BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – May 2017

I love this month’s box. I’ve been wanting to try a paddle brush for foundation and just haven’t gotten around to buying one, now I got a free one! It seems that no one wanted the cream palette and I admit I’m one that didn’t want it and was happy to get the powder. I love the Temptu highlight-a ton of people seemed to have a problem opening it (exploding) but I watched KathleenLights’ unboxing so saw that it was tricky. The brow palette I’m iffy over-I’ve tried powders with no luck but will try it again, could have been the product I was using. I love Boxycharm-I have never been disappointed and it is SO worth the $21.

Hi ladies! Is someone getting a box that weights 0.6 lbs or already recieved a box with that weight? I’m really hoping that I don’t get the cream palette. Thank you!

BoxyCharm knocked it out of the park again this month. I love all five items.

I am pleasantly surprised with this box. Received the IBY powder palette (yay!) and I like the highlighter far more than I was expecting. I thought it would be a glitter bomb, but it can be sheered out for a very natural shimmer. I’m excited to try it mixed into foundation.

BUT… this is a PSA for the highlighter. Mine had product stuck and the tip and it wouldn’t squeeze out at first. I cleared it with a needle and it still exploded a bit. This is a process best done over your sink!

I got my box today, I was wondering did everyone that got the brow gal get 02 brown hair? It looks too dark but if we all got the same I’ll just give it a try. Luckily I got the powder highlight/contour but it looks dark too but I’m going to try it maybe with summer I’ll get tanned lol or fake it with all the fake tanners I’ve gotten this month. Not my fav month but better than last month for me.

I got my box today! I was a bit underwhelmed before it came but now I’m pleasantly surprised.

I was most surprised on the temptu highlighter… I was like most of you… ‘blaaahh… more highlighters 😩😩’ but I actually will be using it for a body shimmer! Yes! That’s right! I opened the bottle and the product came squirting out. I did not want to waste the makeup so I just rubbed it all over my arms and guess what?! It gave my arms the most beautiful sheen ever!!!! Your hands might get sparkly but soap and water will wash it off easily.

So, if you are looking for other ways to use this product (since we are on highlighter overload I’m assuming) then use this on your arms and legs to have a beautiful glow for summertime!!!

I just got my box today, and I wasn’t too excited when I saw the spoilers at first, but the items really are amazing. I already have the Anastasia Beverly Hills powder contour that I love, so I wasn’t worried about which palette I would get. I received the IBY palette, and I am in love again. The powders are so smooth and blend so easily (dare I say, a touch easier than the ABH palette, which has been my holy grail item). The shades of each color are pretty different than the ABH, so much that I think I will end up using shades from both palettes. Where one is ashy
The highlighter is a nice rose gold, subtle shimmer. It feels really hydrating. I don’t think I would want it on my face, just because it is a little runny and could look sloppy really easily, but these temptu liquid bronzers/highlighters work wonderfully for body. The shade is also minimal enough that mixing it with a matte foundation on a dry day would like really nice, I think. Browgal is fine, I will certainly use it, but I don’t get the hype for that brand.
Funny, the spoilers really weren’t exciting, and it felt like a small box until I received it, and I think it might be my favorite. I never would have bought any of the items, so kind of fun to try something I wouldn’t have otherwise. Great box. I think the contour in creams is probably nice, though I am glad I got the powder. I haven’t talked to anyone who got the cream contour set, but hoping that is as impressive as the IBY.

This month is a home run for me. I was lucky and got the powder palette. I am older and I prefer matte eyeshadows so these are perfect for that.
I love the BrowGal palettes for both brows and eyeshadows. Most brow shades are too dark for me. ( I am a very fair skin redhead) but the lightest shade is perfect for me!
The paddle brush is so soft and having a cover is win. In the notes it does say that this brush is best used for cream based products. It works well with powders, too.
The Temptu is a subtle rosy glow. It mixes with foundation, moisturizer or even face oil.
Best box of the month for me!

I just received my box today and I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of every single item! The brushes are high quality, and both the powder palettes look like they can be as natural or as dramatic as you like. The liquid highlight really is a subtle glow when blended, so it’s not too shimmery at all. Very very impressed! As just a regular makeup lover, I think ill be using every one of these items.

I have a question! I’m new to BoxyCharm and I got put on the waiting list. I got an email yesterday (5/12/17) saying that I am now off of the waiting and it charged my card. Does that mean I’m getting the May box? or am I getting next months box?

I am just putting this out there and it’s just my opinion. It seems like most comments for this box has people saying they hope for the powder palette. So far every you tube reviewer has received that palette which leads me to believe us paying customers will probably get the cream palette. I’m hoping I’m wrong.

Gosh, this box looks awfully boring.

I don’t highlight or contour, but still think it’s a great box for $20. I will definitely use the paddle brush and the brow palette with its spoolie brush. Those 3 things are worth more than what I paid for 🙂

So I am new to this subscription box thing. I signed up for this box, ipsy and play today. I am of course on the waitlist. I have been reading comments about a swap site? How does that work? I am excited to get started.

I recieved the Brow Gal Pallette and brush in my Beautycon box also! I have never used any color on my brows so I tried it and im in love with it! The colors are beautiful and I used The dry method…..thought it would def transfer but not at all!!! IM hooked so im excited to get a backup! A+. #LOVEBOXYCHARM

My entire box will be up for swap as well. Nothing exciting in there at all for me. Everything is brown. Yuck need something with color.

Liz, do you know if there will be any variations this month besides the palettes?

Looks pretty cool! Hopefully I’ll get a good use out of the contour palette. If it’s too dark for me whatever I’ll give it to my friend 😬✌🏻

This month is a bust for me 🙁 And i really wanted it to be good! It’s my birthday month haha My entire box will be up for swap.

I was taken off the wait list this afternoon. I think I am one of the few who actually wants the cream contour. I don’t do any contouring beyond using a little bronzer so I think it would be fun to experiment with the creams.

The brow palette and spoolie count as two items? I got them in last Beautycon box. The BrowGal site counts them as one item for $35.

@Liz and Boxycharmers this Box is so nice. I like it all I really wish and hope I receive the powder palette because My skin works best with Powder than with cream. I like the pigmentation. I thank you and Boxycharm for this review

Well, mine shipped today, and will be here by Tuesday.

Fingers crossed the 0.8lbs weight means its the one with powders.
