Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $19.00 for new members. (I'm not sure if "new members" refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

The key takeaway here is that this subscription won't automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

I signed up for Fabletics to try out their "2 leggings for $24" deal. I do yoga at least 3 or 4 times a week, but my leggings game is pretty pitiful. Most of my leggings are just plain knit ones that have holes and are really stretched out by now. I've heard so many good things about Fabletics, from how well they fit to how well they perform. And this introductory deal is awesome, so I'm willing to give 'em a shot!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The package comes with this booklet welcoming me to the VIP program.

It outlines all of the details about how the subscription works. I found the process a little hard to wrap my head around at first, so it's nice to have this info handy.

Kate Hudson makes a great co-founder/spokesmodel, but our body types couldn't be more different. I'm interested to see how these leggings look (and fit) on someone whose silhouette is a little less lean and straight. I usually wear around a size 10 in jeans, and I'm only 5'3", so sometimes I need shorter-length sizes. For this subscription, I picked size large leggings in regular length (you can choose long, regular, or short). I figured I'd see what "regular" meant to Fabletics before picking something shorter.

As if they heard me thinking that, Fabletics popped a picture of people of different body types wearing their products on the next page of the booklet. Okay, okay, Fabletics, I'll try to think more positively!

The back page has a refer-a-friend offer on it, in case I feel like spreading the word!

There's a Blue Apron coupon in the box, too. Cool!

Brogan Mesh Leggings - VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $79.95)

So, when you sign up for the VIP membership, you get to hop in and choose which two leggings you want to receive with your offer. There are a ton of options in all different colors and patterns. I decided I'd go with one bold pair and one simpler pair. I'm super into the trend of leggings with mesh panels and details, but this is my first time trying them for myself. I love 'em! The angles and contrasting colors make me feel like a superhero. And the mesh panels are thick enough that they feel as sturdy as the rest of the leggings.

The leggings are thicker material that hugged my body in a way that felt secure, yet not suffocating. I didn't worry about sweating through these, nor did I feel like they were going to fall down (the waist is nice and wide, but not so forgiving that it felt like it was sliding around). I'm far from being the most athletic person, but these leggings make me feel like some kind of ultra-cool fitness warrior!

Salar Leggings in Monarch Print - VIP Price $49.95 (Retail Price $79.95)

This is my "simple" pair of leggings—yeah, the pattern is anything but ordinary, but the cut is one of the brand's signature designs.

Check out what I got in my first-ever order from Fabletics!

These leggings were similarly thick and super comfortable. I've been burned by all-over print styles before—ones where the design fades when the fabric is stretched out. But the rich colors of this abstract butterfly pattern stayed bold and clear even as I pulled them up over my legs. Oh, and on that note—I was actually surprised by how nicely both of these leggings fit my body. I'm always worried that leggings won't be able to handle my booty zone, but both of these styles were perfectly fitted (not restrictive or loose). There's nothing worse than getting deep into a yoga pose and worrying that your leggings are stretching out or, alternatively, going to slide down. In these styles, I felt secure—I didn't have to worry about wardrobe malfunctions, so I could focus more on my practice.

The Verdict: I was really impressed by Fabletics! They have an awesome product that fit like a dream and made me feel like a fitness queen. The 2 for $24 deal is fantastic, and definitely left me hooked. These two pairs have a retail value of $159.90, which makes this $24.00 package, uh, basically the sweetest deal ever. Now, starting next month, I'll be charged the $49.95 membership fee if I don't buy or choose to skip the month (and you do have to actively go in and choose the option to skip it, not just not buy anything). The VIP price for both of these leggings was $49.95, meaning I would only be able to nab one of these pairs per month. It's a lot to pay almost $50.00 for leggings, but if I don't nab more pairs than I need, and I put them to good use, I think they're worth it. The quality of these leggings is so good that I feel like they're an investment piece I can justify. I just need to remember to use that skip button now and then!

So,I’ve never looked into fabletics before this review and it was totally because of the price point. BUT…I didn’t realize you can skip. And I also didn’t realize it isn’t necessarily a flat $50 a month. So, am I right in understanding that if I find something for $30, for example, I can just choose that and I wouldn’t be charged the full $50 for that month?

Yep! You don’t have to pay anything at all, if you skip a month. I always skip and then wait for their awesome sales to buy anything. This last Memorial Day sale was 50-80% off, I believe. Also, when you purchase, you earn points. At the end of last year, I had enough saved up and I picked out a free pair of capris I had my eye on. I really love this brand and recommend to everyone. 🙂

I have seen good intro deals for them and face it – I like anything that Kate Hudson endorses just because I love the woman but I cannot find anything that I like. Every photo that is shown in advertisements, commercials or in the promos aren’t just “sold out” they just do not exist. I go to basic places for yoga pants, like target, ebay, all kinds of stores because at fitness stores – they have a higher markup price. The clothes are made in the same factory but are five times as much. I have a range of sizes too, lengths, hip widths etc. I find Ross and Marshalls and those types of stores to be goldmines for these types of products. You’ll walk out with a wardrobe for 50 bucks. I really want to give them a chance but since they don’t carry what they advertise, I’m not into it. I don’t want to search for an hour online for a two piece outfit…I don’t think anyone does! And btw – you look FABULOUS!! I’m happy that there’s a service like this for people but beware that you will get much better deals by going to “discount” stores. Even 5 and below have yoga pants (I’m in Mid Atlantic so I’m giving folks other options if a 50 dollar a month fitness clothing box is out of range because it sure is out of mine!)

I love your reviews!

After spending too much money on fitness clothes that either don’t stay put or look like a rag after a few washes, Fabletics is my #1 choice.

Thanks so much! I’m right there with you – I either tend to splurge on pieces that don’t live up to their price tag, or I spend too little and end up with low-quality items that shred or stretch out until they’re see-through (the WORST). Fabletics seems like the perfect happy medium. I’m glad you think so, too!

Thanks for reading 🙂

I really want to try this sub. I have ordered a few of the plus sized active wear outfits from AdoreMe and they’ve been great. They cost about $49-$59, which sounds like fabletics price range, but fabletics has so many options. I love the variety of products and prints and they do sound like they’re pretty great quality. I love the leggings you chose. You look great! Thanks for reviewing 🤗

Thanks for sharing your insights, Alex! I’m so glad it was helpful. And good to know about AdoreMe!!!

Alex, Fabletics quality is great, but I got a better fit from Lane Bryant’s Livi Active line. I think they do a better job fitting a plus sized body, especially with the tops. I love their Wicking Active bottoms. You can get them on sale for 40-50% off quite often if you watch the website.

Agreed – I also love Lane Bryant. I’m not quite in the plus sized range but have been and love their deals on things. Just because we are not a size 4 doesn’t mean we don’t exercise or are healthy and beautiful! I’m glad to see fabletics learned this market wasn’t being touched and should be! Thanks for your reviews Alex, I always enjoy them and are helped by them!

Sara

I’m another huge fan of Fabletics! Your review was spot-on—the clothes do make me feel like “an ultra-cool fitness warrior”!!! 🙂 Great review!

Just so you know, you will have the option to buy an outfit for between $49.99 & about $69.99 which includes a bottom (leggings/shorts/pants/capris), and a sports bra or a top, or sometimes a bra & a top. So you’ll be able to get a better value than just $50 leggings each month.

Oh, and I LOVE the Brogan line! I have the Brogan capris & they feel amazing.

I love Fabletics! I’m a curvy girl and I was worried about the fit. I can pull them up/down no problem and they stay in place fine! They’re so comfortable, they feel like a second skin almost. Also, there are regularly sales where you can get pieces for super cheap. I like buying the tops/jackets and using them as regular clothes, too. In the summer, it’s nice to have sweat-wicking tech. 😉

Oh my gosh, I was just telling a friend about my Fabletics experience, and SHE mentioned the great sales, too!!! They must be the real deal! I’ll have to keep my eye out… Thanks for the hot tip, JacLyn 🙂
