FYI - GlossyBox sends out variations, so while it's likely everyone will get some of the products pictured here, we don't know the other variations yet.

Got my last glossybox today. I got:
– lip liner
– vitry nail care
– bronze goddess palette
– face spa brush
– exfoliating mud mask

I got the same as you. I kind of wanted to try the hair product but over all happy I didn’t get the nail polish. It really wasn’t my color. But I am happy to try the mask. And the eyeshadow palette is good neutral colors.

At least you received a mask! I got all the same items as you except for that one, and instead I got the Leighton Denny nail polish they already sent to us last year. I was frankly insulted by this box (did they think no one would notice the repeat? or that it’s such a useful item that it’s worth sending again??) and canceled my subscription the moment I received it.

Jess
I would think they would have sent the nail polish or nail strengther Not both. I wonder how they determine who gets what
Lisa
I receive 2 subs of glossy 1 package weighs 1.3 lbs. and one weighs 1.5 lbs. so hopefully I will get two different versions. Fingers crossed.

Lisa
Even though my tracking info listed two different weights of the packages I got identical boxes.

My box consists of the facial brush, Moringa cleansing balm (.5 oz), Angel Masque (3.4 oz), Vitry Nail Repair Care (.129 oz), and a broken Rodial lip liner that can not even be sampled.

Month 3 for me and Glossybox. I have two subs (for now) with them and received both variations. I’m happy! The palette in one and hair masque in the other make these a good value to me.

Does the SKU indicate which box I am getting? My SKU is g.2017.05.s.
Thanks!

That just means you are getting the May box.

Does anyone know if the lip liner has to be sharpened?
Reply
Kimberly
My lip liner had a broken tip and nothing else works on it. It doesn’t seem to turn to advance it and there doesn’t seem to be anything but the broken tip. I didn’t even get a chance to try it.

Pretty much that was my situation, too, for both of my boxes. It worked, then broke off. Can’t scroll it. I tried my 2nd one and it won’t scroll either. I emailed CS this morning. Thought the manufacturer would want to know!
Or is there a trick to using it??
Noelle
The lip liner is a turny on the bottom type.

KC
Hmm it doesn’t seem like it scrolls up even when I turn it many times.

Ya know.. I wasn’t looking forward to this month’s box, but I got it today, and I am happy! I got the variation without the pallette, which is great being I don’t use much makeup! The cleansing balm looks amazing and so does everything else! I will use everything after all. I am a little upset though because I thought I saw somewhere that there would be 4 full sized items in this month’s Glossybox? Maybe I’m wrong? Not sure.. I do love all the items though..
Reply
Jess
The website says 2 full size items. I believe last month was 4 full sized items.

Marie
Do you know how much your box weighed? Thanks!

Sorry Marie.. I have no idea.
Melissa W.
Yes.. I am right, it is Glossybox that promised 4 full sized items in this month’s box!!! I only got 2 full sized items! Why do they lie all the time! This is FALSE ADVERTISMENT! Not nice Gossybox..

One thing I always like about GB is that it’s spread fairly even across categories. Skin, hair, makeup, and then usually either nail or fragrance. It’s truly a sampler. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup the most but I have other subs that focus on makeup. This one, Look Fantastic, and Birchbox are my more all-around samplers to counteract the heavy makeup emphasis of Ipsy, Boxycharm, Lip Monthly etc…

I recieved my May box today. It contained what’s pictured on the info sheet above:
-Rodial XXL lip liner in nude
-Spa to you cleansing brush
-Kevin Murphy Angel masque (3.4 oz)
-Emma Hardie cleansing balm (0.5 oz)
-Vitry Nail Repair Care (0.13 oz)
So…2 “full size” items (can a brush be considered full size?). The brush is made in China, and feels and looks cheap. The bristles are scratchy, and it comes with a cheap little stand. 😕
I haven’t tried any of the other things yet. The Kevin Murphy does have a strong smell, but it’s not intolerable for me.
Actually, “not intolerable” is the most positive thing I can say about this box in general.

Kevin murphy products are awesome and expensive. That mask is half of full size, about $18 RV for angel and $25 RV for hydrate. I hope I get hydrate because I have used the formula before and liked it. If the lip liner is a wearable shade, the box will be a win for me!

Lola
With GB the brush is definitely considered a full size item.

I’ve kept my Glossy sub because I am locked in for like $14/month for life ($14.70 to be exact), but I am getting bored with this box. I have actually quit almost all my boxes lately. Maybe I am just bored with sub boxes in general. I quit Boxy about a year ago – not because it wasn’t good, but because I didn’t need anymore product. I only kept Glossy then because of my promo price. I think it has overstayed it’s welcome. I think we are about to part ways.
I’m underwhelmed. I just keep fearing that I will give up my locked in rate and it will become great again, but I’m not sure that’s happening.

Jess
How did you get in a locked in rate of $14 for life? That’s awesome!

I guess my lowered expectations don’t necessarily have me disappointed with any of these variations- BUT…. I distinctly remember getting and double checked a promo email from them on May 1st (not the same email on my current only until glossydots used up account) that explicitly stated.”get 4 full-sized products in May.” Not sure if that means only new subs (per Gloosybox’s usual opaque communication that is not specified). Glossybox seems to think people don’t share these promos or remember them. Either way they latest box spoiler doesn’t appear to have 4 full size. Not that I was really expecting 4 full-sized items. Either way, my last box.

Yep I finally dropped Glossybox last year after their boxes started to go down in value & totally started to lack the premium beauty brands.

Lola
The liner, the brush, the nail care, the nail polish. There you have it, four full size products.
In my opinion this is a $10 box.

I had glossybox for 2 years and I canceled. I can tell you with 100% certainty that ipsy for 10$ blows away glossybox. I just got $80 worth of stuff in my ipsy with four full size items including urban decay and it cosmetics. Boxycharm and ipsy rule!
JesH
Yep. Exactly- that variation does have 4 full size, but the variation with travel size balm and hair mask isn’t. So it makes me wonder if new subs get the variation with two nail items?
Alyce
Hello ladies,
I’m hoping one of you can help me. I had a year sub that ends with this box. I cashed in my Glossydots to receive a free June box. Today I received an email that told me to renew my subscription, I am not planning on doing that, but I don’t want to be charged automatically. If I cancel my sub now, will that be forfeiting my free June box? I hope I’m clear on this question, Glossy states they don’t send a free box with cancelled subscriptions, yet if I subscribed/extended for one month I’d receive two June boxes….
Reply
Luna
When my annual sub was ending in December, I emailed Glossybox in either late November or early December to let them know that I wanted to redeem my Glossydots for a free January box. I actually didn’t even mention about cancelling my subscription (I was going to do that later, but before December 15th), and they replied within a couple of days confirming my free January box, and they automatically cancelled my annual sub so that I wouldn’t receive a 2nd January box. They gave me a specific date to re-sub in case I wanted to start a new subscription with the February box. I was actually impressed with their initiative. Maybe I just got lucky and got a thoughtful & thorough CS rep to help me.

Glossybox has a customer service phone number or live chat option that works really well too. I’d most definitely call or chat to have CS handle your cancellation with glossy dots redemption. Make sure you cancel prior to May 14 th so you won’t receive the June box as a subscription purchase.

Wow this box is such a bummer… remember when Glossybox was THE box and it always had awesome brands and great sizes!? I actually used to get box envy for all the boxes! Then I subbed and as soon as I did that it seemed to go downhill real fast! Not to mention the horrendous customer service, so I cancelled 6 months ago and haven’t looked back but it is pretty sad about their fall from grace, what happened?!

Yea back in 2015 when I first subscribed to Glossybox it was awesome. I noticed a huge decline sometime in 2016. Right before the boxes tanked Glossy was selling past boxes like wildfire. I never could guess why they had so many left from those past months. Cuz those past boxes were curated back when Glossybox was still a great subscription service. While the mass sale of past boxes was ongoing, Glossy kept offering to good to be true special monthly deals. But by then they had already started going down hill. So those awesome subscription specials seemed to be the way of distracting us from the fact that their subscription products now suck. At this point I’d be surprised if Glossybox doesn’t go under.

They had a change in management. The original founder left awhile back. It steadily has been downhill from there as they keep changing management. Their current new management seems just concerned about their bottom line.

One of the problems with Glossybox is their boxes are really inconsistent across subscribers. Some people may be lucky enough to get the Emma Hardie cleansing balm, but others will get something like a q-tip instead. Well, maybe it won’t be THAT bad, but they definitely could get a $2 hotel-sized body wash instead. Or a $2 nail polish. That’s definitely happened before. Also, Glossybox seems to rarely include any full sized items anymore so I’m willing to bet the cleansing balm would be pretty small anyway. This box frustrates me more than a sub box ever should, thus I am anxiously awaiting the day when my subscription runs out. I’m so over it. Sorry Glossybox.

lol @ q-tip 🤣 I honestly only trust Glossy for their limited edition boxes now!

Hmmmm, I’m obviously in the minority. I like the looks of this box and would like to get it, even though I am not currently subscribed. I’ll wait until I see Liz’s review, though, and have a better idea of which polish colors could be included.

-Rodial XXL lip liner in nude
-Spa to you cleansing brush

I would sell it to you if you want. Let me know.

I really loved the past two boxes. I’ve used everything in them, but this one isn’t very exciting to me. The cleansing balm looks interesting, but I’m really hoping I don’t get two nail products because I’m just not into it. It also feels a little sparse compared to last month when we each got so many products. If the value was higher on the brush, maybe that would make up for it. Idk, guess we’ll see how I feel when it arrives.
Reply
catbert
I hope that at least the cleansing balm is full size.
I can’t stand Kevin Murphy products, and nail stuff just isn’t something I use.
Not sure why they would include a non-powered brush, I didn’t think anybody used those anymore.

Luna
If that cleansing balm is full-sized, then I’m definitely re-subscribing for the month of May!!!
Sara
I’ve never tried Kevin Murphy. Why don’t you like it? And I agree, the brush is a weird addition. I wish they’d include a matching lipstick with the lip liner or something. Idk, just feels like a lot of random items that don’t really make sense together.
Ashby
Oooohhh…I want to try the Emma Hardy Cleansing Balm.

The cleansing Balm is very nice and luxurious.
I’m really not to excited about this box. But then again I can’t expect to like every box. That’s definitely not realistic.
So I’ll try everything and hope next months box will be better.

Does this cleansing balm come with a cloth?
I mean, I actually purchased a Luna Foreo Mini recently, I don’t technically need the cloth 🙂 , but I am wondering what we are getting. I notice these hot cloth cleansers are the trend lately.
