This month's theme is "Finding Peace in Nature." Spring has officially sprung and I can not wait to get outside more. This month's products are a "variety of tools made with only the purest plant-based ingredients and eco-friendly materials to help you reintegrate yourself with nature and find peace in the simplicity of just being."
The back of the information card lists the box's contents, brief descriptions, and values.
Every month, Yogi Surprise includes a sequence card that coincides with the theme. I enjoy yoga practices and like that I'll have this tool at my fingertips in between classes.
Yogi Surprise has partnered with Trip Tribe to give one lucky subscriber every month a free yoga retreat! This card shows last month's winner.
Areté Complete Hand Towel - Value $24
This is a great quality item. The hand towel is an 80% polyester/20% nylon blend that feels like a microfiber cloth, but heavier weight. I like the cool blues and Shibori dyed-looking pattern. This is in my yoga bag and perfect for wiping my mat or cooling myself down after a practice.
Along with the towel, Yogi Surprise included more information about Areté's founder and a 30% off discount code.
ToeSox Bellarina - Value $18
Now, socks like this are something I've never owned or tried before and I was intrigued when they were announced as one of this month's Yogi Surprise spoilers! I normally practice yoga in my bare feet and rely on the yoga mat's grip to provide traction. However, these organic cotton gripped-bottom socks will help to keep me grounded.
The socks were pretty easy to get on, although I did have to really help some of my toes through the openings. They feel really weird on, almost like I'm cutting circulation off on the top half of my toes. However, the grip is real.
The entire bottom of each sock is covered in gray rubber-like dots and my feet did not move an inch on my stone floor and yoga mat. I am grateful to have received these socks, but don't think I would proactively spend $18 on another pair.
Yogi Surprise also included a 20% off coupon for ToeSox.
Badger Sport Sunscreen Face Stick, 0.65 oz. - Value $6.99
This product is an all-season sunscreen and formulated to help sunburns, windburns, and chapping. It is organic, comprised of minimal ingredients including 22.5% non-nano uncoated zinc oxide. The stick formula can be applied to your face, lips, and skin and I noticed it's pretty odorless and has a minimal white cast when applied. It easily rubbed into my skin and I found the product to almost provide a protective layer on my skin's surface. It also quickly nourished my dry lips. I will definitely throw this in my bag to use as a sunscreen while out and about.
A promotional card was also included for the W.S. Badger Company.
POGO Eco Lips Lip Balm, 0.15 oz. - Value $3.14
What an interestingly-shaped lip balm! I received the apricot peach flavor and it smells amazing. POGO is a new brand to me, and I learned that their balms are gluten and cruelty-free, non-GMO, USDA organic, and include a fair-trade certified ingredient, just to name a few claims!
I mainly use C.O. Bigelow and eos products on my lips and I found this balm applied more similar to eos, but not as greasy. And obviously, the applicator is more similar too. The amount of balm is pretty tiny and about the same price as eos, which is 0.10 oz. larger. I noticed my lips dry out faster too, so I anticipate running out of this balm a lot faster than the others mentioned.
The bottom of the applicator is so interesting. It's a lot flatter than competitor products, which is great because this doesn't roll around at all!
Earth Science Naturals Facial Moisturizer, 5 fl. oz - Value $8.89
Earth Science is also a new brand discovery this month. This facial moisturizer is lightly scented with almond and aloe. It smells fresh, clean, and slightly sweet. The formula is lightweight and leaves my skin feeling softer than it does moisturized. This product contains hyaluronic acid, almond oil, aloe, and jojoba oil, so I hope hydrating benefits will be more apparent with continued use. However, I think this is a good paraben-free go-to for summer months when I put away my heavier creams.
From Molly With Love White Safe Smudge Spray, 4 oz. - Value $17.99
And here is this month's second spoiler! I have no experience with smudging so I decided to spray this around before meditating this morning. The scent is also very light and fresh and the sage and rose are very apparent, but not overwhelming. I enjoyed breathing this in and felt it was calming. The spray contains several essential oils, so I noticed some settling at the top of the bottle. Shaking the bottle to mix the ingredients creates cute bubbles. 🙂 I love that this is a handmade product and I feel like I'll have this 4 oz. bottle for awhile.
May Spoiler Alert!
I'm excited for these three items in next month's Yogi Surprise!
Verdict: This was another solid box from Yogi Surprise. Similar to last month, there is a nice balance of items and they all fit the theme well. This month's box has a value of $79. For $45 a month, that is a great value and it excites me to receive items from new-to-me brands and/or support small businesses while improving my health and overall well-being.
