Bresh Wet Wipes for Women (12-count) – Value $2.50 (buy a package of 48 for $9.99)
Although these say they can be used on face, hands, and body, the ad copy I read for these on a couple of different websites makes me think they are more of a feminine hygiene sort of product (or can be used that way), so I am not going to use them for makeup removal! I think I am going to keep these in my car for when I am out and about on hot days this summer. I tried one out and the wipe was soft and, although they are scented, they didn’t irritate my skin.
Defiance Fuel Preworkout Supplement in Fruit Punch (4 servings) – Value $2?
This product seems to be new to market because it is not on the Defiance Fuel website, so the value is an estimate. This pre-workout supplement is lightly caffeinated (about the same as one cup of coffee) so I am going to drink it on mornings when I am slow to get moving rather than before exercise. I do like the fruit punch flavor – it is not too strong in 32 ounces of water.
Black Reebok Workout Ready Capris – Value $35
I get irrationally excited to receive workout pants in a fitness subscription box. Probably because I was making do for a long time with a lot of ones that didn’t fit so great. But these are perfect for me. I’ve been wearing them around the house all day for cleaning, walking around the neighborhood, yard work, etc., and they fit great and are comfortable. (I’ll work out in them tonight, too.) These are well-made and go to just below my knees. (In the “regular” BuffBoxx, you’ll always get Reebok apparel. I have received various leggings and capris, shorts, and tanks so far.)
BuffBoxx Lanyard – Value $1?
There is usually some promotional BuffBoxx merchandise in this box. It’s never a very big part of the value and it’s something different each month. I am considering putting a house key on this so I can wear it around my neck when I walk Nyx, rather than trying to juggle a leash, dog waste bags, keys, etc.
Flapjacked Protein Cookie and Baking Mix in Chocolate Chip (9 oz) – Value $6.99
I like Flapjacked pancake mix but I have never had the cookie mix before. These were super quick to prepare and since I received this box on a weekend, of course, made them immediately. These have about 5 grams of protein per cookie, give or take. We are storing them in the freezer so we can have them as after-dinner snacks when I have calories left over.
Here are the cookies I made from the mix. They have a really spongy texture and are a little bit dry, but taste pretty good and you can make up for the dryness by having a drink with them. I did turn up the oven temperature a bit higher than recommended on the package after seeing how liquidy the dough was and I think this was the right call. All you need is 2 eggs and 6 tablespoons of butter plus one bag of mix.
Goodbyn Portions On-the-Go, Green – Value $11
There are a lot of kids on the Goodbyn website, but this product is also good for portion control for adults. There are a couple of lunches I make where this will be useful.
Also, everything fits neatly inside the outer large container!
Goodbyn Ice – Value $3.50
And this is the perfect size to keep everything in your Goodbyn lunch container cold. This is BPA- and phthalate-free and is filled with pure water rather than coolant.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $62 for the April BuffBoxx. That is comfortably above the cost of the box. I think everything is useful and the largest portion of the value – the workout capris – is something I’m super excited about. I also like having an excuse to bake.
What did you think of the April BuffBoxx? Do you subscribe to any fitness, weight loss, or workout subscriptions?
