New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Review – March 2017

New Beauty Test Tube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full-size beauty samples and you also get a digital subscription to New Beauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general, the value is usually great.

Biosilk Silk Therapy - 2.26 oz Value $10.80

(Good to know for swaps - this product has an inner foil seal.)

This hair serum is designed to add shine and softness without adding weight. (It can work on dry or wet hair.)

I tried it out on dry hair and it made my hair feel softer (and smell fragrant, too). No noticeable changes in shine, though.

Novex Bamboo Sprout Leave in Conditioner - 110 g Value $3.70

This leave in conditioner is supposed to nourish your hair, and you can use it on dry or damp hair. It gets good reviews, so it could just be that I used too much product, but it left my hair a little greasy. I recommend using a small amount of product to start!

Supersmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste - FULL SIZE! Value $21

I've received Supersmile in a few Test Tubes over the years, and I'm always happy to get it! It's a great toothpaste (I love the subtly sweet mint flavor) and whitening benefits are always a plus. I was just running out of my POPSUGAR toothpaste, too. Now my streak of never having to buy toothpaste thanks to subscription boxes continues!

Marula Oil Light Rare Oil Mist - FULL SIZE! Value $28

This oil is specially made for fine hair - it's a "light as air" mist that is designed to add shine and boost hydration in your hair. (It's also supposed to help prevent breakage from thermal styling.)

I love the fine mist application, and the Marula Oil scent is luxe and fab, too.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Anti-Ageing - 15 ml Value $38.40

This is one of my favorite items in the box. It's a luxe skincare brand, the sample is a good size (the full-size version is 50 ml), and I actually prefer the tube container of the sample over the jar container of the full-size version.

The formula is rich but not greasy, and super hydrating. If I could change anything, I'd remove the fragrance, but it doesn't bother me and fades quickly.

Skin & Co Umbrian Truffle Hand Cream - 10 ml Value $4

This truffle hand cream smells SO good! And it's a super rich formula that isn't greasy. A+ hand cream!

Cotz Face Natural Tint SPF 40 – 5 g Value $2.35

This Natural Tint has a matte finish and blends in well. (Almost no coverage, but it does give a nice blur effect.)

(Also, my sample was a clear oil at first – make sure to shake the tube a bit before opening.)

CHUDA Healing Hydrating Cream - 5 ml Value $15

This cream is so decadent! And it is rich for a reason - it is designed to help repair damaged skin (think scars, redness, dryness, burns, etc.). I have a few minor scars I'd like to fade away a bit more, so I will be using this sample with that goal!

PUR Attitude Insta-Results Face Lift Serum - .5 oz Value $32.50

Insta-Result Face Lift? To quote Veronica Mars, "Mark me down as skeptical."

This is one of those face creams/serums that tightens your face for a short amount of time. (In this case about 12 hours.) You can apply your makeup after it dries, too.

I applied it and waited about 2 minutes for it to completely dry. (It was tacky at first.) I could actually notice a slight difference in my skin, and my face actually felt tighter. (A little weird when you try to smile!)

PINROSE Tambourine Dreamer Perfume Sample

This fragrance sample is a towelette dipped in perfume - great for travel or sampling. The scent is floral and light with notes of Lily of the Valley, Ylang Ylang, and Musk.

POP Dental Portable Go Sonic Toothbrush - Value $30

I love my electric toothbrush, but it can't travel with me, so this is so much better than a manual brush alternative!

It is battery powered (battery included), and it even comes with a spare brush head.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $186. I think the value is fantastic, and I LOVE that they are including lots of new brands in this new version of New Beauty Test Tube. (Previously, there were a good amount of repeat brands.) My one critique is that there are a lot of similar haircare items. (But I'm thinking they might work differently for different hair types, so maybe this means something for everyone?)
