Nerd Block does limited edition boxes every once in a while, so when they announced the Star Wars Celebration box - how could I not be curious and excited?

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Box: Nerd Block Limited Edition Star Wars Celebration Box

This box is no longer available

The Cost: $89.99 + shipping

The Products: Each block is filled with 7 CONVENTION EXCLUSIVES that you won’t be able to find anywhere else!

Ships to: US and Worldwide.

Check out all of my Nerd Block reviews to get more information on this subscription. Check out all of our Geeky Subscription Boxes in the Subscription Box List. Rate, review, and follow this subscription on the Nerd Block profile page.

These 7 items are intended to be convention exclusives that you could only get at the convention in Orlando.

Like every block, it comes with a card detailing each item.

SWCO17 Shirt - Value $15?

The first item is one of my favorite shirts ever! The shirt meshes together all of your favorite characters over the past 40 years!

It's branded with the convention logo on the back as well.

40th Anniversary Mug - Value $15-20?

Next up is the 40th-anniversary mug.

As a major coffee drinker, I own a lot of geeky mugs - this one is gonna be up there with my favorites.

Ponda Baba Oven Mitt - Value $15?

Bonus points for people who picked Ponda Baba to get an item in the box.

This is a basic oven mitt - it will be identical to past oven mitts from Nerd Block.

Death Star Beach Ball - Value $10?

I won't take credit for this - but this beach ball is as easy to blow up as the real Death Star!

Anyways, It's got the SWCO17 logo on the reverse side.

And, of course, all of the basics of a beachball.

Boba Fett Beanie Character - Value $10-15?

These are essentially hacky-sacks of some of the best Star Wars characters. You'd get Boba Fett, Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewy, Kylo Ren, BB8, or a Stormtrooper.

here's a better look - it's definitely filled like a beanie baby - it's not filled to the max, allowing it to sit in any position you'd like.

Pin 3-Pack - Value $15-20?

This might be my favorite item of the box - there are 5 different sets of 3-pack pins that you could receive.

The different packs or pins span across different movies or type of characters, like droids. While it's not my favorite era, or anyone's favorite if we're being honest, I got the Episode 1-3 era pins.

40th Anniversary Yavin Medal Lanyard - Value $10-15?

Be like Han, Luke, and Chewy and give yourself a Star Wars medal!

This was one of the items spoiled while it was still available for purchase - it can come in use for future Cons.

Verdict: I like a lot of the items in this box, but at the $90 price point I can definitely say that I expected something more - or at least a big-ticket hero item. It's tough to value these items since they're all exclusive - and Con exclusive are typically more valuable - so I think the value is going to be up to you more than my guesstimates.

Ripped off…that’s how I feel right now about this block and Nerdblock didnt care. Nerdblock needs to learn from Loot Crate especially the DX box. My last DX box items were really cool and high value. Bye Bye nerdblock.

I wanted to update from my original comment — After complaining, nerd block refunded me $10.00. So I paid $90.00 with shipping for those items. I sold them all on Ebay and made about 2/3 of my money back. So there you go Nerd Block – evidence your box was terrible and only worth around $60. Given that you advertise regular nerd blocks at this value point, you can see why as a customer, you would be lucky if anyone ever buys one of your special blocks.

I’m telling you. do not buy Nerd Block exclusives. after Stan Lee, I’m done with them, even if they will make Beetle Juice Exclusive, i will pass.

Price is outrageous but that T shirt rocks!!

I would be sooooo bummed if I had spent $90 on this, that’s craziness.

Glad I didn’t sign up for this one. Would have been fine as a regular NerdBlock but for $90? No way.

This was definitely a cool box, but not at all worth $90! This honestly could be a regular Nerd Block. However, that Death Star joke was on point!

Con exclusives have some mark-up, but these are not really items that benefit from one like a Vinyl Pop would be. $90 is just too much!

I was so hoping for a Con exclusive POP – especially for the cost.

Wow – this really is a let down for the price. You can get death star beach balls on amazon for less than $10 and they light up, so “exclusive”.

At first I didn’t notice the price and thought “this seems like a pretty cool box for normal Nerd Block prices.” But holy cow?! For me this would have essentially boiled down to a $90 t-shirt.

$90 for a beach ball, oven mitt, bean ball, coffee mug, plastic neck thing, tee shirt, and (3) pins? How lazy was the committee that put together this box?

Just a quick congratulations to all the Star Wars Fans what resisted pushing the buy button on this turkey. I bet you are glad you used that money to pay your phone bill now!

SO happy I avoided this dud. I am a huge star wars fan, and wouldn’t mind these items, but the price point is over double what this box should’ve gone for.
