The information card told the theme this month: Plants. It explained the STEM princess characteristic of the month is Generosity. It also listed each item in the box and had a small piece of literature about botanists (scientists who study plants) and an expert botanist named Susan R. Wessler, PH.D.

Characteristic Card

This month’s characteristic card is about generosity. This card encourages your princess to focus on a time when they were generous to others and write about it. The card reminds us that we can be generous with our time, love, energy and resources. I thought this card was a good chance for self-reflection.

Terrific Tulip Princess Dress - Value $20.00?

My daughter loves her green, black and gold tulip dress. It has short cap sleeves and lots of shimmery details. There is a side zipper to help get it on and off. Last month we found the dress a tad small so I reached out to customer service to size up for our next box. They replied within two hours and were so kind and accommodating. Top notch customer service!

Pretty Plant Headband - Value $5.00?

The headband was simple and fit my daughter (and the plant theme) very well.

Time for Kids: Plants! by Editors of TIME for Kids - Value $3.99

This book matched the plant theme and was an informative and well-photographed look at different types of plants. Time Life makes fantastic nonfiction books for children and I’m very pleased to see another included this month. My daughter enjoyed learning about the plants and looking at the photos.

Tutu-Royal-April-2017-Cookie

Two Dolls Bakery Butterfly Cookie - Value $4.00?

This red tulip frosted sugar cookie was gobbled down immediately and it tasted just as good as it looked. This was a nice little treat to find in the box!

Verdict: My daughter absolutely flipped over this box and I was happy to see how much was included for the $20 (plus shipping) price point. I am estimating the value of the box to be around $33 which I’m happy with. I like the idea that this box is mixing princess dress-up fun with some emphasis on education, STEM, and confidence boosting literature. I also appreciate that with each subscription purchased Tutu Royal donates a subscription to an adoption agency. What a great way for us to feel like someone’s fairy godmother.

That is Anna’s dress from Frozen. Excellent re-branding of left over Halloween stock?

Isn’t that Anna’s dress from Frozen?

This looks like a cute sub. I’ve been looking for a box for my daughter and niece. This is definitely an option.

I feel like it’s still a really good deal under $30, but for whatever reason, the $7.95 shipping fee put me off and I didn’t end up ordering it. It’s a super cute idea though.
