May's theme was Heroes For Hire and featured A LOT of Marvel characters! Inside, there are items from Deadpool, Jessica Jones, Guardians of the Galaxy, Groot, and Ace Ventura!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Shirt - Value $15?

This month's exclusive shirt features Awesome Mix Vol. 2 from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! Peter Quill's second mixtape is the perfect little callout, and is still ultra-recognizable, for the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool Mug with Stirring Spoons - Value $15+?

One of the bigger ticket items of the month is actually two items - this mug and the coaster/saucer later in this review.

The mug comes with a holster for the cream and sugar spoons and looks like Deadpool's swords when they're sheathed - great design! The mug itself is handwash only and is not microwave safe.

Deadpool Coaster - Value $5-10?

This coaster, or really a saucer, is the other piece of the Deadpool drinkware puzzle.

It's got that classic Deadpool logo look and feel to it. If you don't want to use as a coaster - I think this could also work as a key tray.

Put them both together for a classy tea time with your buddy Deadpool.

Baby Groot 3D Magnet - Value $10?

This month's Groot item is a magnet of the character!

I was really disappointed with the quality of this item - the paint job is sloppy, and with the glued on magnets, it almost feels like an art project.

Jessica Jones Alias Investigations Business Card Holder - Value $10?

I guess I have a collection of Marvel Netflix character business card holders after last month's Loot Crate DX. Nerd Block's features Jessica Jones instead of Daredevil.

Like the Daredevil card holder - this is a cool business card holder - and is nice and subtle enough at the same time.

Ace Ventura Laces Out Pin - Value $5?

The final item in the box really hit its target demographic with me - it's a Laces Out pin from Ace Ventura! Ray Finkle's battle cry is featured - with Miami Dolphins colors - on this month's pin!

This might be my favorite pin. EVER!

Verdict: This was a solid box from Nerd Block - I really like the shirt and pin - but nothing felt like a really strong hero item to me. The three biggest items in the box, the mug, coaster, and magnet were all made by the same company, and they all felt a tad sloppily made - especially the magnet. Without that issue, it's probably a homerun for me.

Just so you know, you may need to update your review. I signed up for the New Block Jr. for my Daughter for her birthday based on your recommendation. So far I paid for 6 shipments and they only sent 3. No box since May. Now their website is closed and they closed their stores. Word is I’ll never get the last three boxes, and it cost me $160. You should look into what is going on and update your review. It looks like they screwed a bunch of people out of money and closed shop. Check out their FB page comments 🙁

I have yet to receive mine. 🙁 I was really looking forward to this box too! And now this makes me even more excited and disappointed at the same time. Grrr….. It says it was “shipped” May 17, but when I look at tracking, it says label created and that’s it.
