Stelle Audio Pillar in Carmel Wood - Value $300

Wow! This speaker is gorgeous! (And that's a sentence I've never said before!) I love that this is a speaker that you actually would want to display!

It has everything you'd want in a speaker, including 360 sound, a built-in speakerphone, Bluetooth, and a 15-hour rechargeable battery. My husband Eric is a bit of a speaker snob (Sonos is his go-to) and he was seriously impressed with this speaker.

And we both loved that the voice of the speaker sounds like Bertie from the NetFlix show Love!

Here is the speaker in hand to give you a better sense of scale. It is about 12 inches tall.

This box also included samples of fabric wall coverings from Maya Romanoff. (The other sample is the size of the box and pictured at the top of this review).

All Robb Vices subscribers get a $250 credit toward a wall covering purchase, and you can also enter to win $2000 toward a wall covering purchase plus a 1-hour design consultation.

We're not in need of any wall coverings, but I'm going to try using the larger sample that was inside the lid as a bulletin board.

K+M Extra Virgin Chocolate Bar - Value $15

K+M Extra-Virgin Chocolate sources the finest cocoa beans, processing them in a unique way to preserve the antioxidants commonly lost in the chocolate-making process, then adding a small amount of Manni heart-healthy extra-virgin olive oil for an additional boost of antioxidants.

This chocolate bar is made with only organic ingredients: Organic cocoa beans, organic sugar, organic Manni extra-virgin olive oil, and organic soy lecithin.

This wasn't overly sweet, and it is helping me become more of a dark chocolate fan!

It's a smooth chocolate, and I love that I can tell myself that it is good for me! 🙂

Jose Andres Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sampler Set - Value $5

Another decadent food item that is good for you, too! The Arbequina is great for salads, vegetables or grilled fish. The Cornicabra is great for seafood, pasta or paella. The Picual is great for sautéing vegetables or meats. And the Secret Blend is good for everything!

I'm planning on cooking with my mom on Mother's Day, and these will be a perfect addition to making the meal a little more special!

And these olive oils also come with an exclusive coupon from Jose Andres! You'll get a surprise specialty item with your meal when you present this card at one of his restaurants.

Braven Flye Sport Wireless Earbuds - Value $50

These wireless earbuds loop behind your neck with a tangle free cable:

They are lightweight, comfortable, and they have an inline mic, volume, and track controls. (Plus 12 hours of playback per battery charge.)

Again, I had Eric help me out with evaluating the audio. His feedback? "These are so good that I'm keeping them." I guess that says it all!

These earbuds also come with multiple silicone covers for a comfortable fit:

And a little pouch to keep everything together!

And to go with these headphones, we have two different fitness offers:

Soulcycle Free Pass - Value $34

If you have a Soul Cycle in your city, I am officially envious of you! (Check out the locations here.)

Equinox Personal Training Session - Value $150?

Again, this is another voucher that I won't be able to redeem in Pittsburgh, but I think I'm going to send both to an LA friend so they can enjoy!

Gardens An Essay on the Human Condition by Robert Pogue Harrison - Retail Value $15 (On Amazon for $11.86)

Book Summary from Amazon:

Humans have long turned to gardens—both real and imaginary—for sanctuary from the frenzy and tumult that surrounds them. Those gardens may be as far away from everyday reality as Gilgamesh’s garden of the gods or as near as our own backyard, but in their very conception and the marks they bear of human care and cultivation, gardens stand as restorative, nourishing, necessary havens.

With Gardens, Robert Pogue Harrison graces readers with a thoughtful, wide-ranging examination of the many ways gardens evoke the human condition. Moving from from the gardens of ancient philosophers to the gardens of homeless people in contemporary New York, he shows how, again and again, the garden has served as a check against the destruction and losses of history. The ancients, explains Harrison, viewed gardens as both a model and a location for the laborious self-cultivation and self-improvement that are essential to serenity and enlightenment, an association that has continued throughout the ages. The Bible and Qur’an; Plato’s Academy and Epicurus’s Garden School; Zen rock and Islamic carpet gardens; Boccaccio, Rihaku, Capek, Cao Xueqin, Italo Calvino, Ariosto, Michel Tournier, and Hannah Arendt—all come into play as this work explores the ways in which the concept and reality of the garden has informed human thinking about mortality, order, and power.

Alive with the echoes and arguments of Western thought, Gardens is a fitting continuation of the intellectual journeys of Harrison’s earlier classics, Forests and The Dominion of the Dead. Voltaire famously urged us to cultivate our gardens; with this compelling volume, Robert Pogue Harrison reminds us of the nature of that responsibility—and its enduring importance to humanity.

I do not have a green thumb, but I wish I did! While I normally wouldn't pick up a book on gardening, the summary of this book seems fascinating. (It gets good reviews, too.)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $385 (without including any of the discount offers and free passes.) If you count the value of the Soul Cycle and Equinox passes, the value goes up to about $570! (Since not everyone will be able to use those offers, I'm not counting them toward the value.) With shipping, this box costs less than $100, so I think the $385 value is incredible.

And the curation in this box is amazing! This is my first Robb Vices box and I am SO impressed! I loved sampling everything, and this is going to be my go-to splurge gift. It's perfect for that question, "What do you get the person who has everything?"

I guess I was the only one who thought this box was an epic fail. They had a bluetooth speaker less than a year ago. And I received this wood grain one as well and it looks so cheap, plus its heavy and larger than a bottle of wine. As it was my first box I was heart broken to have this be it. The discounts and coupons are worthless to me. And the earphones are such an inflated value. I should have known after seeing Feb and March. Ebay is already flooded with these speakers so I guess I will wait and try in a month or two to get rid of it, my only hope is to get the value of the box out of it.

Derrick

Hi, I will swap with you for that speaker. Let me know what you’d like in return.

Adele

You said the earbuds are inflated, do you know where the earbuds are available cheaper? I was trying to find them, but the only place is the Braven site for $49. They are the one thing about this box I like so far and I know someone who would like a pair. The chocolate was bland to me, not sweet enough, won’t use the vouchers and the speaker seems nice to me, but not useful in my thin walled apartment, plus I already received the Braven wireless speaker in a previous box. Thanks!

I agree entirely with you! Feb and March were such misses with me then came this box which I believe is the worst one yet. I was afraid there would be useless vouchers/ gift cards and sure enough this box was full of them.

Susan

I wish they shipped to KY, I am sure it has something to do with KY not allowing alcohol from outside the state 😕

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

As of last month, Robb Vices ships to every state except for UT, AL, and ND. Looks like you can subscribe now!

Amy

Since I cannot use any of the vouchers, if anyone has a need for the Jose Andres, Equinox, or Soul Cycle vouchers, let me know. I will gladly mail them to you. No swapping necessary, you can just have them.

Hi Amy,

I worked love to use your coupons! I can use them where I live and would love to try them out. Not sure how to pm you. Might have to try later on laptop? Put email on here?

Reply ButtonReply

Amy Powell

Not sure either. Not allowed to list email addresses 🙁

Cassandra Furlow

I would love to try them out since they are all here where I live!

Amy Powell

Not sure how to get these to you. I am not on the swap sites and you are not allowed to post email addresses on here?? Any suggestions?

Lia

There are some of all up on the swap site if you are on there 🙂

Kayla

I would love to buy this full box off someone- it’s perfect for me- wish I would have subscribed earlier!

I got this box for my fiancé for his birthday. It arrived in his birthday! It’s the best gift I’ve ever given him. He loved it. Our speaker is copper and gorgeous. He was in the market for wireless headphones so the timing was great too. He decided to sign up for the subscription. I have looked at all the Rob Vices boxes since they started and I have always loved them, but this one was/is mind blowing amazing.

What an amazing gift!! So glad to hear he loved it! 🙂

Just 11 more months until I can sub to this box… counting down the months! Lol

This was my first RV box and I am thrilled with the products in it. Maybe in the future there will be some way to pick your variations (my speaker color would not have been among my top choices, but that’s the trade off of getting a super cool surprise product at a massive discount, I tell myself).

I agree with the the thoughts below on vouchers that I can’t use being a serious bummer when they were advertised as part of the value of the box. Wouldn’t have been a disappointment if they’d just said $385 value with some special extras for subscribers in certain cities or something like that. I would still be a but frustrated that others got more out of the box than I did due to my location, but I wouldn’t have felt misled.

Anyway, the products actually in the box were stellar and I’m glad I finally subscribed. Can’t believe this box is monthly! It definitely feels like a luxury!

I really liked the box and the speaker is awesome. My 2 year old at least once a day either drags it to me or persistently points at it so I can turn it on and she can dance her heart out.

My only gripe is the immense amount of hype they promoted about this being their most valued box yet, but turns out that a few hundreds of that value was put in vouchers that not everyone can redeem (soul cycle/ equinox) or that you have to spend a few thousand to use (Maya Romanoff)

Overall I it was a great box. I just hope they don’t make it a habit of putting vouchers I can’t use or have to spend extra to redeem.

Adele

Exactly, the hype and vouchers really hurt this box to me.

I think my stelle pillar is defective. I got it to work once since then it only works if I am holding down the button on top. As soon as I release my finger there is a click and the lights go out and sound turns off. It does the same whether I have it plugged into the wall or not. Has anyone else had an issue with theirs?
I held off even opening it up because I was considering putting it up for trade, but decided I wanted to keep it.

This is the type of RV box I’ve been dreaming about since I subbed eight months ago. I’ve enjoyed most of the boxes, but the wow factor on this one was huge. My speaker is bronze and it’s absolutely beautiful. About the hyped retail value issue: I do feel that RV misled people about the true retail value of the box by including vouchers not everyone can use. I’m sure they did it to increase the number of subscriptions, but I think a spoiler of the speaker and headphones would have had the same if not greater effect. I really wish they’d rethink their stance about not releasing spoilers. It’s hard to get too mad at them about including the vouchers in the retail value because everything else in the box was a big win, but I do hope they don’t make it a habit. From what I’ve seen, most sub box buyers don’t appreciate tactics like that, including myself. Okay, semi-rant over. Overall, I loved, loved, loved this box and probably would have purchased a couple more as gifts had I known what was in it. Start putting out spoilers RV! It’s good for you! 🙂

Julie

So well put! And that’s literally the issue everyone had! They pushed the retail value vouchers included more than the fact that they got us headphones which aren’t even on the market yet! Those were way more impressive than a piece of foam with a dollar sign you can’t actually put to use! The vouchers for soul cycle and equinox can at least be swapped and are worth something. ( i’ve been a super pissy kid about this since I got two boxes and have $500 fake dollars just mocking me) It’s a great box and there should be no reason to not be thrilled except you still feel stupid for having fallen for the RV bait and switch.

This box totally made up for the February flop. I swapped my earbuds before reading about them…that was a mistake.
I was going to swap the speaker as well, but I couldn’t resist trying it out, and it AMAZED me. My only complaint is the Australian woman’s voice…couldn’t they get a deep, sexy man’s voice to go with the sexy design?

Another coupon is ELVISVIP that saves you 10$ off and gets you a bonus box with a 6 month subscription or longer. I hope the coupon is still valid on June 1st when I get paid and can afford this!

This was my first box and I was ecstatic. If it was just the speaker by itself I would have been happy. I received the wood grain as well and it’s just perfect for me. It can get very loud without losing quality. I am really impressed. Add in the earbuds and I was one seriously happy camper. The olive oil was the icing on the cake.
Thomas Keller is probably my all time favorite chef (next to Jamie Oliver but that’s because I have a crush on him) but I was not impressed with the chocolate. I will pay a premium for fine chocolate but I did not think the bar was worth $15. I think I will just dip it in peanut butter and call it a day.

I have been coveting this subscription for a long time, but unfortunately I can’t get it in MA (I think because they often include liquor?). I feel like I need to move to another state just for this box, LOL!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Awesome news!! Robb Vices just informed me that they now ship to MA! You are good to go!! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

C.J.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for passing on that news!! Signing up now! You are awesome (which we already knew)!

Kelly

I’m surprised there isn’t someone at the MA border selling these out of a car.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

I totally understand! They didn’t ship to PA until recently and it was killing me!

Hopefully, they figure out a way to ship to MA soon!

Reply ButtonReply

Maureen

Ohhhh can i still get this box?

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

On FB they said you would not be able to get April but depending on what you loved about the box a lot of it is up for swap on the site.

Beth

I’ve tried swapping for the speakers and chocolate. The speaker is impossible, at least for me. But if someone reading this wants to swap theirs…!

I don’t even think you can get may, I think their cutoff is around the 8th. I’m 99.9% certain that you can not get april.
