This new Boxycharm vs GlossyBox vs BeautyFix series compares my subscription every month to give you a good idea what you can expect from these popular beauty subscription boxes. (Boxycharm and GlossyBox are both $21 a month, and BeautyFix is $24.95 a month, so they seemed close enough in cost to compare!)

Check out my Birchbox vs Ipsy vs Sephora Play post series too!

Important to know: With Glossybox and Boxycharm, there are certain items that all subscribers will receive, but the remainder of items in the box will vary. With BeautyFix, all items are the same for all subscribers. (With the exception of perhaps different colors of a beauty item.)

Verdict: This was an interesting month for Boxycharm, Beautyfix, and Glossybox. While I liked products in all the boxes, there wasn't a clear standout box. But the tie goes to Boxycharm and Beautyfix. I'm going to give the win to Boxycharm because of all the full-size items. (This month Beautyfix delivered on value, but I would have loved to see at least one more full-size item.)

What was your favorite box for May? And what was your favorite product?

Here are my general suggestions for which box to pick:

Boxycharm: If you are looking for full-size makeup, this is the box to go for. They consistently send out makeup in addition to haircare and skincare products. (You will quickly build up an impressive eyeshadow collection with this subscription box!)

GlossyBox: This is the best box if you're looking for trying out brands that you typically don't see in the US. You'll get a mix of US and EU brands. The one downside is that values of these boxes can vary depending on which variation you get, so make sure you're happy with the main spoiler items that everyone gets if you're thinking about signing up.

BeautyFix: This is my go-to box for sampling a lot of high-end skincare products. They usually round out the boxes with a few makeup and haircare products, too. You'll get a mix of full-size and sample-size products.

Forgot to add, thanks for the breakdown comparisons, Liz! Super helpful for sub newbies like me 💜

I cancelled Boxy after 3 months because I felt even though full size products were nice, it was of no use if the colours were ORANGEY BRONZE & other weird shades. Based on everything after March, don’t regret that decision.

When Glossy offered their May box at 50% off, I caved. I hope I get good items & not leftovers. Depending on June spoilers, I’ll probably cancel after 1st box. Glossy looks to be all over the place!

I sub to Beautyfix – LOVE it. May was my 1st box & I was a little underwhelmed initially, but it’s all good quality products. I’ll stick with it especially because I prefer skin & hair care over makeup.

I sub to all three. Boxycharm takes the win this month, simply because it has more stuff that I’ll actually use. I thought I’d be more disappointed with Beauty Fix after seeing the spoilers, but the deluxe samples that I got your really nice. I got the Glossybox without the palette. The only thing I liked was the hair mask. The nude lipliner just didn’t do what I was hoping it would do. Even so, I’m still looking forward to next months boxes.

I sub to all 3 but Boxycharm was the best out of all of them.

I’m addicted to the AHAVA hand cream.

I get all 3 and Boxy was the win for me this month too. I got he other variation of Glossy with the hair mask instead of the pallet. Your Glossy was much better than mine.

I received all three boxes this month, and although BeautyFix is usually my favorite, I’ve been getting the most use from my Boxycharm. I was lucky enough to get the IBY Palette and thanks to the instructional notecard, I’ve started contouring daily! I love the brush and the brow girl. The only item I haven’t used is the liquid highlighter, but I will try it with body lotion–thanks for the tip!

My fav BeautyFix item is the Ahava lotion.

I (guess) I was one of the lucky ones with Glossybox. I got the palette. I used it once and the formula didn’t blend well. It just didn’t look as nice as the other eyeshadows I’ve acquired from other sub boxes lately. I do like the charcoal mud mask in my box, so the box wasn’t a total bust.

I get beautyfix and boxycharm out of the 3 I enjoyed beautyfix the best. Although sample/trial sized I like them better. I don’t use a lot of product so that size is perfect for me so things don’t end up in the trash.

I really love these comparison reviews, as well as those for the $10 beauty boxes. They are so helpful in deciding what to try next!

I am subbed to all 3. I did nor receive the makeup compact in my Glossy( cant even remember what I received) so that makes my Glossy last place. I almost always love my Beauty fix, but it did feel light on full sized products this month. However, I love the variety of products that Beauty fix sends. I loved all of my BoxyCharm products this month. I am am going to try adding some of the Temptu to my lotion…great idea!

I read these comparisons to see if I can be tempted to subscribe to Boxycharm or Beautyfix. I was subscribed to Glossybox for a year, and I won’t be doing that again. I routinely got the lowest value variations, which would be fine if they were only *slightly* less valuable. However, what I got was always far, far less valuable both in monetary value and in usefulness-to-me value.

I’m thinking I might hold off for another month or so and then pick up one of the other two, if a K-beauty box doesn’t sweep me off my feet first!

I was pretty peeved that my glossybox was one of the lower value ones until I actually tried the Kevin Murphy hair mask I received. it’s *fantastic*.

Glossy doesn’t always deliver for me, but when they do, they lead me to brands I would have never found otherwise.

You’re not alone. Glossybox replaced the palette in a lot of their boxes with significantly lower value items. They tend to do that often, but it’s particularly frustrating when they swap out of the heavily promoted “hero” item, like this month’s palette, for some $2 drugstore nonsense. It’s too much of a pattern with them to keep my business.

I have to say Boxycharm for the win for me this month too! After the spoilers, I was a bit ambivalent about this May box but I really like the versatility of the IBY highlighter (matte) palette, I really needed the brow trio and it was just the right shade, and I’m loving the crown brush! The Temptu highlighter is nice – a bit sticky feeling by itself, but I love the rose gold colour and will use it all summer long.

I haven’t seen a Glossybox yet that has enticed me to subscribe, so no opinion there.

The Beautyfix had a lot of bang for the buck, but no real super standout. Except: I am really starting to see an improvement in my lashes and brows with the lash enhancer! I was skeptical that it would do anything – but I’ve had some noticeable bare spots for over a year that are totally filled in – in such a short time! Now hoping over time they’ll get longer!

I couldn’t agree with your post more!

Cancelled Glossy box because of lack of full size samples. I loved Boxycharm’s May box and wasn’t that thrilled with Beautyfix – but trying out the lask enhancer twice daily, and we’ll see if it delivers. So Boxycharm sis May’s winner for me as well 🙂
