating, forgetting to remove your make-up, etc. It has a rich coffee aroma and an invigorating scrub that really wakes up your skin with Hawaiian black lava salt and activated charcoal. This scrub is heavenly.
Birchrose + Co. Cacao + Honey Antioxidant Mask (2 oz.) - Value $32.00
This mask felt very creamy and thick when applied. It has a crisp mint scent from the spearmint oil. This can even be stored in the fridge for more of a cooling effect. My skin felt super clean after using and rinsing off, not dried out at all and I thought it looked brighter.
Province Apothecary Clear Skin Advanced Spot Treatment (0.2 oz.) - Value $28.00
My skin is usually quite clear, but with the stress of selling our house and shopping for a new one I woke up with a pimple right under my eyebrow. I was hesitant to apply an oil-based serum to my pimple, but Clean Beauty Box hasn’t steered me wrong yet. I placed this turmeric-laced serum on the spot and it absorbed within a few minutes. I applied it again the next day and after just two applications it was almost entirely gone. Though this jar is small, one drop is all you need and it will last a long time.
Herb + Floral Botanical Facial Steam (2 oz.) - $5.50
This herbal and floral steam is made by Birchrose + Co. in small envelope pouches designed especially for Art of Organics. The steam contains lavender buds, rose petals, rosehip seeds, peppermint leaves, chamomile flowers among other natural ingredients. It smells mostly of chamomile, rosehip, and mint. The steam is beautiful with large flower buds in pinks and yellows. When I used the steam before bed I found it to be very relaxing and I’m happy to say I slept better that night than I had in weeks.
Verdict: This month’s Clean Beauty Box value is $85 which I’m very happy with. I was excited to unbox four products this month! Every single item was a hit with me personally. I thought it was a nice mix for both face and body and every item felt luxe. I love the packaging and curation and can’t recommend this subscription enough for anyone who looks to discover new brands of ingredient-conscious beauty products.
