This is the first month I have received my box packaged in the warm weather insulated container. It's a sturdy styrofoam box that can definitely be reused to insulate soda or beer cans. And they also included a freezer pack and wrapped the chocolates in an aluminum bubble envelope. This past week hasn't been super warm in my area, so the chocolate arrived intact as normal, but I'm glad to see the quality and consideration Chococurb takes!

There was no information card included in this month's box, so let's dive right in!

Theo Limited Edition Spring Collection Lemon Milk Chocolate, 3 oz. - Value $4

Now this, for me, is a first. I love chocolate and I love lemon but never thought they could pair together well. This bar proves me wrong! The chocolate itself is 45% organic milk chocolate and gluten and soy-free, along with being kosher and fair trade.

This solid bar has eight 1" squares and is really good. The lemon flavor reminds me of a lemon meringue pie; ever so slightly tart, but mild. The two blend really well together and I can see why it is part of Theo's limited edition spring collection. Great discovery!

Wm Chocolate Honduras Wampusirpi, 2016 Harvest, 2 oz. - Value $8

This chocolate and brand are also a new discovery. This bar is handmade of single-origin 70% dark chocolate from Wampusirpi, Honduras and has tasting notes of banana, malted milk, and caramel. The ingredients also include Hawaiian red salt, found specifically in Kauai.

There are 12 standard-sized rectangles of killer chocolate. My taste buds were a little bit on overdrive when eating a piece. You immediately taste the darkness of the cocoa and then met with a variety of flavors, ending with the sea salt. It tastes high-quality and will be enjoyed in small increments!

Seattle Chocolates Spring Surprise, 2.5 oz. - Value $3.75

Yay, another spring-themed chocolate bar in this month's Chococurb! This truffle bar is made by Seattle Chocolates and is a blend of dark chocolate, coconut, almonds, and sea salt. It is non-GMO, vegan, and gluten-free! I love the packaging too and could totally see including this in an Easter basket or Mother's Day gift.

I really dig the zebra-esque texture on each of the four rectangles. And this chocolate is also really good and tastes high-quality. I'm not picking up on coconut, but do taste a fruitiness that may be coming from the chocolate itself. The roasted almonds are plentiful and crunchy and the sea salt in minimal but the perfect amount to balance everything else.

Fran's Smoked Salt Caramels, 0.9 oz. - Value $6.43 (buy 7 pieces for $15, 20 pieces for $32, or 40 pieces for $58)

How adorable are these three caramels?! They are made with milk chocolate, the smoothest caramel, and a dash of sea salt on top. The three ingredients blend so well together and despite tasting really rich, I want to devour all three of these in one sitting!

Each caramel is about an inch long and the perfect introductory to Fran's. They offer a variety of flavors and I would absolutely gift these caramels to a loved one!

Mayana Chocolate Cloud Nine, 2- 1.5 oz. - Total Value $8?

I like that Mayana has become a permanent fixture in Chocourb. They offer tasty and high-end chocolate bars in a variety of flavors. Unfortunately, Cloud Nine is not available for sale, so I've based my value on their other flavors. I received two 1.5 oz. bars and combined they appear to be a similar size as the chocolate bars I've tried before.

The Cloud Nine is a mix of marshmallow, fleur de sel caramel, and 66% dark chocolate. I love the marshmallow's smoothness and the caramel's rich and salty flavor. The chocolate itself is pretty straightforward and a bit flaky. This might be my most favorite Mayana yet!

Verdict: This was another solid month from Chococurb! I received five different chocolate bars, worth $30.18. This month, I factored in the warm weather shipping material costs, so, unfortunately, that means the value of the box contents falls way short of what I would have paid for the box ($35 + $16 warm weather shipping). I am impressed that Chococurb is committed to executing quality shipments during the summer, but the total cost compared to the content value has me reconsidering this subscription for myself. However, I do think Chococurb would make a great gift if you are willing to pay the upcharge because you have the insurance that quality, artisan chocolate will arrive at your recipient intact and ready to enjoy! And of course, you can use our ADDICTION coupon to save 10% off your first box!

Have you tried Chococurb yet?

I make a lemon-chocolate chip shortbread. It pairs fantastically well! Orange and dark chocolate work well together too! Pairing it with a darker chocolate can help cut through a sweet base!

Am seriously considering buying a bar of that lemon chocolate. The value of the box itself isn’t high enough for me, but that bar looks am-a-zing!
